This is the best location to recycle your bottles and cans. I drive all the way from Anaheim just to go here because it's fast and easy to access. It's also quite clean (which is a weird thing to want from a recycling center, but I appreciate it lol). When I dealt with them over a year ago mentioning I was in a wheelchair the guy on the other end said yeah my uncle's in a wheelchair now here I am a year later still trying to get them to replace the broken trashcan, but it is the rudest unprofessional customer service I've ever received if you're lucky to even get a human! It has so many recordings to choose from and then when they give you the option to leave a voicemail, it always tells you the mailbox is full. WM didn't pick up my trash on Thursday morning. Reported a missing pick up Thursday night. Came home from work Friday night and still no pick up. Went to the website and the website is down. Just came back from this place and the young Mexican kid that is working there. Should not be working with the public because he has a very bad attitude. As a person. With a hearing disability, this kid was banging the table for me to get out of the way at the register. He said," I told you 3 times to get out of the way!" I responded," Hey kid, I am legally deaf!" His lame response was, " How did I know that?!" This kid almost got his ass beat that morning! A total nightmare requested service 4 times- escalated- even asked for a supervisor since last Monday, and never ever got my trash picked up. They missed the service - they were supposed to exchange the trashcan. They brought me a dirtier older one and the guy grabbed the trash and put it in the new dirty old one and refuse to take it and I called four times and every time they said someone will pick it up by the end of the day at 6 PM and they never did. I don't know how they stay in business. I guess they got the monopoly so nobody has a choice and doesn't matter how you complain you're kind of stuck with them. Horrible customer service! Our weekly dump day is on Friday and every week our trash guy THREATENED to throw away my basketball hoop because it was "too close to the trash cans" but it was 7 ft away. He always gives us notes regarding that our cans are "over flowing" when the lid is completely closed. He is rude and he didn't even dump one of our cans on Friday! The lid was closed and he took out everyone else's dumpster but ours. Now since he didn't take out our trash, my backyard is full of trash, this has happened serval times over a course of months and I would like to see a change in our trash guy or a completely different person. Large item pick up was picked up a day after our usual trash pick up day, albeit it has been raining. A notification system or automated text message system would be nice like most delivery systems so we're not wondering whats going on and if we have to haul the trash back from the street and hold it another week. read more

I never thought I'd be leaving a review for WM but I've been interacting with them all week to adjust our container sizes, etc. and have been really impressed with how well-run this company is despite how large it is. For example, after I submitted a request to increase our bins to the largest available they responded within 24 hours and said they could accommodate -- and it would only cost $1 more per month to upgrade from the 35 gallon to the 96 gallon! Additionally and more specifically, we are just moving into our home and met the gentleman on our route (Redbluff Circle in Irvine) for the first time today, 9/11. We inherited smaller-than-standard bins from the owner before us and were apprehensive about not being able to fit all of our recyclables until our new bins arrived. Not only did he stop to say hello to my fiance and welcome him to the neighborhood, he insisted on taking the cardboard that didn't fit even though we were fully prepared to wait until the following week. He went out of his way when he truly did not have to and gestures like that do not go unnoticed. We didn't catch his name but he was incredibly kind, professional, and a great introduction to our new community. This is a follow up to the review I made eight months ago. I am still grateful for the hard work Jesse (Jesus) continually performs for WM. He keeps our buildings clean and secure. We have four new seven story buildings in our community, housing 285 units with highly demanding residents. I am now a director of Lexington HOA Central Park West, Irvine. We have developed a full plan to keep our community safe, secure and clean. Jesse is an integral part of this plan. Jesse and WM Waste Management is the only person and the only company I would trust to keep our large community clean, the beginning to maintain security. In fact, because of Jesse, we decided to increase additional hours weekly. We are extremely satisfied with Jesse's performance. He is a model worker, that needs no guidance, because his heart is into this demanding service industry. We appreciate-WM Management Co to have a person like Jesse. Waste management is such a joke at this point. I cannot take them seriously any longer. Short version: unreliable and not dependable We have scheduled 2 bulk pick ups in our 3 yr time span as customers. The first was in 2020 or 2021 (hubs requested not I) and the second was scheduled for pick up today. I know that holidays will disrupt the schedule and cause a 1-2 day delay in pick ups. But the customer dashboard on the website said the bulk item pickup scheduled for today. It was listed as on time and would be picked up shortly based on the driver's ETA. Wrong‼ Chatted with a virtual rep (Jesus) that confirmed that a pickup was gonna happen. Even though I was skeptical as it was approaching 5pm. He assures me that the driver has until 6pm and not to worry. Wrong again‼‼ Here it is 7:30pm and I am venting on Yelp. Welp, no bulk item pick up today. I waited until 6pm to run all the errands I had planned and do all the things I needed to get done today. I wish I could give them zero stars. They have been LYING to us for weeks. Our trash can is literally falling apart. We tried taping the top together, but that was a failure. We have been emailing them for 8 weeks. 8 WEEKS aka TWO MONTHS. First couple of weeks, oh, we have you on the list. No pick-up. We have tried to escalate. Oh, the driver said he came through and your trash can was not out. LIAR, LIAR, PANTS ON FIRE. I personally put out that trash can Sunday afternoon and leave it there until about 9 pm Monday night for the last 8 weeks in the vain hopes they will give me a new trash can. Finally, we get the we are backed up, just put it out there. Fine. In the meantime, we try to escalate to someone. Finally, they said they escalated to a specialist who said, oh, we actually have a supply-chain issue. We are backlogged because our supplier in Asia has not sent us new trash cans. WM has been charging us for 94 gallon toters when we, in fact, have 64 gallon toters and it is specified in the contract since 2015. We realized this just recently, when I took over the accounts. After speaking with the account manager (and getting clicked on various times as well as insulted when they insisted we don't know how to use a measuring tape), they finally accepted we did have the wrong toters being charged but were unwilling to retro-pay our account for years and years of overpayment. Our contract ends in August and it is now July, we decided to forego renewing with them and in retribution they have been missing our pick ups which are usually Tuesdays and no holiday fell on that date to excuse the change in pick up. When I called customer service they informed me there was a 'hold' on the account and the customer service agent removed it but our trash was still not picked up until Saturday. I was assured the next pick up would go as usual but of course, Tuesday rolled around and our trash was once again not picked up. We are a company and it does not look good to have the trash outside our office day after day. All this to say, if you can chose a different company to service your trash pick up, I would absolutely do so. We will now go with CR&R who is very responsive and worked with us to make the contract what we needed it to be. read more

