An almost necessary resource in today's job market. First worked with this company almost 8 years ago when I was unceremoniously laid-off after a corporate restructure. They were professional, got to the point quickly, and remade my resume' and LinkedIn. You need to be willing and able to calculate the inputs and your performance to get quality results here. But quality and professional results you'll get. A couple hundred dollars of investment turned into thousands more in income because of this company's work. And I am grateful. read more

This review is no measure on Ward's professionalism: They were kind and very professional and always responsive. For context, I was in a rough spot in my career. I was unemployed for a while working temp jobs and couldn't get hired. My career has been all over the place, and I haven't stayed at one job very long. I knew I needed the best resume writer I could get and knew it'd be expensive. I found Ward, and took out a new credit card and spent $1000 cause I was going broke and losing my mind. The results just weren't great. I was actually getting worse results than I had before. After 8 months I hadn't gotten a single interview. I'd reached out to Ward to see about helping me out but ended up editing it myself after they'd told me it already aligned with the roles I was applying for. They were responsive and got back to me but I realized there was nothing they could do to fix my problem. It wasn't just a resume problem, I also had issues with being qualified for the role I was actually applying for (This came up with recruiters). I also had issues with Ward's process. They aren't miracle-workers, they're going to write a resume exactly how you tell them to write it. But the problem is one doesn't always know what they need. I'm not a resume writer so I don't know why my previous resume isn't working, or what best belongs on my current resume or what is the most significant parts of my life that align with my role. They don't find the subtext, they don't notice themes. They don't quite tell your story in a way no one else could. They're not able to bring to light the things hidden in your career or life. If you don't tell them it's not going to be on there. They're fantastic formatters but that's about it. Which is great for a person who's had a very straight and simple career path and is looking for a good looking resume. A big part of their process is beating the ATS system, which is great but doesn't mean it will please the recruiters well enough to get you in the door. Resumes need to sell you and be pleasing to the eye. I feel like Wards approach failed in this regard for someone who's career path wasn't very linear. They focus more on keywords than looking good and being pleasing to read. If you've worked a very linear career (same path in the same industry) Ward is great I'm sure. But if you haven't had a straight path, are frustrated in your career and want to switch careers, or your resume sucks and you don't know why you'll need another service. Also if you're having trouble selling yourself in ways that have been previously null, Ward misses the mark. I ended up having to go to another competitor resume writer who not only wrote a better resume but realized in our consultation I was searching down the wrong path. I'm in a totally different role now. Something he helped me discover before writing a resume for a role that wasn't my fit. I appreciate Ward's professionalism, and respect that their many positive reviews are there for a reason. Just didn't work out for me. read more

I owe a lot to Ward Resume Writers. In 5 years, I've used them twice for myself and once for my wife. They helped me make the leap to director and I'm pretty confident that it was the way they crafted my resume and linkedin that opened up doors to interviews- because before I was having no such luck. My wife had one position in mind. Secured the interview from the resume and then got the job. Highly recommended, furthermore, I calculated that this investment has had the biggest financial returns to my family in the past 5 years. Comparing that you my vanguard 401k....me buying stocks during the 2020 crash.....and a crypto player! This tells a story in itself. read more

After vetting three different career counseling and resume writing agencies, Ward Resumes distinguished themselves as proficient in their trade. The entire process from beginning to end was seamless. And most importantly the finished product was worth every penny. I availed myself of their resume writing and Linked profile updating service. They were able to create a much more cohesive and compelling resume than I ever could have. And they also focus on creating a resume that is visually appealing and easy to read. I have recommended them to many colleagues who have been equally impressed with their talent and dedication to helping others advance their careers. Thank you Ward Resumes! read more

