I have been to city bark and found it to be just right. I have an energetic boxer who follows me around the house 'wooooing' at me if she doesn't get taken to the park. At first, I questioned my invested 50 some dollars to enter city bark but the more I go here, the more I am happy with my investment. There are picnic benches, plenty shady spots, a drink machine, bathrooms, hills, plenty places for your pooch to drink, a little doggy pool, a fire hydrant that explodes with water,and plenty dogs. My dog Poppy and I rate this five stars.

They also haven't put tennis balls in the park since COVID, and when I asked about that, they used COVID as their excuse in 2024. So I've been bringing my tennis balls. And last, they replaced the shower nozzles and hoses with very short hoses and nozzles that spray water EVERYWHERE. Not sure who thought of these "upgrades," but they suck. Just really silly inconveniences when you're already paying per year to use the park.

There is little to no tree coverage and limited spots to enter and exit the park, so be careful and bring a water if you're walking here during the hot summer months. There are also people taking rest in the shade of the Mandeville Shed that I would suggest you not walk near for various reasons. Like any place, just walk swiftly and be aware of your surroundings, and you'll be fine.

There are chairs for you to sit in. There are soccer nets if you wanna break out a game of soccer. And of course, loads of space for the dog to rip and run. For the most part, the dogs that come here are well behaved and able to be awfully. Every now and again you'll find an aggressive that comes through. But most dogs stay away from their dog and the owner will leave. Like most things there are rules. But they're easy. Clean up behind your dog, and be nice. In essence. Often times there are other events that are hosted here in the park at which time the dogs are not allowed to roam freely, fortunately that is fairly in frequent. Parking is a table difficult because it's only street parking and it's shared because of the residence that live in the area.

Large spacious park with 2 areas for larger or small dogs. Another fam was leaving and my little guy has always played with the big dogs so in we all went. Really impressive park with obstacles and plenty of room to run. On this particular day it was still sloshy from a recent rain and our retriever friend, Jackson was all up in that water. All the dogs got wet and dirty. They loved it! Worth a trip to the West Bank! The best part.....they were tired and exhausted lots of energy while having fun. Bring a towel, just in case it's wet.

After walking past all the awesome architecture Of the French Quarter, we landed at Jackson Square. It's an awesome park located near the waterfront of the French Quarter. It's a pretty popular spot, the famous Cafe Du Monde is located just outside the gates of Jackson Square. The famous French Market is also located just a hop, skip, and a jump from Jackson Square. The park itself is so pretty, well manicured, full of photo ops all over the square itself. The square features a statue of Andrew Jackson on horseback in the center of the square. St Louis Cathedral is located at another end of the square, this church dates back to the late 1700s. The historic Cabildo building is located next to the cathedral and this is the building where the Louisiana Purchase took place. These are some of the reasons I think everyone who visits New Orleans must add a visit to Jackson Square to their itinerary. It's an awesome historic spot in New Orleans.

At all times, even if it's the middle of summer and there hasn't been rain for a week, there are three large, green, smelly mud pits that are never filled or attended to by staff. These holes with standing water are a health hazard (bacteria, mosquitoes and such) but also a nuisance for dog owners to keep their dogs out of. There is no shade and only a few patches of grass. In addition, the wash facilities for the dogs are kept turned off. There are hoses there but no way for us to use them. I've seen many patrons now brining their own "keys" (purchased from the hardware store) to turn the hose on. Some dog owners will routinely use the adjoining baseball field for their dogs, as it's well maintained with cut grass and no standing water puddles. It's a shame that the neighborhood had to wait so long for a park that is so terribly maintained. There are no other off-leash parks anywhere close which encourages dog owners to use "illegal" spaces for their pets such as open parks and baseball fields. I've been hassled by police for doing this, even with a fixed, registered and well behaved dog. The efforts that the city puts into bullying/ticketing dog owners who use those illegal spaces is useless if they fail to provide decent and legal off-leash parks for our use.
