Warnemünde is a charming beachside resort town and in the summer it is a lovely place to visit. Tons of families pulling wagons filled with items for fun on the beach and lots of outdoor cafes along the pedestrian walkways and grassy fields with flowers. Larger clubs and businesses are along the breezy Seepromenade, but I preferred my time here in the shelter of the inlet.

Great walking area along the beach…read more Along the Baltic Sea and the north edge of the town is this strand with a few access areas to the beach. A wide walk way from the lighthouse for about 1 1/2 miles at the south edge of the huge beach. Enough room for several food trucks to serve on it. Also dotted along the way with some nice pieces of art and other statues. On the other side several boutique stores, restaurants and small hotels. Very clean and well maintained area.

For 2€ ( per adult) and climbing 139 steps, you will be rewarded with gorgeous views of Warnemünde…read more Tips/Highlights: + Open April - October from 10 AM - 7 PM, though the last entrance is at 6:30 PM +There are actually two different levels to take in the the views of the town. + The outside viewing areas do offer 360 degree views; however, the flow of traffic is not 360 degrees and can cause a bit of a traffic jam. Due to the way the door is held open, you have to turn around to get back and potentially walk against the flow of people waiting to take in the views as well. + The stairs are actually quite wide, and you can have people walk in both directions, albeit a bit tightly, up until step # 124. It is at this point that the steps become narrow and the ceiling high a bit low. If your over 5' 7'', you will need to watch your head. + It is best to go either right when they open, or later in the day to have a lesser crowd, as it is a main focal point in the town and attracts people to it. + If you wish for a souvenir, they do have a few items for sell at the entrance. You can also walk outside and the Teepott has stores and restaurants.
