Someone that cares about Valdosta needs to buy the area and resurface the parking lot. Maybe get some decent stores to move in and it would be another place to shop instead of (lol) the mall. The liquor store tried to look upscale but the area is NOT! Don't waste your time.

As avid cigar smokers we began looking for a cigar lounge. We found Stogies Downtown and it was well reviewed. There was free parking on the street within 100', There are 4 different seating areas each with their own distinct charm and design. A nice sized humidor with many of the standard fare. The hostess/bartender was friendly and helpful. It has all the charm and ambience of a good cigar lounge. Free Wi-Fi as well. The only suggestion I could make was additional ingredients to make an Old Fashioned. I love a good one with my cigar but settled for a shot of whiskey instead.

If any drawback, the pacing got very slow while awaiting main courses to arrive. Granted, we had at least a dozen folks needing food all at once so that's a challenge anywhere. We didn't start until 7:30 but when it's going on 9:30 pm before food arrives, it feels long. But again, this was a good experience overall & for a locally upscale restaurant, the prices were reasonable, especially considering you got two sides PLUS a salad with your entree (& significantly below the "upscale dinner" we'd had in downtown Savannah the night before). I got a spinach salad with my fried shrimp, squash casserole & Gouda grits. I splurged to add a scallop for $4.50. It was fine but probably wouldn't do next time. A passable cocktail to start & good iced tea with dinner. There were appetizers for the table that were fine but not remembering specifics. Try it.

We were greeted with a smile the second we walked in, and our server was friendly and attentive the whole time. A+ for vibes and service. Now, the food... oof. We started with the appetizer special of the night, which, shockingly, was the best thing we had--and it was aggressively mid. Everything that followed? Two thumbs down. The peas I ordered as a side; I swear were marinated in red onion slivers for several decades. Even after picking out all the visible onion, (as shown in pictures) it still tasted like Shrek's bathwater. If I had ordered this on a first date, I would've just gone home to save us both the trauma of onion breath. There's no way a single person has ever eaten this dish and said, "Wow, that was delightful." I'd actually pay money to see the facial expressions of anyone taking a bite. My partner's mashed potatoes? So dry and dense I could've thrown them at a wall and they'd stick. Come back the next morning and they'd be holding up drywall. Not a single drop of moisture in sight. I asked for crushed red pepper for my flatbread (thinking maybe it could be saved). No - No pepper flakes. Apparently none of their flatbreads are allowed joy or spice. Even if they did have red pepper, I don't think it would've saved it. Best thing we had all night? My partner's chicken. And even that was dry. So, that says a lot. Final verdict: come here for a drink and a snack before going somewhere else for the actual meal. It's a great pregame spot, but if you're hungry-hungry, keep walking.
