We needed drywall throughout the entire interior of our home due to damages from Hurricane Michael…read more We got multiple quotes from contractors. Panhandle Drywall sold us on the initial visit. William Massey was professional and convinced us his "expert" crew could do the job. He said drywall would take nine days (he denies he said this). We also needed painting once the drywall was done. He said he had excellent painters and they could do that too. We discussed in detail what we wanted. All interior would be white on the ceilings with ceiling paint, and satin on all walls. William stated, "I would never use eggshell paint on walls". We further discussed adding baseboards, trim, and window framing. All together their quotes were not the lowest, but we felt good about the integrity of their commitment and understanding of what we had gone through. The first day of work started before Christmas in 2023. There was a pause during the holidays and work started again in January. During drywall installation, we noticed one guy who knew what he was doing, and another guy who was randomly poking holes in the drywall looking for studs. We asked why he was doing that and was told he was just someone helping out but wasn't a drywall guy. After the drywall started to get hung, the mudding and taping started. Needless to say no inch of any part of the walls, floors, outlets , door hinges, etc. escaped being slapped with mud. Then sanding. The entire interior was covered in drywall dust. Next came paint. Spray paint. From ceilings to floors. Ceiling paint everywhere, on everything. Nothing was covered. In the process after this, we paid $2,000.00 to have this mess professionally cleaned. Much work was still needed, mind you it's now April 2024. Many no-shows, broken promises to fix all the mistakes, arguments on the phone and numerous text messages. Delays because "we have other customers you know". We got numerous excuses and apologies about all the delays. We now are having to get quotes for thousands $$$$ to repaint the entire interior again, but first the drywall holes, caulk, and orange peel ripples need repair which means more sanding. We are still being told Panhandle Drywall will come fix everything, but at this point we paid to have everything done right the first time. This project took a toll on our marriage and my husband's health. We had to end our relationship with this company. I gave one star because the trim, baseboards, and window frames were done beautifully. Our only complaint was multiple promises of coming to work but not showing up when scheduled. I'm sure there will be a rebuttal response but that has been the norm throughout the process.
