The Historic Warner Theater, built in 1931, is a priceless gem, of a concert venue. One of the most ornate theaters that I have ever seen. I saw a live concert here, many years ago, Allison Krauss and Union Station, featuring Jerry Douglas, and it was a wonderful, sold-out show. The acoustics and lighting, as well as the music, were fabulous. This time I am here as part of the crew for the TEDx "Don't Give Up The Ship," event going on today. Yesterday I spent the entire day on site working, setting up, and operating the cameras, during the rehearsals. I also got a chance to explore the building a little, and love everything about it, both backstage and in the public areas. Beautiful, ornate, art-deco space, and the new wing has some cool items from the past on display. One thing is for sure, they don't make 'em like this anymore. The TEDx Erie event is today, and if you are reading this, and don't have any plans for today, come visit the Historic Warner Theater for the event. Starts at Noon, and tix are only $10 per person, you will be delighted with music, art, and very compelling speakers. If you are unable to attend, you can also stream it live online for free via . . . http://www.tedxerie.com/

Here we are 3 weeks later and I am still having to argue with this hotel and corporate Marriott about getting the points I PAID for. Their customer service is horrible and because of this I would never stay here again. Don't offer bonus points for a fee if you aren't going to honor it! This was my first time staying at this hotel and I really liked it. The staff were very friendly during checkin and checkout. I was able to use mobile checkin which was nice. The room was nicely updated and the bed was the shining star! So comfortable! The pillows were good too, but I brought my own as well. The room was clean and had a pretty view of the marina! The bathroom was nice, but very small. It was a bit awkward trying to get in and out of the shower without getting water everywhere since it was open on the end and the sides. Also there was only enough space for 1 person to get ready or have stuff on the counter. Refrigerator in the room was nice, but disappointed there was no microwave. I had access to the club lounge which was very meh compared to Hilton lounges. It was nice to have free breakfast and there were decent options. The afternoon snacks were a nice touch although they were limited and did not fit my dietary restrictions (gluten free). Coffee was Starbucks so that was nice. The gym was large and has a very pretty view overlooking the lake! On site restaurant/ bar was decent. Again very limited gluten free options. But the salmon was good.

We stayed at this hotel as a family of 5 (including an infant) and we were very comfortable for us. There's a smaller cafe in the lobby that serves coffee and breakfast. It was much better than I anticipated. We tried a few breakfast items and I think we may have enjoyed it more than the actual restaurant itself. We tried it on a very sunny day so no umbrella was going to help us from the sunshine and heat. The only downside is that there were some yellowjackets on the bushes during our meal, which we addressed with management. Not sure if they took care of it but it drove us inside to finish our meal. Had that not happened, we would have had a 5 star experience. The staff was incredibly knowledgeable and nice. We stayed over a few nights when there was construction and it detoured how we returned to the hotel. The nightly rate is quite high but it was overall such a nice experience I thought it was worth it. It was a bit annoying that we were also charged a parking fee given the rate. I think it should be included. Overall a great experience. If you plan to stay in Erie this hotel is your place!

Which I understand wanting to kill germs. Never saw a single staff member in the pool room or outside at the infinity pool which I found a little odd. Our skin still faintly smelled of chlorine even after showering. The laundry room was the only place I felt needed cleaning. There was a pair of underwear on top of a washer for two days. One dryer was out of order and I noticed a staff member was using the big washing machine which was odd seeing as they have laundry service for a hefty price tag. The lint trap on the dryer was disgusting. I scraped it clean with an old gift card so I didn't have to physically touch the lint. We desperately needed laundry done, but I wouldn't recommend using their laundry facilities. There wasn't a microwave in the room. The advertised "mini fridge" left everything barely cool. When we called down the next day, after losing any food we put in the night before, we were told, "it's more like a cooler than fridge". So we threw that food away for safety sake and then only put a few things in. There was a button to cool it for 2 hours. We tried to stay on a schedule clicking it. For the price of this hotel you'd think at least a fridge and microwave might be in the rooms. Add in the fact that breakfast wasn't included... it seems they were trying to do anything they could to make you reliant on their pricey restaurants and mini market. The restaurant food was good, drinks majorly overpriced. The mini market they have has not one price marked. When I asked about a price the desk clerk had no idea, but asked if I wanted to charge it to the room, which I did not. I skipped buying anything. Definitely had beautiful views, nice seating inside and out to enjoy the sunsets. I'd recommend it I guess. Just be aware you won't get much other than an uncomfortable bed for a big price tag, I ended up sleeping on the chair with added pillows and the ottoman. Also a view you can get for free at presque isle or dobbins landing. If money is not an issue for you this is the place for you.
