Warnemünde is a charming beachside resort town and in the summer it is a lovely place to visit. Tons of families pulling wagons filled with items for fun on the beach and lots of outdoor cafes along the pedestrian walkways and grassy fields with flowers. Larger clubs and businesses are along the breezy Seepromenade, but I preferred my time here in the shelter of the inlet.

Great walking area along the beach…read more Along the Baltic Sea and the north edge of the town is this strand with a few access areas to the beach. A wide walk way from the lighthouse for about 1 1/2 miles at the south edge of the huge beach. Enough room for several food trucks to serve on it. Also dotted along the way with some nice pieces of art and other statues. On the other side several boutique stores, restaurants and small hotels. Very clean and well maintained area.

The walkway into town is along the port building closest to town. Walk around the end of the trains and across the bridge.

This was an ideal location to join our cruise…read more The Cruise Center is just a few minutes walk from the Warnemünde train station. Also, on our particular cruise, most of the passengers embarked in Copenhagen, so there were absolutely no lines getting on or off the ship. Just outside the cruise center there are a few restaurants, bars and gift shops. Walk just a few minutes farther and you are in the center of Warnemünde which is a really quaint town. Most visitors will want to make a day trip to Berlin, which is several hours away, but we had a blast just relaxing and strolling around town.
