Clayhall park is my local recreation ground and having a 6yr old daughter we use it quite often…read more I do sympathise with what speakingup is saying but now being a few years on i have found Clayhall park a hive of bustling activity of young and old. Yes teenagers use it pouring in from local schools but i have always found them harmless and do their endevour best to not get in the way of younger children, also its better than them roaming the streets. They use the park as a social meeting ground even in school holidays. Nowadays you will always find the park visited regularly by park police and theres no trouble. I have often had chats with the park keepers and are polite,i believe they do an excellent job of maintaining the park and flower gardens. You will find from the 2 children play areas (under 5 and over 5yrs)always busy and a new climbing area has been built. You will also find many using the park as exercise walk path, doing lap after lap from the ages of teens to their 70's. I truely dont believe you could find such a small park that as built up a community of all ages and so often used. Benjisfones

Theres a kids area, swings etc. So all in all everything for everyone. though still i don't feel overly safe in the park, it can be intimidating with all the kids and teenagers in a big group. Though ive been told the police control is tight and moves on large gangs. It is a park, but the safest way to go would be to walk your vicious dog to stay safe! Though what i suggest is not to follow the stereotype of assuming all the young are intimading criminals! so let your hair down and give it a chance

I'm talking about Ilford Park it's in an interesting location so a lot of people don't know where it is the great thing about this park is that the people who do use it and know where it is are quite friendly and co-operative the park has a tennis court with a nice handy basketball court next door. Very rarely your see two to four people playing basketball as I said the people are quite friendly so if you come along your are most likely to be designated the other side of the basketball court or it's possible to come to some sort of negotiation. This is a fitness park as the biggest section of the park is dedicated to fitness there are pillars that work there way round the park giving different fitness instructions which is great for the summer if you don't want to be sweating to death in a Gym. The park has a kiddies section with swings jungle gym picnic table and chairs for parents to watch their kids and a water fountain.

While there is a small garden section with benches - there's really not enough of a flower display to please the eye. There is however, a well equipped kids playground, and a more than ample field wihich is used for football games (all year round) and cricket in the summer. This park is also a dog walkers paradise. Thanks to the rough area that runs parallel to the A406 (known as The Warren I think), you're not likely to be bothered by dogs running off lead. Finally - it's worth noting that the trees that hide the A406 from view are actually chery trees. They have the sweetest fruits in summer (if you can convince somebody to pick them for you)

Not sure if it's supposed to be an anti-drink driving thing, or just a way of showing that this is a venue for DANGEROUS PEOPLE. I went to see a friend's band play in the back room, which is a decent size for a pub's music area. It's also all black. As is the makeup and hair of most of the clientele. Yep, we're talking goth / metal types, just like you used to see in the common room at school. Bless 'em. The beer is cheap and sold in plastic glasses once the music starts. They don't accept cards. The main bar is absurdly brightly lit, which might be why the goths hide away in the back room. If you're into glamour, cocktails, gastro-style food, attractive punters, seductive ambience and a short trip from central London, maybe give this place a miss. If you like ROCK and METAL and BLACK and SMALL CRAMPED TOILETS and A SLIGHTLY THREATENING STROLL TO / FROM EAST HAM TUBE STATION, head there immediately. Oh, and on the way, keep an eye out for a pound shop with an intriguing sign out front. It offers goods at 50p £1 £1.50 ++ ??, apparently.

Absolutely too far form the Tube and London. 45min+ ride, as well as 20 min walk from East Ham station. Bus service is nil. Neighborhood not secure or welcoming to tourists, the terrible food stench in the entire property from their catering facility was unbearable and nauseating, WIFI constantly offline, in addition to their management disregard to families and patrons needs and concerns, they are not transparent or accountable. Stay in central London, do not waste your money and time with this property. THE WORST. DO NOT stay here Australia, thumbs down 110%. Buyer beware.
