If you are in Berlin and searching for a nice quiet place to take in the city and get your laundry done, Freddy Leck's Wash Salon is your place! My family and I stopped in on a rainy June afternoon. We were immediately greeted by a kind individual who told us to relax and enjoy the walking experience. He showed us the washers to use and explained the rest of the process as far as detergent and where we could sit. All the information is also posted in German, as well as in English on frames throughout the wash salon. If you have come without detergent or other supplies, they offer products for a small fee. The salon also offers a drop service where they will wash and dry your items and pick up at a different time. My favorite part of the experience besides the amazing customer service was that each washer and dryer has a name, for instance Inez! After getting settled, I later find out the kind individual who helped us upon entering was Freddy himself! Although he was busy, he and his staff continuously checked in on us. We were there a few hours and in the time walked the street the salon is and even chatted with Freddy about Berlin. We keep this on the list as a spot to return to in the future. We stopped at this laundromat while in Berlin on vacation since we like to pack light and needed to refresh our clothes for the next leg of our European trip. The place is run by what seemed to be a mother-and-son team. The young man in particular was very kind and helpful in walking us through the process. We had two loads of laundry, which came out to about €16. At first, I thought the price was a little on the high side, but it was hard to complain given the overall experience. The laundromat was clean, well-kept, and had a comfortable atmosphere. You can even enjoy a nice cup of coffee (for a price) while you wait, and there's Free WiFi available too, which is always a plus for travelers. One of the things we appreciated most was that we felt secure enough to leave our clothes while they washed. The area is surrounded by restaurants, so we were able to slip out for a bite to eat and come back without any worries. Overall, this laundromat was a great find on our trip--clean, friendly, with WiFi, coffee, and in a perfect location. Definitely recommend it if you're traveling through Berlin and need to do a quick refresh on your clothes. read more

I was going on my third week back in Berlin and ready to replenish a carry-on's worth of clothing, so the Freddy Leck Wachsalon was a useful Yelp find. It took me a while to get here via public transit from where I was staying in Ku'damm (bus stop was about a block away) but it was well worth the hassle for garment cleaning. They have plenty of machines, and I opted to drop my loads off so I could explore the area for a couple of hours. A homey lounge area is available though if you'd rather hang around and wait. They speak minimal English, but are very helpful and get the job done if you pay the extra fee for them to handle the washing for you. All in all, this is a decent and otherwise affordable place to get your laundry done in Berlin. read more

To keep packing down we usually plan to do laundry on longer vacations. Usually it's an awful experience - very expensive, and done in dirty surroundings with unpleasant people. This is the opposite. Impeccably clean, with a very friendly staff. I speak german so no trouble navigating the wash cycles, etc., and I don't know about the other-language ability of the staff, but all seems good here. Laundry is not cheap in Europe, period. This is on par with most, so I've noted it as inexpensive based on what I've paid elsewhere for not nearly as good an experience. The decor is also great - lots of laundry-related trinkets from all over the world. They also offer cappuccinos and cake! If you must give up 2 hours of your vacation to do clothes, this is the place to do it. read more

Travelling as a family of four we had a weeks worth of washing to do, our hotels laundry service was over priced and I found Freddy's Leck on Yelp. I had a huge bag of colours and one of whites, I left them with the very friendly staff who could speak fine English, collected later that evening, clean and smelling nice. 7.30e, per load. Our hotel did not offer laundry services, so we took a short Uber ride over because of reading the five star rating and good reviews. This laundry service is amazing! The lady working was kind and patient; showing me how to use the machines and assisting with purchasing laundry detergent. They have liquid or powder detergent available for under 1 euro per load as well as fabric softener options. We did our laundry onsite -wash, dry and fold. Nice tables and chairs inside and outside to wait. They also offer laundry services. Reasonable prices. You will not be disappointed! read more

We used Yelp (thanks, Yelpers!) to find this laundromat in Berlin. We are traveling around the world for 7 months, and need to do laundry every 2 weeks, or when the underwear runs out! We won't pay the exorbitant fees the hotels charge to do our laundry, so we choose to do it ourselves. The staff at Freddy Leck speak English, are very helpful, start the machines for you and sell detergent as well. It is a very clean and well run operation. Cute little laundromat! My partner and I had to take care of some late night laundry before heading off to our destination. We made it by 9:45pm and was able to wash and dry our clothes. This a fabulous laundry service- nothing is too much trouble, no over servicing and great advice on how to look after the clothes especially with using an industrial dryer. Going to Freddy's was a great experience!! They were very helpful especially because we do not speak German and didn't realize we bought fabric softner at the market instead of soap. They have everything there you need. Annise(not sure of the spelling) who works there, basically did everything for us. She even let us leave to go get lunch while she watched our machines and moved our clothes to the dryer. Highly recommend!!! By the way, we met Freddy the owner while folding our clothes. He is very nice and friendly. They speak English and have very reasonable prices as well. For our two loads we paid 10 euros. I would recommend this place to anyone! Especially if you are on a long vacation in Berlin and you need a fast place to wash your clothes! If I had known about this place before I could have packed so much less! My previous European laundromat in Frankfurt was difficult because I didn't know how to use the washers and trying to read German instructions was not fun. At Freddy Leck we had a very helpful lady who spoke perfect English. She helped us with the washers and dryers and 2 hours later we were done! The best part is you don't need coins! They tally up your use of the machines and you pay based on what you use! We cleaned clothes for a family of 5 and it cost us 23 Euros! There's also a very nice cafe bistro that serves cake, coffee and soft drinks. We absolutely loved this place! read more

Thank you Yelp users! For whatever reason, I hate going to the laundromat in a foreign country -- strange coins, strange machines, no one to help, etc. Freddy Leck was an absolute dream. The minute I walked in, a worker asked me (in English!) if I needed help. She proceeded to explain the whole setup and, in about 30 seconds, I had two loads of laundry going. There was no need to feed change into the machines as everything is centralized. You just pay the cashier when you're all done. Could not be easier. read more
