Now this is the sister/brother venue of the Radcliffe which I have already reviewed. Scarman had it's make over sometime before Radcliffe but it still looks as fresh as Radcliffe. I would say that getting onto Scarman's wifi is more efficient than accessing the one at Radcliffe.
The bedrooms have the same layout as Radcliffe but I always feel they are a little bit more modern, so if given a preference I would stay in Scarman, but I don't get a preference!!
The staff are all helpful as you would expect from staff in a conference/hotel venue the meeting rooms are well appointed with all the tech you could need.
There is a good sized lounge/bar area which has a couple of private rooms off it and a to of space to keep your group together. On a nice evening you can even sit outside and chat if you feel that way inclined.
My only bug bear would be that I experienced a fire alarm at 5am.... The alarm I had never heard but once I had over come the was I asleep or awake issue I knew what it was. Two things struck me about this the first was when I came out of my room I could see two fire exit signs pointing in opposite directions!!!! So I had a 50/50 chance!! Once outside we waited for what seemed like an age but in reality was about 20 minutes. Now no one told us to go back in but we saw people entering the hotel so we did the same only when I was inside the hotel did I see a fire marshal who said "false alarm".... Impressed not really
All in all a reliable venue which does exactly what it says on the tin. read more
