There is a small number of children at each session, so each child gets a fair amount of attention. There is very little learning involved though, it is mostly play. My daughter loved it though. It is right next door to The Greville Primary School, so plenty of introduction and discussion about the idea of going to big school. I found that it was like a natural progression for her to go to the school next door when it was time, kind of going to the next class up.

The school does not have any playing fields on site but it does have a lovely garden on site which is used by the children in the summer at break times. It even elects its own councillors in the local elections, such is the continued strength of community and lack of faith with polictians. So much so that Gordon Brown visited this school two days before the recent general election to try and turn Merton Park's independent voters Red. The safe suburbia of tree lined houses makes Merton Park a desireable place to bring up your offspring. As the elder of two sprogs that attended this school many moons ago I see young children heading for Merton Park First school with the same enthusiuam I used to head for Merton Park Primary school back in the last century. It is for this reason I will not mention current teaching standards. Apart from being the social glue of the community of many families, along with the church, doctors and denist surgary. Merton Park primary is a fantastic, tiny school. Built in a shape it has a small intake each year of around 30, whom can start at the pre-school level which has its own section seperated within the small complex and takes pupils up to the age of 11. There are excellent play and security features in this school to entertain and captivate your children. I cannot promise that attending this school will turn your child into a world-beater (like me), or super popular (again like me) or a modest well rounded indiviual (like my little brother), but it will place you in the community, allow you and your child to make friends and allow you to acheive the desired results of living in one of London's most Independent piece's of state run suburbia.

Before this I was at a state school in Chipstead, then I moved here. I then understood how brilliant Cumnor was, in terms of its education, teacher support, activities, facilities and possibilities. It really set me on the straight and narrow towards getting into my chosen secondary school. I found that Cumnor perfectly sets you up for later life and has a really wonderful vibe about it. Recently they have also opened up a nursery for younger children in their privately owned school fields and grounds.

The teachers are all very nice and eager to help where they can. Over the past couple of years, a lot of time and money has been put into redoing the grounds of the school for the children and it has paid off. They now have new play equipment, a much tidier, nicer ground and with the extra security measures, I feel safe with my daughter being there.

It was set up by just two people last year and has flourished since. You can find Crafty Wizards in Eltham off of the main road which makes it a safe little location for children. This pre-school is like no other as it offers education through creativity and art. It's an amazing place that welcomes children from all walks of life to join in with creative, colourful play. The people who work here are friendly and so very caring it is the perfect pre-school for any child between the ages of 2 and 5. There is not a single thing I can fault them for, although once a few years have passed an even better location and building may be an investment.
