The fact that I'm horrible at taking my contacts out and blind as a bat (bats can probably see better than me), makes me a wonderful candidate for eye issues and updated prescriptions. The techs are always super sweet, and don't leave me hanging around blind for too long. I've been seeing Dr. Lappen on my last couple of visits, and he answers all my ridiculous questions. I know that I'm not "legally blind", I shoooould probably take out my contacts once in a blue moon, at least, and my eyes are not perfectly shaped like cue balls (and that's okay). I haven't bought glasses from this location in a long time. I bought an expensive pair quite a while ago, and after my sweet sweet puppy ate the temples off of them, I needed to get them replaced. There was a bit of a snafu when the temples finally came in and they were the wrong color, but I was told because of issues they had had with this company they were no longer going to carry them. Either way I'll be more than happy to update my review when I get fresh on that four-eyed game!

I attempted to ask about offers for a contact lens exam if I paid out of pocket when a lady came behind the receptionist, proclaimed "We don't take Medicaid patients," and returned to her seat with a self-satisfied look on her face. I canceled my appointment and left. Today I spent $350 in cash, out of pocket, at Stanton Optical in Metairie. I'm actually grateful to the rude lady for being short-sighted and ignorant, as the staff at Stanton Optical showed me that there are still some companies out there that know how to treat customers with dignity and still add revenue to their bottom line. And a note to whatever manager is assigned to respond to these posts, don't bother. I do not have the arrogance to make assumptions like your employee did, but someone there did make the choice to employ this person to represent and speak for your company on the front lines.
