The park is spacious as a saw lots of spaces to walk and play sports. I also saw people play cricket in one of the fields. I think there was a playground, but I didn't pay close attention. I was more focused on the event, which had various vendors and stages showcasing music and pioneer reenactments. They used to have horses that kids (and a kid at heart that's me) can ride during the event, but they didn't have them this year. So, not sure if the park is equestrian friendly. But the park was clean and family friendly. It is a nice free park for sports, events, and family activities.

Joe Anglin designed the park to be more passive and appealing to adults as opposed to having more sports amenities like other area Orlando parks. The centerpiece of Cypress Grove is a 1925 two-story Estate House owned by one of the county's earliest tax collectors. The house has been renovated to accommodate weddings, showers, and other private events and the grounds have been landscaped to provide a lovely backdrop for events held on the grounds. . Other amenities in this park include a 1.2 mile loop trail for walking, running, and biking, a playground, picnic pavilions, fishing pier, dog park, sports fields, and restrooms. What stands out for me is how beautiful this park is. Spanish moss drips from oak and flowering crepe myrtle trees that provide shade over the parks walkways. Cypress Grove Park is spotlessly maintained. You can easily see why decades of Orlando families have been drawn to this recreational paradise.

My favorite part of the park were the paved walking paths that connect the different amenities in the park. The large size of Southport Park makes it ideal for annual events like the Orlando Renaissance Fair and Orlando Oktoberfest. Southport Park is a wonderful recreational resource for community sports, family gatherings, and walkers and jogger seeking a safe place to exercise. Come out for sports, fitness, and family fun. The thoughtful design, variety of amenities, and well kept outdoor spaces keep the Orlando community engaged.

As the name implies, this park is at its peak during azalea season, but don't be discouraged if these colorful blooms are till hidden- there is so much more to discover in this park. Take a walk along the path that meanders under the bridges and around the creek. You'll find tons of special spots where you'll want to pause, take a picture, and enjoy a moment of peace (just thinking about it is putting me in a zen mood!). The park also has a nice stage area which is small, but can be used as a wedding location (I've been a bridesmaid here!). I wouldn't recommend going to the park at night, as it doesn't have lights and can get a bit creepy, but during the day make sure to get your pup on a leash, pack a light lunch, and get ready for the best picnic ever!

It's always been, and still is, a lovely and peaceful park. Full of exploration, adventure, joy, with so many opportunities for so many types of events, get together, celebrations, etc. We reserved a multi-family sight and with support from the park staff we were able to use the group camp site that had a nice big bone fire ring, which is where we had our celebration. It's was just isolated enough from the rest of the park we were able to listen to music, talk, and go adventuring around a little bit. We're definitely coming back next year! This is the PERFECT park for a campfire, bone fire, lake swimming, and overnight camping.

I felt very comfortable walking along the path oh, my soul felt very at ease here. I see cats these little refuges within cities, these little retreats to what the world once was before progress put much of it under asphalt and cement. It is a great place to chill, to unwind, and to focus not so much as the world around you, but rather the world within you.

They have a small community pool, playground, workout equipment, picnic pavilions, and a lot of walking paths. There's tons of parking and, best of all, there's so many beautiful trees. It's the perfect park for settling down with a book because the trees provide so much shade; even at peak sun hours, the canopy keeps things from getting unbearable. I wish they would fix up the water fountain feature, but it looks like it's been out of order for awhile. I love this little neighborhood park and will definitely be back again.

You get to bring your own food and drinks. They also have a concession area where you can just your own food and drinks. At the state park, they have a concession booth and a restroom as well.
