Very disappointing experience - not the professional diagnostic promised…read more I booked my car in with VolcanMotors for what was clearly advertised and verbally confirmed as a professional and detailed diagnostic. When I made the booking, the owner assured me they would carry out proper due diligence and identify the root cause of the issue. Unfortunately, the experience fell far short of that expectation. After a few hours, I was told the "diagnostic" had been done using a diagnostic machine only, with no meaningful additional investigation. There was no visual inspection, no deeper fault-finding, and no attempt to properly validate the issue. They simply repeated the same fault code information I was already aware of. Based on this very superficial check, they quickly recommended a major and expensive repair -- without demonstrating any thorough analysis to justify it. When I asked reasonable questions to understand their process and reasoning, I was met with a rude and dismissive attitude rather than a professional explanation. What's most disappointing is not just the lack of diagnosis, but the lack of honesty and professionalism. If the garage does not have the expertise, time, or willingness to properly diagnose a vehicle, it would be far more professional to say so upfront rather than provide a costly recommendation based on a basic scan. I trusted them to treat both the job and me as a customer with professionalism and respect. Instead, I received neither. I would not return to this garage and would not trust their diagnostic conclusions.

I would not even give this Garage one star!…read more My vehicle was burning oil through the exhaust, I contacted Didcot Auto centre who recommended fitting a refurbished engine into the car as this would be the cheapest option. I was also informed that I would recieve a one year warranty on the engine on the condition that a new clutch was also fitted. This cost me £5000, after picking the vehicle up after having this work done and only driving 15 miles, the car had to be returned back to didcot auto centre due to low oil pressure warning. I was informed by Didcot auto centre that they would need to source another engine and they would not do this until they had received their money back from the supplier. This was ongoing for 3 months. In total I was without my car for a total of 5 months. Only 4 months later the new clutch needed to be replaced again and Didcot auto centre refused to take responsibility and wanted to charge me another £1500 for a new clutch. I went to another garage who replaced the clutch for £1200, I was then informed by the other garage that the clutch bolts were over tightened and had to be cut off which cost me another £200. The starter monitor on the ' new refurbished engine' has now gone. I contacted Didcot auto centre to get this work done on warranty, who are now claiming that it is only a 30 day warranty and not the year they had told me, therefore I am out of pocket for nearly £7000. I would not recommend this garage to anyone, unless you want to be ripped off. Their customer service is disgusting and they have caused me unnesscary stress and I am considering legal action.
