Great experience for my annual appointment. Up front pricing. On time and efficient. Dr listened to my requests. Highly recommend.

These guys are great. I have been going here for two years and I would highly recommend GVL…read moreEyecare. If I may regale you with a short story: Once upon a time, there was a fella who needed an updated eye prescription. This particular fella, lets call him Neil Myopia, hasn't been to the eye doctor since Oedipus was on speaking terms with his father. Neil has worn contact lenses and despised them. Like hated them more than he hated the twangy music stylings of Johnny Cash. He has worn glasses since his university days 20 years ago and generally prefers the ease and comfort of slipping on a pair of spectacles when he needs to look smart or see the ever increasing wrinkles developing around his ankles, a rare condition known as "wrankles". Mr Myopia made an appointment with GVLEA and was seen in a prompt manner. Everything checked out so he ordered a new pair of shades. With his renewed confidence in his ability to read billboards and road signs, he needed a new, confident image. He chose a pair of pricey Smith glasses and was on his way. A couple weeks later, the sunglasses arrived and Neil went to pick them up. As he put the glasses on, he immediately felt discombobulated. Yes, his penchant for dropping acid, heavily indulging in mimosas or playing dizzy bat, sometimes concurrently, often causes skewed vision, he was surprisingly sober on this occasion, yet still felt as though he was circling down the slide in the rabbit hole of Alice in Wonderland. Neil thought to himself "It's been a while since I changed scripts, so my eyes need to adjust." A month and many Dramamine pills later, the sensation of being in a mirrored fun house while on a crappy Carnival Cruise never abated. Neil made his way back to the doc for a remedy. It looks as though the wrapping style of glasses requires a different prescription than flat reading glasses. Neil, frustrated by these developments, left his glasses with the doc for repair. Another two weeks later, the stylish shades were acquired at Neil's convenience and he was back to feeling normal again. He appreciated the savings to both his liver and wallet by being able to achieve full-on drunk level eyesight without the precious liquid in his system, but enough is enough!! I hope you are enjoying this tale of a weary traveler desperately seeking corrective vision. Our story continues- After only three to four months, the lenses in the sunglasses began to develop scratches of enormous size. Although usually drunk and often pugilistic, Neil didn't remember being in a scratch fight with a litter of feral lynx. He had no scratches on his body, but what else could explain the large, cavernous claw marking across his lenses? He paid extra for the "cougar level" scratch protection. Perhaps an upgrade to "rabid lion" would have sufficed. Fortunately, he was able to replace the lenses free of cost since they were still under warranty. Even with the set-backs, Neil felt well taken care of. The doc stands behind her product (but don't stand behind a bobcat during "that time of the month"). Things happen and people make mistakes. As long as you admit fault, stand by your product and rectify any wrongdoings, Neil is happy. Now Neil is free to sail the 7 Seas, drinking grog and keeping his diseases to the current strain, while being comforted in the fact that he will be able to see those sores develop on his wrankles and happily chanting "Land Ho" when the next archipelago is still miles away. The End

I had a question about my prescription and called the office, it was nice I got an answer right then instead of like most places having to wait for a callback. From the time I entered the door to the time I walked out my experience here was phenomenal. I will definitely use them again and would recommend anyone else to use them as well!!

They also sold Case pocket knives and had a fine display of them. We moved to Greenville in 1976 and it was just about that time that Fowler's started carrying sunglasses and it was also just about that time that I got my driver's license for the first time. Ever since then, Fowler's has been the place to go for sunglasses. So much so, that I never even noticed if they sold comics or pocket knives too. There are hundreds of choices and price ranges. My son, who just recently got his driver's license for the first time, came here and spent around $150 in birthday money getting some Ray-Bans (one pair) while I was able to buy three for $25 of no-name polarized, different style sunglasses. Yes, three pair for $25. We both left the building with the sun blocked from our eyes, and I thought mine looked every bit as cool as his. Something for everyone and a home town institution for around 60 years. Oh yeah, they still have a pharmacy too.

We were right on Lauren's Road, so I thought I'd stop in again, as I saw large Ray-Ban signs on the building. It seemed that I remembered Fowler's having good prices back in the day, but this time, they were actually more expensive than the Ray-Ban site. Ray-Ban had specials on their most popular sunglasses on their site for Labor Day. Fowler's had a discount case, but I didn't see any specials on their better supplies. They definitely have the great products, and they know their products, so if you're looking for convenience, Fowler's will be a good place to shop.

Heitman, Hack and Williams for complex eye problems. And in every case, at every visit, I have been struck by their kindness, compassion and their extraordinary professionalism. All the staff have treated me with that same consideration. I have friends who have gone there for years--and all say the same about their doctors and their experience. During my last visit, I mentioned to Dr Williams that I had recently told a friend that if I ever need us spirit lift, all I'd have to do is stop in Southern Eye! She walked out after 3 minutes. 10 minutes later Dr Cole came in to tell me, he was cancelling the appt and I could reschedule when someone can watch my dog. I said, I am not coming back. They tried charging me. I called my insurance to tell them not to pay, Dr Cole cancelled the appt after he slept in. I went to the front desk several times during the hour and half and none of them could tell me why I was still waiting. Went to Jervey Eye Group and had the greatest experience.
