I came in to get a bridesmaid dress hemmed, only needing about 3 inches off. I had a great first appointment with Ron but unfortunately was extremely disappointed with the rest of my experience. Ron neglected to communicate with me that he had moved locations so when I showed up to my final fitting, he was not there. When I called him he told me he'd have it ready the next day at his new location. Instead, he preceded to reschedule at the last minute two more times stating he needed more time for the dress. When I finally got my dress back the stitching was sloppy and uneven - definitely not the quality I expected for $75.

And the final product for our wedding. I've never looked so good! And it was all Ron's doing!

I've only ever had my clothes slightly altered by local dry clean shops. But I knew for my wedding that wasn't going to be good enough. But I also didn't know where to start. So I literally Googled "best tailor Philadelphia", and the top result was a Philadelphia Magazine article listing Wardrobe Clinic as the best in the city. So I called them. Ron answered, and immediately made an appointment with me just a few days later and said he could do the turnaround in a couple of weeks. I got my suit from Bonobos and already thought it looked pretty good, but I had NO idea how much better suits can be, especially in the hands of someone like Ron. You can call or text him any time, and I don't think I ever had to leave a voicemail. He was very responsive. At first, I think I thought his prices were a little high, but if you compare each individual service he does on a suit, and the quality--it's a steal. He does more tweaks to garments than your typical dry cleaners or generic tailor would, and the quality of work is amazing. But the real magic was Ron himself. He is kind, engaging, knowledgeable, and strikes the perfect balance between the "I'll do whatever you want" kind of professional, and the "I can guide you and suggest things to make this look even better" type. I *think* most people probably take a garment in and have only one round of alterations done and they're happy. I was so indecisive, though--not knowing about how clothes ought to fit and changing my mind about how I wanted it to fit. Ron was incredibly patient with me. I went back three times to get little tweaks, and one time was even after he offered to let me take it home and just situ with it for a bit. He willingly took it back and did a couple more things. And it was all included in the original price for the alterations. And it all paid off. I still don't think I've ever, in my entire life, looked as good as I did on my wedding day (I didn't hold a candle to the bride, but that's as it should be). I even had Ron do a second suit for me. This guy is my tailor, as long as he's in business, and I won't even think of going anywhere else. In short, Ron and the Wardrobe Clinic are old school professionals that know what they're doing and treat their work as a true craft in which they take great pride, and they treat their customers as real humans. They care for you and your garments and make you feel really good about your decision to use them. I see others here have had occasional bad experiences. That happens in every business, and I hope and trust each of those things got resolved. But as for me, it seems that Ron and Wardrobe Clinic are, across the board, the best tailoring in Philly. COVID-19 Note: I had all this work done in the Summer and Fall of 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic. Ron was safe and masked at all times, and requested that I and my fiancée were as well. He was incredibly conscientious and considerate, and even made face masks out of leftover material from my suits so they'd match!

Ron is amazing !!!!!!!! my sister's wedding is coming soon and I brought a beautiful dress Online from jjhouse !!! The dress was amazing but it was approximately 4 sizes bigger. I was really stressed and Ron saved my life. He gave me a good price and was on time. Strongly recommend this place !!!!

The absolute worst service expirance I have ever had... I went in on october 31st witb my Michael Kors blazer. I initally just needed it let out slightly and the sleeves shortend. Ron talked me into a bunch of other things. Including 1. Re-working the sholders. 2. Tapering the sleeves. 3. Shortening the length of the jacket slighttly And I than figured since he was doing all of the above. Mightaswell remove the pocket flaps... as I prefer jetted pockets. And hate when the flaps pull out. Total bill came to 209.00 With a pick up of Nov 29th (1 day shy of a full month) I texted his assistant on monday the 27th. And was assured my jacket would be ready for pickup on the 29th as promised. 3pm on the 29th I get a call from ron saying he hasnt finished it yet and asking if I could pickup on the 30th after 3pm insted. On the 30th I show up at 3:15. "Not finished yet. Can you come back in 45 mins to an hour" Sure. Than 4:30 rolls around get another text. "Pickup at 5:30" Ok Than. "Sorry make it 6, or we can deliver to you" When I get there ron tells me he only had yime to let it out,Do the sleeves,And pocket flaps. So after one month, over half of the work I paid him for is not complete. Funny. It was all the extras he talked me into that were incompleete... but the sleeve length and jacket width now fit fine. Ron asks me to come back next week and drop it back off to be completed agter my event. I say ok. Than i get home and start looking more closley at the jacket. The sleeve buttons are reattached like a 4 year old did it. And one of the pockets has an open seam. I sent pictures to Ron demanding a refund. Because now i need to take this jacket to somebody else so that they can hopefully correct the way he butchered this jacket. As of today. 3 days later. No response. Best of philly? Maybe if he is tailor to the blind. Update: Ron finally answered me. (only after this review was posted.) and offered first to fix, than refund and fix. Im taking the refund. but there is no way I will ever let him touch anything I own again. Update #2... this saga just gets better and better... show up to pickup the refund Ron promised... hes nowhere to be found. Call him, no answer. Txt him. 15 mins later recieve one back " I will have to rescedule so sorry" I respinded by sending him my paypal and venmo info asking him to process my refund that way... Im not holding my breath. And will be reporting this whole sitiation to the BBB.

