Let me ask you something - do you really enjoy going to a highway store so you can wait on line and pay to have something gift wrapped? Here it's part of the service they provide. Need a gift basket? They'll make one up for you that's fabulous while you wait. I've been buying gifts, pots, pans, knives, gourmet food stuffs and more at Cooktique since I first moved to Tenafly in 1977 and have never once regretted any purchase. The advice I've gotten has made me a better cook - no kidding at all - and the items they've suggested I buy have made it so much easier for me in the kitchen. Friends of mine who are truly great cooks only shop here. Cooktique is unique and it's fun - come on over, browse their fascinating front windows and then treat yourself by going inside. It's an experience you won't forget. The next time you need a really special gift, want to get a sauce pan that cooks without burning or need olive oil that is amazingly light, you'll know what to do - you'll go to Cooktique.

The staff is super friendly and the whole store is so warm and inviting. I stopped in to return some wedding gifts someone had purchased from there that we had registered for else where and the shopkeeper was just lovely. She didn't give us a hard time at all about the returns and helped us pick out some really nice things instead! I even found my olive oil spray bottles there. Plus the french press we purchased came with sample of their coffee. Great space that I will definitely come back to for future gifts.

My family feels so lucky that we discovered Chef Toni's Cooking Adventures back in 2015 when our…read moreson was nine and he has continued with the program each summer since. It was one of those times you feel so grateful to live in NYC - to find a camp to suit your child's interests so perfectly! He loved cooking and geography. Each day at Chef Toni's summer camp, they twirled the globe to determine the country that would serve as the theme for the next day's cuisine, they'd go to the farmer's market to buy ingredients and spend the day engaged in games like a "quiz bowl" to learn about the country of the day. They also staged cooking challenges in the manner of "Top Chef" with teams competing on factors from creativity to presentation. My son brought home the most wonderful dishes and recipes and it really opened him up to a broader array of foods. What struck me immediately about Chef Toni's Cooking Adventures that has held throughout the years is 1) the tremendous enthusiasm and energy--they connect with and engage every child in such a positive way and 2) the high quality--everything from the ingredients to the professionally trained chefs serving as counselors. My son is not easily charmed, but Chef Toni hooked him in and he felt at home from the first day. No matter the kid (shy or extroverted, adventurous or limited in their culinary tastes) they all seem to love Chef Toni. I've seen that to be the case whether the setting was a cooking-themed birthday party, after school programming or summer activities. I highly recommend Chef Toni, her staff and the Cooking Adventures program to any family with a child who has an interest in food and/or cooking OR one who is resistant to it!

Jeremy has been to other cooking programs, but to compare them would be to compare a fine art class to a paint-by-numbers kit. Jeremy, age 15, is now taking Chef Toni's weekend "master class" and interning as a counselor in training for the camp.

Dropped by for a sip and sew class on a Sunday evening. This place was relatively easy to find…read more Located on the 9th floor. The class was 2 hours long and overall a very fun learning experience to make a tote bag. Not easy imo, but you are taught in a way with demonstrations first prior to attempting to do it on your own, a few steps at a time. I thought the hardest parts were the beginning prior to actually sewing - putting the thread in the machine and setting it up. But I'm sure with experience it becomes second nature. You're given the basics of the machine from the buttons to the different parts and the pedal. Then comes the fun part of actually putting together the tote bag. From sewing the sides to sewing the handles, the instructors were very knowledgeable and helpful! Very delighted to have taken this class, and looking forward to taking more in the future. As someone forever petite (unfortunately), I spend so much time getting clothing altered. Would love to learn more about altering my own clothes.

I took the Sewing bootcamp 101 class with Emily as the lead instructor. It ran from 10AM-6PM with a…read more1 hour lunch break at 12:30, I spent $310. We received a run down on how the machine works, learned how to thread the machine and how to fill the bobbins. Then we made a denim tote bag. This was super easy and really fast. After lunch break is the 2nd project. If you don't have your fabric, the school can sell you fabric directly inside for $16 a yard. I bought my fabric elsewhere and brought it in. I honestly recommend doing this instead of buying it from them. Because you have to wash your fabric like how you wash your laundry regularly since it shrinks naturally. We picked our patterns and I made a skirt since a skirt is faster than pants. They recommended not to make pockets or else I'll run out of time. But I HAD to add pockets. Women's clothing have little or no pockets regularly. The instructors are extremely helpful and friendly. and they immediately notice if someone is struggling or stuck. This really impressed me. For example, when I was threading the bobbin, the spool of thread was running out. The teacher was immediately behind me with a brand new spool of the same color so I can swap it out when it was finished. That was a great eye for detail! Overall, highly recommend. Just bring in your own 3 yards of cotton fabric, already washed and dried, for the 2nd project!
