The solicitor who represented me was a partner in the firm either knew so little about divorce proceedings that he wasn't even aware that he should advise me on issues such as inheritance and pension entitlement, or just couldn't be bothered to do his job properly. I subsequently brought a successful action for professional negligence against Kerwoods and they paid me £12,500 in damages but seriously, if you want to avoid the aggro I had to go through with them, instruct a different firm.
