[Parking]: Easy and free parking within a small plaza. [Price]: $2 per gallon for alkaline water and $0.60 for purified water. The shop also sells filters for shower heads. [Process]: This is a self-serve water shop and the owner will assist only if she sees customers are struggling. Push a button right next to lever handle to rinse a water jug. The shop is clean and has various signs stating benefits of drinking water & 10 healthy rules. [Conclusion]: This is one of more expensive water shops I have visited and also self service = more work out on customer's end (5 gallon of water x 8.345 lb per gallon = 41.725 lb of weight to carry), but the shop accept credit cards (5 gallon x $2 alkaline = $10) and the shop is clean. read more

Other stores have been increasing their prices, but Julie has always been fair. You can even buy a filter for your showerhead. The Beach Cities are known for having hard water, so filtering helps a lot. read more

As a fairly new customer, I found the Water Farm based on reviews here, as I was looking for alkaline water that was economical and I could fill on my own. (Background). Family of 4 who loves cold water. Had been using a Brita for awhile, but it was getting annoying having to consistently refill and use fridge space to keep cold. Considered a standalone filter/rental, but it was inconvenient to have to run a water line based on kitchen layout. Decided a standalone water cooler (that takes the big 5-gallon jugs) was best for our family. Looked into rental and delivery service (rent the water cooler monthly, get the 5-gallon jugs delivered every few weeks/month), but in SoCal, the main company that does it seemed to have very poor customer service (consistently misses delivery windows, hard to get customer service on phone, hard to get refunds/credit cards keep getting charged/hard-to-cancel). Eventually decided we'd buy a standalone water cooler (few hundred $ at Home Depot) and I'd find a place to fill jugs myself. Would be my first time going to a "water store", and as long as I was doing it, wanted to try alkaline water for my family for health reasons. (Water Farm): Tried this place based on yelp reviews. So far, I have been very happy with it. - Very clean! Super important given it's self-service. I've now gone to fill 5-6 times, and on a number of occasions, I've seen the owner/worker cleaning the fill area in-between customers. The fill area (2 taps for alkaline, 2 taps for filtered) is always very clean looking. They also have a built-in cleaner for the inside of your water jugs (like the quick cup-cleaners at bars that spray water into the jug upside-down) - Self-service, while it means more work, it means best value and most reasonable price. If you're able bodied and can carry the water to/from your car, this is ideal (vs paying more for the service). Note, they have dollies you can use to wheel-out to your car - They sell various sized jugs (that come with built-in handles and screw-on lids). These are reasonably priced, and was great for me as a newbie to start out and get 3 water jugs here - Good pricing for alkaline water. As of Apr 2025, alkaline water is $2/gallon. I believe for filtered, it's $0.50 or $0.75/gallon - Alkaline water tastes great! Tastes ever so slightly sweet (tiniest hint of sweet). My whole family has gotten used to it and love the crisp taste (and our water cooler keeps cold so we always have cold water) - They have what they call the "family program". You pre-buy 50 gallons of alkaline water upfront for $75 ($1.50/gallon) cash. They take your info down and keep track of how many gallons you fill each time you come, and tell you how many gallons you have left. Works out to a very good price for alkaline water. As I have 3 jugs (and fill 2 at a time once I'm down to using my last one), I fill 10 gallons at a time, and thus am re-upping my $75 deposit every 5 visits - Never too busy. At most I've had to wait for 1 other customer to fill - never more than 10mins in-and-out - Plenty of parking as it's in a small plaza with a good sized dedicated parking lot - Note: closed on Weds! read more

It's water, tastes good. Self service and no frills. Bring your own container. One star off because you have to manually turn the knob on/off, so maybe better to have a heavy multi-gallon container than multiple 1-gallon bottles. You'll get a workout either way, water is heavy. read more

This is the only water store near my friend that's open on Sundays and she lives in Redondo Beach so that's how I found myself in a water store on a Sunday wondering what exactly a water store is. You know those water filling machines at grocery stores, where people could bring in their giant blue containers and fill them up for a few bucks? Now imagine a whole store with a full section of taps for just water. The water is purified in different ways, for this one, a pH up boosted "alkaline" water that's supposedly healthier based on the idea that pH up water balances the pH down of junk food that most people are assumed to eat. $2 a gallon so must be good...is good! See my pic of me dabbing next to this miracle tap. It tastes like normal water, warm too, so just ok, but if you believe in alkaline water, this is the best place, especially on a Sunday morning! It's as easy as Sunday morning to get water here, just ask the cashier, possibly a cute girl, and they'll help you pick out a container that's right for you (Are you a gym bro who likes the mini gallon jugs? Asian person going for the full stainless steel soup container thing? Hydroflasky outdoorsy millenial? Practical value minded person?) The owner's daughter helped me find my perfect bottle after explaining the different types of bottles they had - kinda like buying a wand in harry potter, a magical experience but more enjoyable since it makes buying more fun - an element of buying something in person more unique than buying off of Amazon, where it almost certainly will be cheaper, but without the social experience of talking to someone in person! Bottle buying aside, the water girl helped clean my bottle with a tap that cleans the inside of bottles with a push, much like the ones bars used. I suggested they open up a water bar since they already have the glass cleaner and the taps. Water girl took my crazy suggestion politely and asked me which water I would like...I was feeling baller that day so I said alkaline since I can't get it at home (purified is the other option for $0.50 a gallon). She filled up my BPA free bottle with the alka water and told me other people like it because they find it a little sweet. I tested this out by drinking some and it was pretty good compared to tap water but nothing distinguishable to me. But hey, if you believe in it and the science is actually right, can't hurt! At least I don't think it does... Alka water aside, water girl and the whole water buying experience really made me appreciate that existence of stores that sell water and memories...memories of the time that cute girl helped you buy a water bottle you didn't really need but just wanted...because c'mon, it's a water store, can't say you don't like water! I purchased four 5 gallon water containers here and stop in weekly to get them filled up. I wish I would've done this sooner because over time I have saved a lot of money vs. buying cases and cases of individual water bottles. I have been going to this water station for more than 4 months. I usually pay $20 and it gets credited to my account. I was surprised that the lady was trying to nickel and dime me for every gallon I get to which I replied. Isn't this the reason why I am placing a $20 deposit? And she keeps on telling me that they charge per gallon. so I asked then what's the use of making a deposit if it's even more expensive? She seems not to understand a thing I am talking about so I just told him to charge me for the gallons I got plus a penalty. so an 8-gallon cost me $5. I'm just done with explaining while I'm picking up the water she told me, oh you still have $2.80 credit. At this point, I was not able to contain myself and just told her, you know your store can keep the $2.80. It does not hurt to be fair with your customers. Just warning everyone about this place. Felt so lucky to find this store! Bought a container, put in the dishwasher and it warped. Took it back to the store for a replacement and the woman/owner? rudely informed me that I should have known it was not dishwasher safe. What? How would I know that if there was no label saying such nor directions given from her? She offered me a discount on a new container. Uh, NO. The water in South Bay is awful! I tried my Brita filter and it was still bad! I even bought a shower filter from the Water Farm so I don't have to feel yucky from all the smelly rust and God knows what's in our water. I buy the Water Farms alkaline water for cooking and drinking and filtered water from there for my dog. I'm so glad I found this place a few years ago!
