I'd give this place 3.5 stars, but I'm rounding up to 4 since it's really the best option in the area. The store has a ton of variety, from gifts for friends, kitchen gadgets, and bathroom items to toys and pet supplies. It's perfect for those hard-to-shop-for people in your life. The items here are definitely unique, so you're likely to find something special!! Prices are a bit on the higher side, but that's to be expected since it's in a touristy area. Some of the items you can find elsewhere, but you probably won't see a lot of them where you live unless you're ordering online. I spent a good 40 minutes just browsing and imagining how I'd use everything in my place. It was fun using my imagination! It's definitely worth checking out when you're in Julian, especially if you're looking for something one-of-a-kind!

Funnest shopping place in Julian. The warm hearth has everything you would ever need for that hard-to-find-gifts-for person. - Good music playing. - Home decor. - lots of gourmet sauces and hot sauces. - Make sure you visit downstairs. - A lot of cool gifts for kids. Replica guns and axes for the boys and a bunch of fairy garden stuff for the girls.

A natural born shopper? Like to spend $$? Then you must come here. More to look at than you can imagine. $200 was spent in an instant and that's not including 3 areas I didn't browse through. I'm hoping to make a return visit today on our way back from Idyllwild to La Jolla. You'd be surprised how far back and below the shop extends. Itinerary for today? Revisit and have another slice of Julian's famous apple pie. That would definitely make me a happy person.

The store is huge with tons of gift items like candles, lotions, ear rings, cookbooks, which my wifey needs, and a lot more. The prices are fair seeing how this is for tourists. They also have a section down stairs in the back with more items to buy. When I'm in Julian, I always stop by here. Oh, in the winter, they have these old fireplaces, which help keep the store warm.

Anything and everything. Huge and tons of merchandise. Way too much, gets exhausting, especially when you are a group of 5 ladies who love to browse and shop and are undecided of what they want. I went this past Saturday after a decade not visiting Julian. I did not remember the store having 2 levels and being that big. We found enough souvenirs for my friends to bring back to Chile and Colombia (they were visiting from there), so mission accomplished. However the traffic of people up and down made the shopping experience a bit stressful. Go with plenty of time as there is lots to see.

One of my favorite stores in Julian. I try to come out here during the Christmas season. So many pretty things rustic to choose from. Christmas adds an additional flavor to the town of Julian. Everyone is so friendly here. The locals suggest to come out here during the week. The weekends are crazy crowded. Therefore streets and stores were definitely not crowded at all on a Tuesday.

Tons of unique gift items. Here you could spend probably at least an hour in the store combing through all sorts of things here. Never disappointed always a story. Make sure to stop into when we're visiting the town.

The Warm Hearth is an incredible store. Every time when I go to Julian for my annual visit in December, I find some amazing things. I love finding Christmas decor. I have purchased so much stuff over the years, I feel like a third of my Christmas decorations are from here. They have resin and wooden figurines, pillows, wall decor, ornaments, etc. They offer really unique and unusual items great for gifts like funny socks with sayings on them. I got my cousin who is a baker by profession a funny oven mitt with the saying "dropping a new recipe on your a$$." Also, they have a wonderful selection of hand made quality jewelry. The size of the place is deceiving from the outside. It is huge! The are numerous rooms and a large back area. If you are a baker or a cook, there is one room dedicated to the kitchen. They carry lots of specialty cookie cutters, tools, cookbooks, fancy measuring cups, bowls, containers, etc. There is another room with decor that changes depending on the season / upcoming holiday. Make sure that you go to the back. They have an incredible back area with more awesome finds. They carry lots of items to decorate the outside of your home - fountains, metal decorations, wooden decorative stakes, clocks. There are no associates walking around asking if you need help but you can always go to the front registers and ask for assistance. If there is a line, which there usually is, just wait a couple of minutes and someone will step out to help you. I usually spend about 45 minutes in the store to look and every nook and cranny. Incredible spot! Definitely check it out if you are in Julian.

We found these thick felt elf slippers for my 6 year old and they will be perfect for the holidays!!

I showed John a picture of one he did before, told him I liked redwood, and he was off to the races. In just a few short days, my dilapidated 1970s fireplace was a brand new marble wonder with a custom redwood mantle and much safer for my kids. When I had a problem with a window in my kitchen, John was on the scene and took care of it before I could even get to my house to worry about it. That next week, I had a huge, upgraded window in my office overlooking the hills. John cares deeply about his clients, takes care of your home as if it were his own, and charges a fair and reasonable price for his work. He communicates with you regularly so you feel informed, empowered, and cared about. He answers questions quickly and honestly, giving you the benefit of his many years as a general contractor. Doing business with him is like working with a friend or neighbor. I highly recommend John and HomeSmith and can't wait to work with him on other projects at my home.

