They posted an ad on Kijiji for a "NEW" PlayStation DualShock 4 controller for $39.99 plus taxes. I…read moredrove all the way from Toronto to Markham to purchase it. They kept the controllers behind a glass case. They had about 7 controllers and to my surprise, the controllers were kept in clear plastic bags! No original Sony packaging! I asked "I thought these were brand new?" The guy there says "these are what we call open-box items. The controllers were just removed from the PS4 system. But they have never been used." That was a total lie because I inspected all the controllers (2 silver, 1 blue, 4 black) and they all had scratches on them. Several of them even had the serial number sticker on the back removed or scratched off. I questioned him about that, and he said "well we've sold many of these and never had a problem". There was a second hand store across from them that I went to and they advised me that this Canadian Outlet Store was notorious for selling refurbished items. Don't trust this place! See my photos of their listing.

Saw big screen tvs, mini refrigerators, kitchenware and appliances, furniture and clothing. Many things don't have a price tag, so inconvenient and annoying. Their sales people have to call the manager for a price check: waited a long time and finally left because it took way too long for him to respond.

Malvern Town Centre - Pizza Hut and Circle K, where I got these drinks, are in a plaza-like area that's a part of the mall.

My rating is 3.5 stars. I'll round up. I grew up with folks getting confused with my high school and the Malvern area of Scarborough. I'd say that I went to Malvern Collegiate Institute. Folks would assume that it was in Scarborough. Um, no. My high school is in the Beaches in Toronto. Malvern Town Centre is indeed in Scarborough. It has changed quite a bit over the years. I grew up with this jingle in my head: Malvern, Malvern Town Centre. Malvern makes you smile. It's funny that it doesn't exist on the Internet as a YouTube video or something. Nope, it's not a figment of my imagination. It was a catchy jingle back then. When I worked in Scarborough, I'd come to this mall, which is known more as Malvern Mall to locals, to get my flu shot. The Shoppers Drug Mart (SDM) was in the mall back then. The flu shot clinic was in the mall, just outside SDM. This drugstore is no longer at the mall. Rather, it's in a plaza a block away that I like to frequent. Same with the No Frills. I loved when Zellers was at this mall. It shuttered in 2007. These days, there's Hart Store and Labels that are department store anchors. There's also a huge grocery store, Fresh Land. I have yet to go into it, but it looks impressive with hot food stands. The mall's food court is a bit sad. There are only two food stalls there and I've been to both of them. Hong Food and Panda have been there for years. They offer yummy fast food at cheap prices. There is a high school nearby, so everyone can take advantage of the combo deals. This mall used to have a McDonald's. Sadly, that eatery disappeared a couple of years ago. In its place is Hakka Pavilion, which has tasty offerings. It also has student and senior specials. I do like the food court area. The natural sunlight shines in. It's spacious, cheerful, and nice to sit down and eat. I recently visited Real Fruit Bubble Tea. It's a nice addition to the mall. I enjoyed a watermelon drink. I'm still reacquainting myself with the mall. I still haven't visited a ton of stores, but I'm getting there. This mall does have a high number of pay phones. I have seen four of them so far. Malvern Town Centre adopts a mall-plaza model. I frankly started returning to the plaza side of things first. Circle K has hot foods and is my favourite store for getting hot dogs. I also like the selection of hot and cold drinks here. The downside is that it is a standalone store, so you can't collect PC Optimum points here. I also like the Pizza Hut a couple of doors down. I've also frequented Scotchiees, which is a part of Rubini West Indian Grocery Store. The oxtail meal is yummy. It does take some time to get your meal assembled here because it's all island time at both businesses! I have The Wing Spot to frequent next. It's between Pizza Hut and Scotchiees. I like this mall, despite many stores being empty. However, the plaza side thrives, and I love all the eateries in the mall and plaza. I also like parking here. You can always find a decent parking spot here. (330)

Would definitely come back next time I'm in area.

Since then, this bubble tea franchise has shut down in the GTA. Chung Chun Rice Dog has taken over this spot. This change explains Skycity in a nutshell. There is a high concentration of bubble tea shops at Skycity. Competition is fierce. I was recently here, thinking that I should get some bubble tea. I actually couldn't decide because the selection was insane and proceeded with my errands instead... haha! I tend to visit Chatime the most here to get my bubble tea fix. Apart from an oversaturation of bubble tea stores, this place has a ton of food. I feel like it'll take me years to eat my way through this place. I recently visited Chung Chun and had an excellent experience. I love their Korean rice dogs and I'm thrilled that this location is a lot closer to me than heading over to North York to satisfy my cravings. My local Cheese Garden is here. I like that I can order online and drop by to pick up my goods. There are benches scattered around the plaza in case you are in a food coma after stuffing yourself to rest or take a nap. There is plenty of parking, although it does getting busy at night. Many eateries and bubble tea places open till 11:30 pm or midnight. There are other businesses, such as electronic stores, nail salons, and more. I have yet to make a dent in these categories here. The catch is that when you exit onto Midland, you can only turn right. Although it's convenient for me to turn left and head home, I don't mind cycling around the block to get home. It's safer considering how weird drivers can be around this area. One of these days, I will visit every bubble tea place here. The problem is that I have my usual places in Markham that it's tough to break decent habits. (342)

Recently restaurants are allowed to serve food on an outdoor patio but not all restaurants made a patio. There is no general WiFi for the mall.

Also the washrooms in this mall haven't been renovated & are usually dirty. One plus for this mall is the new Marry Me Mochi donut place near Moxie's. Also this Moxie's has a great cook. The food here has always been good when I eat at this location. I have been to other Moxie's and they are not good. A con for this mall is the transit is now outside the mall on one of the side roads. When the LRT used to be open there was a bus bay there the buses used to stop. So for transit users this mall isn't as convenient as it used to be. This mall is best for those who have a car.

They are adding more stores soon since the big box retailers Bay and Sear are long gone. There's an Ikea city store and Urban Behavior clearance store with all items $10 or less. This new information kiosk is kind of cool. Its setup like a smartphone with widgets. If you are looking to do some Xmas shopping this holiday season then definitely come here. The food offerings here are excellent as well. They got a huge food court with lots of delicous food offerings across the globe. You want more of a dine in experience? Visit Moxies, Jack Astors, Scaddabush, Milestones, Hibachi, etc. The washrooms here need more TLC. The cleaning staff need to clean more frequently to make it a more pleasant shopping experience.
