Warwick La Reine Astrid is an old hotel but comfortable. Located on a beautiful street, lined with serene mature trees, it's a short walk to the Parc de la Tete d'Or, a very nice public park and gardens, well worth strolling about (there is also a small zoo there). The rooms are really apartment-like suites, with a foyer, small kitchen, large living room, separate bedroom, and bathroom. The beds aren't as comfortable or plush as you'll find at more modern hotels, but they're certainly serviceable and there is plenty of room to spread out in. The hotel restaurant is excellent with outdoor seating on a patio (wonderful place for a summer evening meal), very good food and service. The hotel lobby is on the small side (like many old-school European hotels) and your room key is a quaint and old-fashioned skeleton key attached to a heavy brass fob -- no new-fangled cheap plastic card keys here! read more
