Since it's COVID she states the men hall is closed off to public and some of the inside rooms. We are welcome to pray at the praying hall

Vinh Nghiem Temple is one of the three temples in a 30 minute radius for my family to visit during New Years since my mom cannot drive on the freeways. The Headmaster and the Buddhist Nun here are both really nice and welcoming. My mom and I are not regulars to this temple, but every time we come, they always offer us a vegetarian meal and well blessings. I know the temple underwent construction in recent years and now they have a private lot that makes it easy for visitors to park. Back in the days, we would have to park a few houses down on the street. With the new construction, the main hall has also been refurnished with new Buddha statues. The interior and exterior of this place looks great. I am slightly surprised that Vinh Nghiem Temple has no reviews yet, but then it makes sense since their regular disciples seem to be an older more traditional crowd of older ladies. If you are looking for a nearby temple to visit, this place is great!

As a Vietnamese Buddhist growing up in the I.E. I'm pretty sure I'm a minority O_O There aren't…read morethat many Vietnamese temples at all, compared to Little Saigon and stuff, but this temple is the closest one to my house. I used to be a part of the Youth Group they had here and it was great. It wasn't religion-centric or anything, moreso a group of friends talking about the stresses of every day life and giving each other constructive advice. Of course there was the religious aspect of meditation and brief prayers and dharma talk. I actually LOVEd going to temple every saturday, in addition to the Sunday prayers. On Sunday, it's basically the weekly prayer sessions where cute old Vietnamese ladies come and pray, in addition to gossiping. This is like their hang out spot, cause I mean .. .. where else do you find Vietnamese people around here. Despite how gossipy the ladies are, the one thing I respect and admire from them is their kind hearts. It's quite common to come along to pray at funerals for members of the temples and their families. But I noticed they even go pray for people they have no attachments to. I mean obviously the Master and the other Monks have religious responsibilities and so on, but these ladies don't have to spend their free time praying for others. They're just really nice... And the one thing I love about the smaller temples, is the family-like attitude. Even when they come and pray for you, you can offer them a donation. It's not like a set price. Cause I know some temples in Little Saigon have set rates and it gets really sketchy.. .. I think religious establishments should be less materialistic. Oh and I LOVE the Vegetarian food they have here. Sometimes on Sundays the ladies here donate food to feed everyone. And in the past there were events were they did a vegetarian buffet where they sold tickets for $5 or $10 as a fundraiser for building the temple. Overall, I can see myself growing old and grey with this place. I've met many great people here and I wouldn't know what kind of person I would be if I was never a member of this temple's youth group :)

There are plenty of parking spots for free. Entered the visitor center and was given a rundown by employee. Proceeded to the temple, which is the most incredible thing I've seen. It felt like we were transported out of Cali. You place your shoes on a shoe rack before proceeding up the stairs. The temple was beyond words. No phones, talking, hats or shoes allowed inside. Took the elevator to basement, where we walked through a museum before exiting back to the shoe rack. Went back to the visitor center, where we enjoyed browsing the gift store and cafe. There is an amazing selection of snacks. The experience was 10/10.

My…read morefriends and I made the trip to Chino Hills to visit the Sonic Speed Cafe that was coming to an end in May, so we finally bit the bullet and made the trip over, but knowing it was pretty small I looked up other things to do in the area and this temple popped up! We made the mistake of following Google Maps' directions and it led us to a gate that was closed. Not being familiar with the location, we decided to just park on the street and walk until we found an open gate in the scorching sun that day. That was a mistake, although I suppose I appreciate the exercise. If you find gates closed, just drive around the venue until you find an open one. There's plentiful parking in the venue and it's free! Security will give you a sheet with a list of things not to do. FYI, there's a rule of no backpacks, but specifically this is in regards to large ones. I panicked a little bit because I always just have a small backpack on me in lieu of a purse, but the kind lady at check-in explained that it was fine. They allow photos of the outside of the temple, but no photos of the interior. Shame, but I completely understand. I really highly recommend visiting this place if you get the chance. This is by far the most beautiful and insanely detailed architectural temple I've seen in Socal. The interior was absolutely breathtaking. If I'm ever in the area again I'd stop by just to see it and take anyone else I know to see it.

Happy New Year!…read more This event was really fun. A lot more people than I expected to be there be prepared to have a hard time to find parking. Free entry. Allows donations at front. You can offer for blessings. The food is fresh in exchange for tokens but soon they ran out of tokens so you could just pay cash if that happens. If you have leftover tokens you can exchange it back for your cash back. Vendors were nice some were selling khmer outfits (traditional clothing), foods such as wrapped banana leaf dessert, boba and more. some were selling parasols for about 12-20$ fair price. I loved the experience fun for kids. They had a dance floor and a live band. Please check this out! :)

It's kinda ironic as I enter, I see a monk sitting under a tent chanting and at the same time the live band overpowering him with the instruments, while the ladies singers screeching a tune lol!!! Toys for kiddos, art and paintings. My favorite vendors are the fashion one, from traditional silk attire to shirts with Khmer pride logos. Hopefully next year they will add a real restroom not a port a potty
