My daughter has attended the Little Warriors program for 4-6 year olds for a little over a year now. Unlike some other martial arts studios that my friends' kids go to, there's no sparring in this age group, mostly a focus on learning basic moves and drills. The kids seem to enjoy the last few minutes of every class where they do something fun like dodgeball. She is 7 now and hopefully will move to the next age group soon to learn even more TKD skills. The vibe is quite friendly among students, parents, and coaches, particularly from the dojang owners, the Legrows. Facility is clean and spacious. read more

As a parent I've always worried about my child not being able to protect himself from other kids, teenagers, and even adults. I enrolled him primarily to be able to defend himself but only after he joined did I see the other huge benefits. Not only am I confident that he can take care of himself, he shows more discipline, is in better physical shape, and has much more confidence in himself. I know these skills have built a good foundation and will help him succeeded as he continues to grow. All this is possible from the staff at Warrior code. The instructors are top notch from Master LeGrow, Coach Diaz, Mr. Steven, Ms. Annabelle, and Ms. Katy who bring their talents everyday providing a fun environment for learning, while challenging everyone to bring out the best in themselves. Mr. Anthony who is the office manager is also very helpful in keeping us informed with all events, schedules, and TKD gear. I highly recommend Warrior Code! read more

I originally wanted to start my child in a different martial art but she was just under the young age of 5 years old. Then we found Warrior Code Taekwondo and we never looked back. Almost 5 years later, I've watched my child develop more confidence, more self esteem and learn how to protect herself in different situations. We still work on the discipline aspect but I know her Taekwondo community is a wonderful place to work with. The instructors are patient, hard working and share the common goal of watching each and every student succeed and grow to their fullest potential. I'm not much for sharing testimonials, but I honestly DO recommend Warrior Code Taekwondo to everyone who's ever asked if I know of a good martial arts program. I mean, where else are you gonna find a Bully Proofing seminar with a martial art master/movie star/stuntman and all around amazing person? Or learn from phenomenal grand masters who travel overseas to teach you all they can in such a fun and informative way! And most importantly, the skills my child needs to be able to protect herself and get through some challenging life situations! Thank you Warrior Code!! L.G. (parent of S.G) read more

We started with Warrior Code a year ago and my child has looked forward to each and every class. There are options for all ages. Our family was new to martial arts but Warrior Code has taught us all so much and now we're part of their family. Don't look elsewhere, you won't regret it. read more

It's a great place for bettering yourself and your family. You will develop skills that you never thought you could develop. It's the closest one can get to having superpowers! You'll get in shape and learn to defend yourself. The owner is a nice man. His wife (who also instructs) is a little rough around the edges, but she does a great job encouraging students to be their best despite "not being in the mood" and motivation for persevering through tough times. Ha Tang is a great teacher. Master LeGrow tries really hard too. read more

I moved to the Bay Area to train at Warrior Code with Master LeGrow, and after only 6 months of working together, he helped me achieving my goal of making it to the podium one more time in the last World Cup. Master LeGrow is not only one of the best coaches in the world, but he's also an amazing Taekwondo instructor who truly honors the values and principles of Taekwondo and genuinely cares about each and every one of his students. Warrior Code is a big family who pushed me to be a better athlete and a better person and I couldn't be happier to call it home. read more

I have had decades of experience taking martial arts courses around the world, including Korea, Europe, the Middle East, and all over America. I trained with Navy Seals, instructors of Navy Seals, Army Rangers, top competitive MMA schools, coaches and the head coach of the Olympic Training Center for Tae Kwon Do, etc. (you get the picture). I collaborated with LAPD, LA City's attorney office, and high level US Secret Service operating in the private sector - though at times coordinating with heads of state when they came to our active locations. I do martial arts for fun, international competition, and for required training during / preparing for personal protection of high profile clients / families. Mr. Stephen and Ms. Ha operate a World Class martial arts school that offers a variety of experience depending on what the student is seeking, and allows for the student to continue to grow and learn as they themselves evolve. From a Professional standpoint, Stephen and Ha operate a rare school because it has a fun and engaging program for kids and families, and students. Yet on the competitive and self-defense side, they are top ranked in the world themselves and maintain a personal and instruction skill level that is proficient for actual self-defense. Coincidentally, my manager at work who I've worked under for 3 years was a student - including his sibling / family. His good health and athletic ability, discipline and talent to succeed at work has its roots in WC Academy. From a PERSONAL standpoint, Ha and Stephen are both people with big hearts and a strong desire to nurture and bring out the best in people they come in contact with. They both have a world view of personal and professional perspective of abundance and expectation of success. Materially and spiritually they demonstrate a strong faith and patience in people reaching their full potential. I am struck by their memory of my personal details and the thoughtfulness in considering the next improvements to all aspects of my life, education, and career. I recommend this school whole-heartedly and you do not have to travel the world looking for the best martial arts / self defense / military grade schools. I've done that myself. I also know this is not just my personal experience - I've seen the results of their students achieving their personal best success in school and career. Their staff like Mr. Farouk, Ms. Andrea, Ms. Athena, (I'm bad at names and forgot some) -- are hand picked and they attract other caring individuals accomplished in all aspects of their lives - whether they are currently students or professionals. This is a strong family, happy family, caring, and fun. If you have any questions as a potential student or current student - feel free to contact me. read more