What stood out about Shugarman's Bath are the several good reviews across platforms that repeatedly mention quality work, good communication, and of course, customer satisfaction. Communication: everything was clear and well presented right from the initial phone call, up until the turn over . My design consultant went over every detail, every option, and every possible scenario. He made sure all needs were met and there was not pressure or attempts to upsell. After signing on, demo and install were scheduled and the projects managers made sure to communicate details along the way. On demo day, every single step was communicated even with appropriate warnings/advisories about noise and vibration. On installation day, they made sure I was involved in placement of accessories particularly height, distances, etc. Reliability: I feel like Shugarman's Bath is a very well-oiled machine. They do what they promise and sometimes even over-deliver! Work Quality: everything was presented well from beginning to end. First thing they did was lay down protective cloth to prevent dirtying my floors. They complied with HOA requests for inspection before and after copper installation. They had everything they needed in their vehicle and not once did they slow down. Of course, the finished product is beautiful, efficient, and accessible. Customer Satisfaction: not once did I feel left out or disregarded/contradicted just to make their job easier. Everyone went through every detail to make sure that I got what I wanted and not some work around or semblance of what was asked of them. They definitely deliver what was promised! Pricing: they were not the lowest bidders. But the promise and guarantee they provided was top notch. Their pricing includes any remediation needed after the walls are taken down so that, in itself, guarantees a stress-free experience. If they discover something that needs correcting, they will do it themselves. They won't leave you high and dry looking for a third party to do remediation work. For me, this was the best part of the whole no-surprise pricing they provided. Material Quality: they use top notch materials and accessories from trusted brands! Not some cheap, flimsy or hollow enclosure. The build is solid and guaranteed to last! Overall, 100% recommend them! They are fast, efficient, and professional all the way! Shout out to: Nick - first point to contact Adam - Design Consultant Karina, Lindsey, Stephanie - Project Managers/Consultants Michael, Chreen, Steven - Installers Thanks to all of you for making sure I got what I wanted and needed and that I'd enjoy it for years to come!

The sales rep from Shugarman was very good, showing me samples of the actual materials, and I signed up. There was a significant wait, about 5-6 weeks, but the project started only a day later than promised. I did not get competitive bids, but instead relied on Yelp reviews and my own life experiences. So, I cannot comment about the cost. Suffice it to say, bathrooms are expensive. Daniel I. was the installer. The demolition was rather raucous and dusty, but aren't all demolitions? Daniel removed the tile and backing to reveal the studs. The existing plumbing was marginal, to be generous describing it, and he removed it and replaced it with nice copper pipes. Daniel has proved to be a very talented plumber, and his attention to detail was very comforting. After several inspection trips under the house, he pronounced the new system as leakproof. I was intrigued by the lasers he used to line up the new pipes. The wall coverings went up swiftly and the upgraded sandstone floor tray exceeded my expectations. It was the only upgrade I ordered, figuring I could replace the base shower head and wand later, if I so desired. Probably will. Daniel very expertly installed the vinyl walls, bending them at 90 degree angles to match the existing structures. The tile was about eye level high, but the new walls went up to the ceiling, a visual improvement and a very practical solution. I ordered plain almond colored walls because the bathroom floor tile is a fussy design, and I did not want to make the overall look even fussier. It worked ! But sometimes the devil is in the details. The walls and shelves are almond and the floor pan is sandstone. I am mystified why Daniel caulked everything with white. The almond corners and shelves are now outlined with white caulking. Well, what's done is done. I would have specified almond-colored caulking, given the opportunity. The project was completed in the two days promised. Well, 99% completed. There remained a very obvious gap from the wall covering to the existing tile which needed more attention. This time I requested that Daniel use almond-color caulking to fill in the gap. The corner radii of the wall covering and the tile are different, requiring the extra attention. Daniel came back about a week later to work on this, but still it was not quite acceptable. Another week passed, and Ricky came by to provide some additional layering. Now, it's about as good as can be. I've been showing off the project to neighbors and family, and all have agreed it's beautiful. Several have mentioned the white caulking outlining everything, but in general, it's a hit.