I was in denial I needed help on my resume, given the results now I'm extremely happy I did, probably my best investment in the past year.....here is my scenario; I've been applying for several "higher" positions than what I'm in now....I wasn't get any take up. 6 weeks ago I paid for ward resumes to do my resume and LinkedIn....6 weeks later I've just accepted a job offer $23k higher than what I'm on. I owe it to these guys. I Looked around at several San Diego resume writers...I went with these 1. Because of his customer service, he wasn't pushey and was timely in responding to me 2. Their website is hands down better than the others. To the point and looked nice...good sign for a writer. 3. Their samples. They really did stand out. Each one had a wow factor. Ward Resumes was the best investment I've ever made. We recently hired Chris to construct a resume for my husband in order to advance his career. Chris was amazing to work with. He is patient, professional, and innovative. He worked his magic and created a masterpiece of a résumé for my husband. We are so excited about searching for jobs now. I highly recommend this company. Money well spent. We couldn't be happier with the results! read more

START your job search here. I have used Ward resumes three times now and continue to be impressed each time. I have used their cover letter, resume and LinkedIn services and will continue to use them for refreshes as needed. Chris is very responsive, considerate and a true team mate on each project. If you are driven and want results don't waste your time with someone else. read more

If you have any hesitations about your job search OR using a writing service DON'T and call Ward Resumes. I needed to upgrade from a post graduation resume to a professional version and they did the job in the first draft. From my first application it took 45 days to get the final offer I wanted. I made it to the final round of three separate positions; all of which were title promotions and a minimum 15% pay increase. I had multiple interviewers comment on the resume specifically. Their prices were above the competition but after shopping around I didn't consider the others to be competition. It was money well spent on a cover letter and resume. Don't wait any longer in your job search and call them immediately. read more

I am incredibly pleased that I decided to partner with Ward Resumes to refresh my resume and LinkedIn page. Chris and the team were very responsive from the start, and guided the entire process with a lot of feedback and updates along the way. You still need to provide the critical content, but they make everything look so professional and really help with 'action wording' and tying everything together. I am pleased to say that I landed a great new job within a short time frame after utilizing their services, and I would gladly recommend to my own family and friends. Its an investment in yourself! read more

For the amount of time, effort, and most outrageously, money I spent on my resume, after 8 months of using and adapting the resume, cover letter, and LinkedIn profile with Ward, it was all extremely useless. I do not recommend you waste any of your money on this service. Instead look up Wonsulting - they are excellent and WAY cheaper. read more

Let him help you to know a better you. This is what I thought when I got my resume from Christopher beside endless excitement and happiness. He is way beyond excellent. I feel much more confident after I received my resume and cover letter. We had an appointment at 1:00 PM and he called at at exactly 1:00:00, which is truly awesome and shows what kind of team this is. Give them a try and I am telling you it will worth every penny. Enjoy and good luck to all. read more

I couldn't be happier with the outcome of my resume. Chris was such a professional. He asked me questions that I didn't even think about or thought mattered to have on my resume. The layout was straightforward and very much updated from my version. I had an over flow of responses once I started submitting the resume Chris completed for me. When I submitted the original, I didn't get a single call or e-mail. Chris was able to sum up what I did and make it stand out to new employers much better than I. I was made several offers, which I knew my awesome new resume got me in the door for. I also didn't give Chis much of a window to complete because I was trying to reach a deadline - he got in done for me in a week, with drafts before hand. Any requests I made he worked his best to get done for me! Not only did he do an incredible job on my resume he also perfected my LinkedIn page, which I couldn't be more proud of now! I highly recommend them to anyone who is serious about a new job. He will make doors open for you! I'm pretty sure he guarantees that or he will redo it. read more

The services that Ward Resumes gave me has been invaluable - Chris took my old resume and completely revitalized it. His approach to differentiating me from the crowd, synthesizing my most relevant and valuable achievements, and then streamlining it all into one concise yet eye-catching document - I couldn't have imagined doing it myself. His attentiveness to my objectives, concerns, and experience was clearly shown in the final "product" that I received. I can't recommend Ward Resumes enough! read more

Very impressed, I am in sales and they shortened my resume and made it stand out more than I could of ever imagined, I ended up getting an interview and landed the job I have wanted since i moved to san diego, so pleased and recommend Brittanys team! read more