We joined Warrior Code in June of 2017 and we are having such a great experience! The instructors are experts in their craft and also terrific human beings. They are really patient, encouraging, and fun to be around. My daughter has really thrived under their instruction. They are also great for adult learners too! I joined along with a bunch of other moms who were watching their kiddos take the class. It's been a fun experience for all of us. The instructors here not only take pride in the quality of their martial arts, but they also take time to foster the community as well. They support and coach students going to competitions and bring grandmasters and other tae kwon do experts into the school to help their students see themselves as part of the larger tae kwon do community. In addition, they build the community within the school by having regular parties, sharing their experiences and chatting up parents. They have very fair pricing and a generous introductory package. I encourage anyone interested in learning a martial arts to come check it out! read more

The head master, Master Legrow works well with kids and his admin staff, Andrea is easy to work with. However, the other instructor, Ms. Ha who is Master Legrow's wife is condescending and does not know how to work with children whatsoever. Bless her soul because she's going to have a baby of her own soon. Hopefully then this will give her real experience to be more understanding and patient. They have a program here that allows you to make up classes if your child is ill or on vacation. I really appreciated this flexibility because we go on holidays quite often. I had about 6 weeks of classes missed that I filled out in their google doc they provide if you need to miss class. Master Legrow offered one private lesson per each class week missed. Since my 5 year old son had such a disinterest for his lessons, we decided it would be a good idea to try out private lessons to see if it would peak his interest and keep him better engaged. However, my son begged me not to return to his lessons. Which I find odd, because my son is in many extra curricular activities from gymnastics, swimming, music to Kumon and does not have any qualms about those activities. I asked if I can transfer these lessons to a friend who still has her daughter going here because it'd be a shame to have the classes go to waste. They agreed but Ms. Ha did not honor what Master Legrow offered. Instead she says it is 1 private lessons for every 2 weeks of classes missed. I didn't want to argue and went ahead and transferred 3 classes to my friend. In addition, I also had another experience with Ms. Ha that made me want to stop my son's lessons but I stayed at the time wanting to teach my son the value of hard work and not quitting so easily. When my son was testing for one of his little color stripes, he did very poorly. He was not focused and was disengaged the entire test. Ms. Ha wanted to give him his stripe anyhow which I asked her not to because it would teach my child that you get awarded for no effort and that's not ok nor how life works. She didn't seem happy that I didn't want to reward him with the stripe and was a little argumentative about it. I'm not a tiger mom. I don't have any expectations except for my child to be exposed to a fun environment but the key word here is fun. He wasn't having fun. He wasn't trying and I was not going to just give him hand outs for a poor attitude. I guess Ms. Ha then felt embarrassed by her stance or became defensive I'm not sure but she goes on to something about "it's a blue stripe not blue belt. Let's set the correct expectations here." Because I referred their silly little pseudo stripes as a blue belt. Ms. Ha is obnoxious and rude but I've updated my review to a 3 star to be fair since the head instructor is passionate at what he does and works very well with the young kids. read more

If you want true ITF Taekwon-do, this is the school to go to. Steven LeGrow and Ha Tang are excellent instructors who genuinely care about the development of their students. Having personally trained with both of them myself, I know first hand how passionate they are about Taekwon-do and how they will give their all to give anyone the best possible experience on their martial arts journey. If you are a parent looking to get your child to develop confidence, technique and learn to defend themselves, bring them to Warrior Code. If you are an adult looking to get in shape, improve flexibility or core strength, while gaining mental strength and determination, come to Warrior Code. I have trained in multiple countries and can easily say that this school holds the highest standard of Taekwon-do of any in the USA. However long your journey takes I promise you it will be worth it and you will come to understand through the tenants of Taekwon-do and the excellent instruction from Steven and Ha, how amazing that journey really is. read more
