When you run out of wine, pop over to the Krystals convenience shop on Tower Bridge Road (just walk up the steps on the east side of Tower Bridge and head south) - they have loads on offer, all pre-chilled and reasonably priced. There are also pay-for toilets nearby if you need them or you can be a degenerate and use the one at the Starbucks in Shad Thames without buying anything - but you might have to wait in the queue of shame.

Dash home? Find a quiet spot to take a call. And then this: Leathermarket Gardens. Right in front of me. The standouts: THE ROSES. Wow. Quite beautiful. I basked in the sunshine a bit, enjoying the beauty that is London green space. There seems to be quite a bit of green space in this particular area, kind of sprawling about from street to street, but if you find yourself in the area...the roses are a treat to behold.

In one of my walks around Shoreditch/Brick Lane area I stumbled upon this park with a playground for grown ups. I mean, SERIOUSLY? Me and my friend couldn't resist ,and we spent about 2h playing in all the games that were there. A lot of people come to have pic-nics, walk their dogs and play (like me!). The view is quite nice, and you can also watch the London Overground running above you. If you walk all the way till the end, you will face the Hackney City Farm's fence, and you can even see some animals hanging out. Something there is also very curious (but I don't have any information about) is the big house in the middle of the lawn - I'm not sure if someone still lives there, but from far away it looks a little haunted. This garden was for residents use only, but not so long ago, considering the development and growth of the area, it became public. I should have won you with "playground for grown ups", but if I still haven't convinced you this is a nice place, go check! :)

Russia Dock woodland is one of my favourite nature-y places in London. I cannot describe how happy…read moreI was, the first time I got lost jogging and stumbled upon this gorgeous maze of pretty paths and perfect puppy (or rabbit) walking areas! There are sections of wilderness and mini nature reserves to encourage wildlife...along with larger green areas (perfect for picnics) and even a hill that looks over Canary Wharf, the city and gives fantastic views all the way over to the London eye! There are entrances to the woodland from all sides; near Greenland docks, from several spots along the Thames pathway, near Canada Water station and from all the surrounding suburban-ish housing that surrounds it. Kids and dogs that live in this area are really lucky to have such a fun place to play! Highlights: * Stave Hill - the artificial hill in the middle of the woodlands with fantastic views over London. It's a good place to watch the sun rise or set. We watched the Tornado and Eurofighter from up here during the Royal wedding in 2011. * Rabbit walking(!) - A couple of times when I have met friends here for a picnic, we have seen someone walking their pet rabbit in the park. It is sooo cute! * Paths to wander around and get lost in - There are loads of teeny paths through the woodlands which make this a fantastic place to explore. I don't think I have ever been through the same way twice!

This is the best kept secret in London. So much so, that even many local residents don't know about…read morethis park, hidden away in the leafy Rotherhithe peninsula. So what's so special about Russia Dock Woodland? The history, where this whole area served as the London docks, accepting imports from across Europe, and the world. During the war, this area was pretty badly hit and was eventually redeveloped as a mid-density residential area. But Rotherhithe, a very underrated part of London, is slap-bang in between the glistening skyscrapers or Canary Wharf and the hustle-bustle of London Bridge. For whatever reason, Rotherhithe managed to carve itself as a quiet, scenic and pretty part of the city, where rental prices haven't quite veered into the ridiculous. The centre of this peninsula is filled up with Russia Dock Woodland, or as it's also known, Stave Hill Ecological Park. It's very easy to get lost in here, but it won't be long before you work out your bearings - there are docks all around the park, and the centre of the woodland boasts it's 'piece de resistance'. Stave Hill. After all the rubble had been gathered together, it was all dumped into an artificial hill, which became Stave Hill. And this unique location means you're right between Canary Wharf, and the City of London. Climb the steps up this hill, to be afford one of the best views anywhere in the city. And there's even a great iron-wrought model of the local area. And the best part? This isn't a tourist honeytrap. It's not even overrun with locals. Most the time when you come up here, it'll be completely empty, and you'll be King of the Hill!

To be able to get up to the slide, you have to crawl through small holes which are very dangerous if you step backwards and forget that it's there.. I'm surprised it's been allowed. Also considering it's near Great Ormond Street Hospital, you would think it was more of an SEN friendly park. Such a shame.

So to make it clear, people like Anne Boleyn (being the queen and Royal) was executed in private and in the premises within the Tower of London. But the site for public executions, like the Bishop of Canterbury was this site, now refurbished into a park space. This may sounds ghoulish, but I really wanted to check out the site, and to be honest, it's such an understated memorial, I struggled to find it. It's not the big monument, which is actually the naval/ sailor's memorial (anyone else find this juxtaposition weird?) but instead this small square. I visited in the twilight time, so my pics aren't that clear, but still it was interesting being there. Can't believe that such a pleasant oasis in the city area has such a ghoulish past.

Finding myself…read morecycling home along Old Kent Road in the baking sunshine and in need of a spot of greenery, I veered off in to the tatty Pecklham end of it and was wide eyed with surprise to discover, yes, just how big and gorgeous it is! The pond is one of the most beautiful spots, set in front of a posh old building with the sun glinting off it and fishing tents lined up at the water's edge. You can go right up to the water which must be a little scary if you have kids, but I like that it's not fenced off. Further towards Camberwell are vast expanses of grass for playing, hanging and sunbathing plus lots of nice shady bits under trees. I'm going to bring a book and a flask of squash here one day soon and soak in the ambience of this unexpected haven between Peckham and Camberwell.

But the children's play area isn't the best and there is no off leash area for the dogs...
