If you are in Berlin and searching for a nice quiet place to take in the city and get your laundry…read moredone, Freddy Leck's Wash Salon is your place! My family and I stopped in on a rainy June afternoon. We were immediately greeted by a kind individual who told us to relax and enjoy the walking experience. He showed us the washers to use and explained the rest of the process as far as detergent and where we could sit. All the information is also posted in German, as well as in English on frames throughout the wash salon. If you have come without detergent or other supplies, they offer products for a small fee. The salon also offers a drop service where they will wash and dry your items and pick up at a different time. My favorite part of the experience besides the amazing customer service was that each washer and dryer has a name, for instance Inez! After getting settled, I later find out the kind individual who helped us upon entering was Freddy himself! Although he was busy, he and his staff continuously checked in on us. We were there a few hours and in the time walked the street the salon is and even chatted with Freddy about Berlin. We keep this on the list as a spot to return to in the future. Kind people, great service, and a clean place to wash!

The place is run by what seemed to be a mother-and-son team. The young man in particular was very kind and helpful in walking us through the process. We had two loads of laundry, which came out to about €16. At first, I thought the price was a little on the high side, but it was hard to complain given the overall experience. The laundromat was clean, well-kept, and had a comfortable atmosphere. You can even enjoy a nice cup of coffee (for a price) while you wait, and there's Free WiFi available too, which is always a plus for travelers. One of the things we appreciated most was that we felt secure enough to leave our clothes while they washed. The area is surrounded by restaurants, so we were able to slip out for a bite to eat and come back without any worries. Overall, this laundromat was a great find on our trip--clean, friendly, with WiFi, coffee, and in a perfect location. Definitely recommend it if you're traveling through Berlin and need to do a quick refresh on your clothes.

Halfway through a 2-week trip, I needed to find a place for laundry. This place is great…read more Affordable rates. Clear signage to explain how to use the washer and drier (one was in English). The upstairs has a little cafe with basic food and drink offerings. If you need a place, I highly recommend this location. They sell washing detergent and softener through the same vending machine one uses to pay. One can pay in coins, cash (and I think credit cards, if I recall). You have to note the name on your machine in order to pay, but the signage explains it pretty clearly. One of the reviews on Yelp also has (largely accurate) instructions. Great little joint.

I don't have much experience with laundromats here in Berlin. My college days? Sure. But I have…read morebeen lucky to have washing machines at every place I have lived thus far, and with the slight exception of one breaking that required a quick and dirty drip to the laundromat, I have never had a need to wash clothes outside of my home here. But when it came time to wash a giant winter comforter, it wouldn't fit in our washing machine. Not only that, but in order to waterproof our winter shell jackets, we needed access to a dryer, something which most Germans don't have. So we made our way across the park to Waschhaus 38. I was surprised when I arrived. It's narrow and long, two stories tall. It has a "lounge" area with sofas and tables. And it's CLEAN. We opted for the big washer and dryer upstairs... these are all named after countries and cities, which is kind of strange but makes things interesting I suppose. All in all, we spent about an hour there. It was a Sunday but there were plenty of machines available and we were in and out in no time with clean and dry belongings. That said, if I did have to frequent a laundromat, the prices here aren't the absolute best, but the place is still pretty legit.

It's great that provide us detergent and softener. There's different load sizes that you can do and dryers are super hot! Our clothes dried within 30 mins (2 euros). I recommend this spot to anyone. In A Nutshell:…read more -Specht's Waschsalon (laundromat) was a great find during a recent trip to Berlin. -I tend to pack as little as possible to save on unnecessary baggage fees & more importantly dragging along more weight, while keeping my hands free during travels. -I always make sure there are laundromats nearby the accommodation I stay at. -The parking here is slightly tough, but if you linger around, you'll eventually find a space. -This is a very small laundromat, but it wasn't full. -It was tricky to learn at first, but luckily (as in almost all my experiences), there is someone nice enough to help guide you through (especially when you can't read foreign languages). -I was able to wash/dry within a 3 hour time frame. Overall, doing laundry in foreign places is fun since I do laundry at home in my house, you always learn something new, how the locals live & encounter very nice people willing to help.
