Creating less harsh plant based soaps and other products. My wife and I both have been trying to be more thoughtful in our shower products and soaps as well. So this brand is a great example of what is available. You step foot indoor and your nose is greeted with a variety of scents immediately. We then browsed their wide variety of products that included hand soaps, bath bombs, candles, body wash, laundry products, and the most abundant seemed to be their soap bars. Everything had a ton of scent options and especially their soap bars had a ton of color variety with a lot of them being bright and intense. Prices seemed reasonable for what you got for most things. As you may know typically healthy stuff with less additives and less harsh usually cost more as they aren't as mass produced. While we didn't buy anything this particular visit it's a brand I will remember in the future. The real reason for the knock down of a star to 4 instead of 5 comes down to the customer service or should I say lack of. We checked out a lot of places during our visit to Tuscan Village and almost every place multiple people greeted us with a "hello" or "hey how is it going" with the only exception being here. Not even an acknowledgment when walking in, or offering to answer any questions. Both people working seemed much too focused on their computers than to care for customer interaction. A little effort can go a long way in this aspect. In the end I like the goal of Buff City Soap and their products seemed awesome just could work on their customer service.

I have also purchased their lip balm, which is amazing in keeping my lips moist. The other day I stopped by their shop in Newburyport to replenish my oils. Since I absolutely love their shop, I always browse their new products. I ended up purchasing "Soothe," a cream, recommended for the aftercare of mosquito bites. I was skeptical, as I had tried many creams to stop the itch and to cool the feeling of fire ants crawling all over my forearm, which was the effect I experienced after a mosquito bit me last summer. My arm itched and broke out every night for months afterwards. To my surprise, Soothe stopped the itch and breakouts immediately after using it. Now my skin has been restored to its normal condition. (It felt like paper after the bite.) I am so grateful. I thought I would never find a solution. I went back the next day to let them know the cream worked amazingly well and to pick up their other seasonal cream, Cedar, which has also helped to restore the skin on my forearm. If you plan to give them for gifts, they are all ready to hand out! I love that there is a "portsmouth" soap sleeve and its cute that they named some of the soaps after things or areas around the town such "prescott gardens", "whaleback lighthouse" etc. There are other things to choose from there aside from soaps and have plenty of accessories and gift items as well. The staff was very pleasant during our visit and we actually enjoyed chatting about how she was from NY, moved to NH and loved it.