I have been trying to move out of CA to TN. I was not getting any traction with my current resume until I hired Chris. My initial interview with Chris made me realize how much value a service can add to the process. I have an MBA and writing is my thing, but this style of writing is different thing. I applied for 6 jobs after the final resume was given to me and the interviews started. I accepted a position with another, but my company made me an offer to relocate which I could not pass on. Even though I have not landed the job I wanted, I have been promoted and on a better path. I will rehire Chris in 12 months to edit my current resume for me as styles change and I want to keep the professionals working on my resume. HIRE THESE GUYS!!! You will not regret it. read more

I'm sat in the airport having just left an interview yesterday. They just offered me the job. Granted interview was down to me, but the resume I had written by Brittany got me in the door. The interviewer commented on how "impressive" my resume was. And it was only 1 page! (Two pages before I utilized these guys). Very happy and can't recommend them enough as effective resume writers. It looked good, sounded good, elevated my resume substantially, but most importantly it worked. read more

I cannot say enough great things about Chris and the team at Ward Resumes! I never realized how much help my resume needed until their experts reviewed it and worked their magic! Not only has the content improved but I am thoroughly impressed with the new layout they chose for it. It really highlights my skills and what sets me apart from other candidates right away with is key when a busy hiring manager reviews hundreds of resumes and is only after to spend a few moments on each. I truly believe my new resume is what led to my new job that I love! I had been looking for a new job for a while but had not received any call backs. After I started sending out my new resume I received several call backs and am now at a great new company! Thank you! read more

I made a review about Ward Resume and I am happy to find that this company is on yelp also. I just wanted to write that I couldn't be happier with the product Ward Resumes provided to me. I already have a job lined up that is beyond my wildest dreams. When I was fired from my old job working at a detox the only hope I had was to hire Ward Resumes. With all my will power I couldn't reformat my resume to anything besides working in treatment and Ward Resumes did a professional, timely, and excellent job. I went into interviews where the person interviewing me would just stare at my resume. Definitely hire Ward Resumes! read more

Found these guys by chance on the yelp map. I was hesitant at first to use a resume writer, but now ive got my resume back I can see how out of touch i was with my old resume, it looks really professional, but not boring and plain. The language used is really good and their consultation made me think of things i would of never of though of putting on my resume. Very pleased. Although, don't bother with going to the office for the consultation, opt for the phone consultation. read more

This review is strictly based off their pricing as I have not used them to actual revamp a resume. I inquired with this company for resume services for my mother. I sent an email and within a day or so received a response asking me to send in a copy of my mother's resume for their quick review. I did so and within another day or two got a response that appeared to be a template email that is used for all or most people who would reach out to this company for services. Not a bad thing just an observation. But while reading over the response email the company provided me with a list of pricing options ranging from $700-$900 depending on the type of service you need. This is where my concern lies. I am all for businesses getting what they deserve and pricing their product accordingly. I was willing to spend a couple of hundred dollars for a re-vamped resume. But there is a part of me that feels that the pricing provided by this company is outrageous for people who are unemployed and need to get back into the swing of things. Unemployed people, generally, have strict budgets and spending this amount of money on a resume that is not GUARANTEED to get you employed is asking a bit much. On the contrary, for those individuals who are looking to possibly change careers from one mid-level corporate job to another this company may be the perfect solution. But for those who just need to get back into the market with strict budgets or no budget this is not the way to go. There are other companies out there that can provide an excellent product at a fraction of the price. read more

Ward resumes was the best investment I made in myself. Before Ward resumes my data wasn't current or modern and in need of up dating. A resume is like a little black dress. I did a fair amount of research into a professional resume writer. I am extremely pleased with Ward Resumes. One thing that seemed to set them apart for me was that they are collaborative and focus more on something unique and customizable, i.e. I don't just feel like another generic churned out resume template. Visually their resumes are hands down better than any I could find. Great experience! read more
