My children and I had left Walmart and a man was standing right by my car smoking pot (I knew right away from the disgusting smell, and when I asked the man if he was smoking pot, he said yes. It was so infuriating because we all smelled like pot instantly, including in my car for a while). It appears there are still some "gray" areas in MA, which is so frustrating for those of us who have never had an interest in drugs, and try to teach our children NOT to do drugs... now I (and my children) smell it all the time in public areas! Thankfully, this police officer (a woman... I didn't get her name) was willing to help and she even said she'd have an officer go over to Walmart's parking lot since IT IS ILLEGAL to drive while intoxicated with pot... sadly (unlike alcohol) there's no test for it yet. I once went to the records department to see the reports on a very weird traffic accident I'd witnessed, but never did get to see them because nobody in the records office spoke English. And the Framingham Police are the absolute worst at directing traffic that I've ever seen anywhere in the US or Europe. I don't know why they find it such a challenge, but they're awful. That's about it. I have no other real complaints. Some minor stuff like getting stuck permanently on "hold" when calling about non-emergency matters; nothing important.

An officer from this barracks upon arrival saw me trying to get my car back up onto the off ramp (unsuccessfully to say the least) on my own hoping to avoid the tow truck fees. He considerately stood behind my car and physically helped push my car out of the ditch. Once we got my car into a better position, he then helped navigate me up and out the rest of the way by explaining how to rock my car in a back and forth motion. After a few minutes of driving the way he explained me to do in the forward/reverse motion to build momentum and after listening to his instructions he gave me I got my car back up on to the off ramp as soon as the tow truck was coming around the highway exit bend. I don't even know if he realizes that he was the hero of our Christmas this year because every dollar I had was for Christmas shopping and had he not gotten out of his car in 17° weather and helped push my car out of the ditch I would have had to give the tow truck all of my Christmas shopping money for doing something that we were able to do ourselves. The cops were nowhere near as buff as their sloshed challengers (that means drunk), but the element of alcohol probably tipped things in the cops' favour, as did strength in numbers. Anyway, it was comical and brutal and scary all at the same time. The same men had been racially abusive inside the Chinese restaurant where I was eating at 3am (Double Chin), and hadn't paid their bill. They'd wanted to lay a beatdown on the employees, but the cops had been nearby thankfully. Four stars for responding so well, minus one for so many crappy, illegal parking tickets given out.

Aside from the parking situation, the office opens promptly at 8:30am and I quickly spoke with the clerk and was out by 8:38am. The security staff and clerk were both respectful, kind, and helpful. Customer service was five stars, the difficulty in finding a parking spot/finding a garage is the reason for the lower rating!

Cars, Trucks, DOT trucks, School Buses do not come to complete stop at intersections in School Zones and neighborhoods. Pedestrians and Elementary Students are at risk. My husband got into an accident on Black Friday as the man in the other vehicle cut him off (my husband was going left in the left lane only), the other vehicle was going straight (you either go straight or turn right). Simple rules of the road one would think. The other vehicle stated that a car stopped short in the lane to go straight or right so he had no choice to swerve into the left. He also chose to leave the scene where the adrenaline in my husband was so high that he thought is this man really trying to drive away? So he attempted to get to the other man's vehicle and when that gentleman (that's a nice word ;) to use for someone who takes off from an accident), noticed his license plate was being snapped he only stopped then to give his registration and license info with insurance info. He didn't ask for my husband's- bc he had no injuries and had no plans on stopping as nothing was wrong with his bigger vehicle. It took roughly a half hour for the Plainville police to show up. They literally told my husband after fluid was all over the road bc he was leaking it for a half hour waiting, if he could move his vehicle. My husband's vehicle is 70% totaled. It was pretty close to being totaled. But bc it fell below the 90-100% - the insurance company didn't total it. However the police were only concerned about him blocking traffic so they wanted him to move the vehicle. The police officer Flannigan who took the report, stated no injuries (so he's pretty much got X-ray vision) and can see internal injuries which my husband had. But, I guess this police department and their officer need to see a lot of blood and maybe some ribs or skin falling off of you - before they think you're injured. I didn't know the police had medical degrees now, but Plainville seemingly thinks they know everything. They also put in their report that the other driver did drive off - wasn't at the scene when they arrived, but they used codes that were contradictory. They stated the other driver was not under the influence nor was he distracted by cell phones etc. Now, I'm not a rocket scientist, but if you put in your police report that the driver wasn't there of the other vehicle- how do you know what was going on with him? I guess they just guess. They also didn't listen to my husband (Officer Flannigan) and he had drawn a diagram of both cars in the same lane, when I guess clearly he doesn't follow directions on the crash report of where the other vehicle was BEFORE it ended up swerving into into the other lane. So just know you'll be waiting for someone if you do get injured and then they'll ask you to move your own vehicle after it's not drivable which the officer noted -but I guess when they want it moved they'll make you move it no matter what. Not sure why they don't go into the vehicle if they want it moved. SO concerned about intersection traffic on Black Friday - but not the person injured in an accident. I find that sad, but I guess these days I shouldn't expect anything less.

People running through the streets screaming, someone on a megaphone yelling for hours, music blaring, a huge light show that it shining into all of our windows. So far they have sent two cars that have driven by and done nothing. I called back and asked why the officers did nothing and the dispatcher became violent, saying "music isn't important. Stop calling us". This is a neighborhood filled with retired first responders. The current ones clearly have no respect for the ones who paved the way for them. My question is, why am I forced to pay these IDIOTS salaries via my taxes when they don't even do their JOB, which is to respond and cater to the public. Hence, "public servant".