I set up Auto Pay with Waste Management. Because an admitted glitch in their Auto pay system my Auto pay was incorrectly submitted making the auto-payment bounce. My invoice stated, "You are on Auto-pay" DO NOT pay this invoice. I had to go to their website and manually input THE SAME EXACT PAYMENT METHOD. I use for auto pay to pay in full and have my services restored. AND I'm told no refund for late fees, fees to reactivate my service! If I could give a rating of 0 I would. read more

My garbage has not been picked up since the end of June! It has now been allmost three weeks and my garbage can has 2 weeks worth of garbage and is close to overfowing. We have called every day since July 7th, and have spoken to several people who said that it wouldbe quickly resolved, yet we still are waiting. I have posted a complaint with the BBB. This review is for the Irvine Transfer Station. The women that work the cashier's window are the rudest people I have yet to encounter in Orange County. I realize that the job is horrible, but you do not have to treat customers badly. The rest of the station is absolute chaos. The people directing you to the drop areas just point in general directions, and you have absolutely know idea if you are going to the right place. A series of letters or numbers on the ceiling or fences above would simply solve this issue. This site's faults and many other Waste Management issues could be easily be remedied by competent management, something sorely lacking in this company. read more

This has to be the worst run public company in California. There are so many occasions that they miss pick up, but on their website they will mark it PICKED UP. Agents in Live Chat will promise you to do a recovery in 24-48 hours, when in fact no one will show up. When questioned again, the agents will try to pass you off to the email customer agents, which they will try to spin the non-pick up as some BS unforeseen circumstances. Both the live agents and email agents will lie in your face regarding the pick up or recovery and it seems like there's nothing we can do. I think if enough people file complaints with 1) CA AG Public Inquiry Unit, 2) CA Department of Consumer Affairs, 3) Your City, and 4) the Better Business Bureau, WM may be forced to change their tactics of blowing customer off without any consequence. read more

