The wooden construction of the structures makes this one of my favorite parks to come to because it is just so refreshingly different. I will mention no swings, but there are slides of varying sizes. Benicia is such a beautiful place and there are so many great hidden gems here. This park is adjacent to a large open grass space where we noticed several birthdays happening, one with a jump house :) This park is all sand, fyi. There are places for parents/guardians to sit, and so many nooks and crannies for kiddos to explore and play. It's a nice perk getting to adventure to new spots for elevated parks, and this is one of them. Plenty of street parking, we can't wait to come back!

This park has everything you'd want; several picnic tables, three different playground structures, volleyball on the grass, baseball field, disc golf course, walking trails for humans and dogs, the list goes on! Oh and you can't forget the iconic cement big slide! There's even a bathroom on site. I've been here for parties of all occasions. It's a great park for all your outdoor needs. Especially for the little ones to get the wiggles out! My toddler loved the playground designated for her age. If you plan on coming here, bring snacks, water, good walking shoes and maybe a picnic blanket if you want to lay on the grass. Coming here is a guaranteed good time.

Fortunately, this park was across the street, had a nice view and plenty of available parking. We saw several other people with dogs and some adults with young children. There's a boat ramp, a dock, fishing pier, public restrooms, a playground, two volleyball nets set up and as I said earlier, a great view. Considering that the park itself is not huge, there's quite a bit to do.

And I do not say that lightly. As soon as you enter through the castle doors, you are transported into a mini Disneyland found in Vallejo, CA. As someone who was raised in this city, I did not expect this. This park truly Wow'd me for several reasons. One, the uniqueness of the play structures. There's a handful of them including a tea cup/ tea pot area, train station and train, pirate ship, pumpkin carriage and more. Our personal favorite; the tea cup with the connected slide, so fun!! My family and I easily spent two hours here. You can also book some spots for parties. I highly recommend checking out the GVRD's website. Theres shaded gazebos and many picnic tables. They even have story time and other events here. Theres a parking lot available and hours as well. They are closed on Tuesdays. 100 out of 10 recommend this park.
