I've been remiss in not giving a "shout out" to Kathy's Dress Shop. About 5 years ago, I was in Julian with girlfriends instead of my husband and we went inside. First of all, Kathy is such a sweet lady and so is the other gal with the small dog. They are both very nice and helpful! They have dresses, pants, tops, jackets, cute clocks up high, and some cute gift items. Through this shop, I was turned onto Jess & Jane brand tops, which I love (along with some other nice brands). Jess & Jane are often 100% cotton (yeah!) and are made in the USA (big applause). Every time we visit Julian (once or twice a year), I come in here and almost always find something. They also typically have a sale rack out on the front porch. They have a nice little dressing room so that you can try things on before buying. Check this place out on your visit!

By the time we got to Julian, I was a distraught mess since we only had less than an hour to find me a new ensemble. Kathy was so incredibly helpful. She found a very nice dress for me to wear and was even willing to hem it if necessary. Thankfully, it didn't come to that. She also helped me find a great necklace to go with my new outfit. I had already paid by the time I realized I didn't have earrings to match. Kathy gave me a pair of earrings to take with me. I just can't say enough good things about her. The outfit turned out to be better than the one I forgot at home. She really came through in a pinch, and I'll be forever grateful.

The fresh bright orange pumpkins drew me in. The outdoor items with fallen dried maple leaves added to the nostalgia of items of bygone years. Amazingly I had a fun time looking at jewelry pieces. I'm glad we had time since we placed a big order of Bbq from across the street.

There is no pressure at all. Yesterday, she showed me a necklace I liked and I told her that I needed to ponder on it. I also left a couple of pieces to be repaired. When I went back to pick up my repaired items, I bought the piece. We've also had Patricia custom make items for us. Our Mom lost one of her her favorite cross earrings. We showed Patricia and she suggested we have two new ones made and and turn the original cross into a necklace. It was a great suggestion and the price was so reasonable. She shipped us everything within a couple of weeks. Mom was so pleased. Patricia has one many ribbons for her jewelry from the Del Mar Fair and we enjoy seeing them when we visit.
