Today, Waltham Taxi saved me from myself. Silly me completely missed my alarm this morning and woke up in Waltham with LITERALLY 90 minutes until my flight from Logan was scheduled to depart. I hastily gathered my things and called a cab which arrived in 10 minutes, as promised. Told my cab driver, a very nice gentleman, that my flight was in about an hour and ten minutes from that time and he said "No problem, I'll get you there in 30." AND HE DID. He even had the foresight to swipe my credit card as we were approaching my terminal so that I wouldn't have to waste time after we'd stopped at the door. And in case anyone's wondering, I made my flight. I realize this may be a small business and not always as reliable as cab companies with greater resources, but man did my Waltham Taxi deliver. I will definitely use them again. read more

So bad. So, so bad. Can I give no stars?? Confirmed address twice with dispatcher when I scheduled my pickup to go to the airport today, stressing several times I was going *to the airport* and that I could not be late. Asked them to call my cell phone when they arrived at my office building. Ten minutes after they were supposed to pick me up, when I'd been standing in the rain for five, I called them to find out where my taxi was. Turns out, it was sitting in front of a house somewhere (I'd mentioned my office building several times), and hadn't called. When I corrected the address - again - with the dispatcher, he *yelled* at me "He's coming!" and hung up. Nope. I'm now sitting in the backseat, 18 minutes late, and the car is disgusting and reeks of pee and the driver won't roll the windows up (though with this smell, I don't want him to). I am horrified that I've called this taxi service numerous times for clients and consultants for my work, and given the number to friends who aren't local. What's more nope than nope? Because, that. Also, just noticed there's no credit card machine, and when I inquired he said "Cash. Or we have to call it in." Whatever that means. Nooooope. Never ever ever ever EVER again. read more

Late to the airport after being booked ahead; took the slowest cheapest route, rude, bad driver, taxi cab with dangerously worn suspension (I was a mechanic for 27 years), taking cell phone calls, texting, the whole time. When my wife asked that the window be closed because rain was in her face, he said "I need the fresh air". I've lived in Waltham for 20 years and will always advise everyone to avoid Waltham Taxi. read more

Simply put: incompetent. Do not rely on this company. Waltham taxi just no-showed for a 6:45am reservation I made yesterday, for a car from Lexington to Logan airport for my wife. Guy on phone took address, information, etc. When she called that morning @ 10 min late: "so sorry, driver leaving now" When I called @ 20 min late: "He's on the way, there in 10 min" When I called @ 35 min late: "Almost there, we're so sorry" Then dispatcher calls me @ 45 min late: "My driver can't find street, where is it??" When I call @ 1 hour late (having called AA and moved her flight back 2 hours, incurring $150 in fees): "He's a few blocks away, there in 2 minutes" Time of pickup: 1 HOUR, 23 MINUTES LATE. Dispatcher was apologetic, but I mean... they are a taxi service. The VERY MOST BASIC THING they are selling is picking you up and taking you elsewhere. If they can't be on time, and can't find addresses (with a GPS no less--then when he arrived it was clear, he DIDN"T KNOW HOW TO USE THE GPS, he actually asked my wife to program in the airport!!!) they should close up business today. Incredible She could have driven herself to the airport, and back, in the time it took these guys to get a car from Waltham to Lexington. Never, ever, ever again. read more

I booked a taxi to take me to the airport this morning. Last night I called to ask if the taxis took credit cards, and was told that they all do. So the taxi came and took me to the airport, but when I wanted to pay the driver told me that he didn't have the machine for credit cards. I also only had a $100 dollar bill, which the driver didn't have change for, and he had to run around looking for someone who could exchange cash. The driver was polite and courteous, and did get money, but I was very lucky that I had cash at all and that i wasn't late for a flight. If I hadn't had cash, because I was told that they took credit cards, it would have been a big problem. Also if I was late for my flight, I would have had to walk away and give the driver $100. Even though the driver was nice, I was disappointed with this taxi company in giving me false information. read more

Waltham Taxi was a no-show for a 5:15 a.m. pickup from Waltham to Logan. Called twice yesterday to confirm and upon calling this morning the phone just rang and went to voicemail (just a standard VM greeting and not even one tailored to the business, so extra sketchy). I ended up just driving myself into Boston. Never again. read more

I would like to preface this by the fact that I always try and have cash for a cab, but unfortunately did not this evening. I have a lot of respect for drivers and what they do but recently took an 8 dollar cab ride with Waltham Taxi in which they did not inform me that they did not take cards. I then had to have them drive to get me cash (added $10 to my tab). They were completely unapologetic, and in fact, abrasive. I live in this area and would now do anything to avoid this company. read more

Completley incompetent! My mother ordered a pickup for a medical procedure. She called in 3 hours in advance to set up a pickup time for 20 minutes prior to the scheduled appointment to make sure they would be on time. They no-showed and blamed her for not answering the phone, but they hadn't even come to our address in the first place. We ended up just taking a lyft instead. We will never use this taxi service in the future. read more

I'm not sure if I can really add more to what's already been said. I've used these guys twice (I try to give people a second chance) and both times were truly awful. Incredibly rude, late, lost, etc. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. read more

Masking a reservation was easy. But on the day of travel, the driver was late. When I tried to call the office, all I got was a voicemail. When the tax arrived, it was unmarked, and there was no evidence of a hackney license. The vehicle was shabby. Back of the driver's seat was ripped up, and the center console was torn out. They interior was very worn in general. The driver was nice enough, however., and got me to the airport --- the only reason I'm giving this company two stars. read more

Scam: Driver attempted to use a flat rate of $15 for taking me from my hotel in Waltham to Sylvan Rd (less than 1 mile) instead of meter. Dispatch advised ride would be approx. $5. read more

If I could give them ZERO stars, I would. I had the worst experience. I called them on a Friday morning and asked them if I could get a driver to arrive at the train station at 11:00 p.m. when my train was supposed to arrive. The person who answered not only told me they would be there, but told me to go ahead and wait at the outbound platform. He also took my name and the address of where I needed to go. When I got there, no one was anywhere around. It was dark and empty. I called the cab company and they told me that it didn't matter that I had made a reservation, that "that information gets lost". The guy was very terse with me and told me if I still wanted a ride, to tell him where I would be in five minutes to meet him. Not knowing the area, I said I'd be at the corner of the street by the outbound platform. His frustration with me clearly was growing (and mine with him). When he finally pulled up, he sat in his car for five minutes writing something while I waited outside in the cold with my bags. When he finally looked up and rolled the window down, I said "Are you going to take me or what?" when I got in and asked how they could have lost my reservation? He said "I don't have to take you if you aren't nice. Just get out" Shook his finger at me and yelled at me. I didn't want to ride with him at that point anyway, so I happily obliged. I've used Waltham Taxi before and they were fine. But had an awful experience with them yesturday. They were supposed to pick someone up in Boston at the train station. The left a voicemail at the time they were supposed to be there, to "find another cab". So I called them back. The guy told me his driver "didn't feel like it" so he didn't go. Awful customer service!! So needless to say, we needed to find someone else ASAP! I won't be using them again. read more

Warning! We drove ourselves after Waltham Cab did not show up for a 3pm pick up to Logan Airport on April 19th which I had ordered two days prior. On our return I called them, They did not even apologize when they discovered, with me on the phone line, that their driver had lied to them and never disclosed the incident to their dispatcher. This is a completely unreliable company. Avoid it.. read more