Ron was very professional and able to beautifully hem my girlfriend's dress in 45 minutes hours before New Year's Eve!

My girlfriend needed a dress last minute for a formal event. Luckily, she found something that fit a BCBG but needed to be hemmed. BCBG highly recommended Ron. We called him and he met us immediately. He was friendly, professional, very skilled and FAST (45 min turnaround). I would definitely recommend using him!

Ron saved the day for me! I had a wedding I was in this past week and the person that was originally supposed to alter my dress couldn't do it. Ron was able to alter my dress within hours of dropping it off! He was extremely kind, quick, and produced high quality work! I will definitely return in the future! If you are looking for a great tailor choose the wardrobe clinic! You won't regret it! Thanks again!

The final product that Ron made fit perfectly!

I found Ron through Yelp, and am so glad that he was able to help me! I had a bridesmaid dress in need of some serious help- the shoulder needed to be shortened, the waist needed to be taken in, the hem needed to be shortened, and their was a fault in the construction of the two layers, causing the slit to not lay properly. The finished dress fit perfectly, and the price was worth the amount of work that needed to be done. Ron was very helpful throughout the process from start to finish, and I will definitely return in the future!

They didn't know me as I had called a few minutes before and asked them if they could fix a sports top of mine that my dog had ripped the strap off of and then also fix my pants that were too long. They happily obliged. I was able to quickly go I into the makeshift dressing room they had, came out, and then one of the women got to work and started using pins to allocate the area that has to be trimmed. She was very patient and asked me if the length was ok several times. Whilst doing this and changing back into my other clothes, the other lady had already stitched the strap on my sports top. I was beyond happy. For my romper that they also offered to dry clean, they told me to return after a week and gave me a yellow ticket to note the date/time. I indeed returned about a week and half later to pick up my romper. It was neatly pressed and hemmed just right. They reminded me of a seamstress I went to back home in Miami. I feel lucky I found this store (thanks to Yelp of course). They had great reviews. How could I not? Should I need them again, I would definitely be back.

I don't have a typical Chinese woman's body. I was raised in America and I somehow was blessed/cursed with being very top heavy and don't fit it normal Chinese sizes. The first store I went to with my mom in flushing NY had a very rude woman who continued to tell me that I'm such an American and am too big and nothing In her store would fit me and that I would need something custom made for over $400 dollars. The second store, also in flushing told me very similar except she was much better and searched her stock. She was able to find a qi pao that fit me. However, she also recommended given my figure, to custom make something as well. Finally my cousin and his now wife got married late last year and recommended I visit Dia Boutique in Philly. Now it's a bit of a drive for us but we heard great recommendations and figured we make a day trip out of it. I can not say enough nice things about the owners of this store. Dia boutique is a small store who somehow knew their customers needs. They didn't tell me that I was fat or that I was so American. They actually complimented me and told me how excellent my Cantonese was and how she wants to help me find the perfect dress. They had several dresses I fit into in multiple different color variations. When they didn't have my size for a red one, the owner went out of their way to find me my traditional red one that I wanted and was successful at it! While searching for it, I also found a beautiful white one I fell in love with. We also found my fiancé a nice top as well. We left the store, so happy, and having only spent $210 for 3 items when flushing would have cost me over $400 for just 1. I can not say enough great things about Dia boutique and the lovely owners who made me laugh, made me feel comfortable and helped me find my dream qi pao for my wedding. Super impressed!

Amazingly, Steve was kind enough to include me in some select items he was doing on Monday, his normal day off. (I wouldn't expect him to do this for everyone.)