waste management is the only trash service in most parts of orange county, so they don't need to do a good job nor need to have a competent and effective customer service. Even if there was an individual who was effective, responsible and following through, the software application that the customer service people have to use is full of bugs and messed up business rules so they couldn't be effective even if they knew how to be. i have never dealt with so much incompetence on such a regular basis with any company in any industry ever in my long ling life! it's a joke. when it was time for me to move and cancel service at one address and start service at a new address i had to call at least 15 times and be on hold each time and tell my entire story over each time to each person. every detail that could be done wrong was done wrong. so frustrating and such a huge waste of my time and money (my time is money so it was a very expensive journey). they didnt cancel my old service when asked (had to call and cancel multiple times) they charged me for pickups at the cancelled address after i had moved out. they didnt deliver me the correct size cans that i ordered at the new address. they overcharged me for service at the new address. they overcharged me for trash pickups at the new address based on the can size i had at the old address. they didnt pick up the previous residents old cans at my new residence (still getting this figured out after two months) even though i called to confirm the day of pickup. it's so disorganized and if it wasn't so frustrating it would be hilarious. read more

I scheduled a special item pick up via email I received a confirmation that we picked up on Tuesday. I thought that was strange being a holiday week. Tuesday came and went and no pick up. I called and they said due to the holiday it was pushed back a day. Wednesday, no pick up. I called and they said it wasn't at my garage and they had pictures to show that it wasn't there. I explained that my cans are picked up on the street not the garage. Thursday came and went no pick up. Friday morning I call and they say it wasn't at the garage. Zero stars. They suck and always make excuses. They really have no incentive to give any service or be reliable. 3 weeks ago the driver drove by all the trash bins on the whole block. It took many calls to customer service just to get them out the next day. Had my neighbors fill out their web form and call them. 2 weeks ago, I saw my recycle bin fall into the truck and the driver took off. He knew he grabbed the can at the wrong angle but was to lazy to reset the grip. I called customer service and they said another can cannot be delivered until the following week. It seems it's the same day as your pick up but there is no reason for this. It's probably just to make the person who drops off the bin more comfortable. A week later and there is no bin. They claim it can take until 7 pm but that is only an excuse to get you off the line. If it fails, then you can call the next day. I called again and they will relay dispatch and call me back in 1 hour. Nope, you must call back and it turns out dispatch is done by a 3rd party so it made zero sense why they need to drop off on the same day as your pick up. I asked if I can get the can before the next pick and the response it they will escalate to a manager and call back. No call back again. I called back and now it looks like there is a bin shortage by the vendor and they are very backed up. There is no way you can pick up the can. This is absurd because how can a garbage company not have cans. They claim the drop off is still on the books for the next week but I know it's to just get me off the phone. I call back and it turns out a shipment of cans just came in and now my appointment is really confirmed for next week and I can just put my two weeks worth of recycling on the curb and they will pick it up. That is BS because the driver will not pick up anything that is outside the bin and it's to just get me off before they close at 5pm. Since it's a different driver that drops off the bin, it is possible to get the drop off before your next pick up. I have done it before. You just have to find the 1 in 1000 employee in customer service that is not lazy. Update! Turns out there wasn't a shipment of cans, just more false information. So I had to turn up the heat and call them on Wednesday and let them know they missed another appointment. Turns out the can wasn't in stock after all. However, they can offer me a 32 gallon or 96 gallon recycle bin. Not the 64 gallon bin I want. They never mentioned this. I opted for the 32 gallon just to avoid keeping trash on my property for another week. They promised it will be delivered on Friday. I called Thursday to turn up the heat again asking them if they were serious about delivering the can on Friday. I talked to regular customer service, Manager, and dispatch for the cans. At Friday around 2pm, I got my 32 gallon can. That tells you they are full of BS. The can can be delivered on a different day than your trash pick up. It's a 3rd party vendor so there isn't a need to deliver the can on the same day as your pick up. That only ensures you are left with trash at your house for another week. read more

Thieves. Price gougers. We haul all the time all over SoCal. Prices per load is generally $30 to $140... average is $85. Pulled up here and it was empty which was unusual... until I heard the price...$245. The girl that worked there asked if we had safety helmets and vests which no other place has ever asked for. I told her No and she then asked, "it's going to be $75, is that OK?" Wtf was that about? I told her No it's not ok and went to HB instead. She didn't say if it was for insurance or for renting a helmet or buying one or anything...just that I had to pay it if I wanted to dump there. Lesson learned. I will never go back here. Freaking JERKS! Called a week ago to pick up a grill. Well, as you would have it, they didn't pick it up! I called at 1630 to inquire if they were going to pick it up. She assured me that they were going to pick it up, that they worked on our pick up day up until 1800. Of course, they never picked it up. I called the next day for "Jimmy" to treat me in a condescending way, implying my grill according to the pick up men, was not there.
