He showed up every week and charged us for chemicals, but we recently discovered that the proper chemicals were not being added and our salt level was essentially nonexistent. When our pool suddenly developed significant algae, we had the water professionally tested at a reputable pool supply company. We also checked our pool filters and discovered they had apparently never been cleaned--they were absolutely filthy. We have since taken over the maintenance ourselves, cleaned the filters, and properly balanced the pool, and the difference is remarkable. Our pool is now cleaner and clearer than it has been in a long time. It is extremely disappointing to realize we were paying for services and chemicals that apparently were not being provided.
