They had ALL THE HERBS- I live in a huge city and wish our Walmart was like this. If I ever see basil, mint, or chives at my store it's like I've hit the lottery. We got great steaks, plenty of food for the week, dairy products, and nice fresh produce. Went back the next day for water balloons and water guns... so we kind of saw a little bit of everywhere.

The registers, namely the self-checkout is set up a little odd compared to other stores, but I'm happy it exists at this store. All in all, it's pretty much on par with the rest of the walmarts in the area: smaller selections in some things, virtually no cashiers, you know what I'm saying.

The deli items were typical of any grocery store that doesn't specialize in hot foods. The beef brisket was dry on the exterior and tender on a small area of the interior. The battered okra was okay but the sausage in barbecue sauce was pretty tasty. I was impressed to find La Brea breads in the bakery. Our cashier in the express lane lacked enthusiasm but did his job.

I assumed she would simply leave to grab her wallet, but the cashier's assistant offered to pay for the meal. While I initially thought this was a kind gesture, it quickly turned offensive. The employee commented on how "skinny" my 18-year-old daughter is, using her body as a pretext for the "charity." We are more than capable of paying for our own food, and it was incredibly inappropriate and unprofessional for this employee to use a helping hand as an excuse to body-shame my daughter and make derogatory remarks under the guise of religious righteousness. As a family of color, we felt targeted and disrespected. I was appalled by this behavior and urge management to address this hypocrisy and lack of professionalism.

After having shopped at Pruett's (formerly Buy For Less) for many years, it has become clear that the prices at WinCo cannot be beat. Yes, Crest has some great deals, but that location (NW 23rd & Meridian) is awful to visit for several reasons as well. I prefer to go during off-peak hours, because it can get very busy and crowded. I really like the bulk section as well having more options than many other similar setups at other stores. They don't have everything I want all of the time, but overall their selection works for me. Their WinCo brand products have super low prices as well which I often opt for over brand names. Happy this store is in OKC!

The only recurring issue we've noticed is with the dairy department. Expiration dates don't seem to be monitored consistently. On several occasions, we've found entire pallets of milk with expiration dates that were the next day, leaving customers very little time to use the product. The same issue applies to yogurt. We've also found expired yogurt still being sold on the shelves instead of being removed. While we understand that an occasional item can be overlooked, this has happened often enough that it appears to be an ongoing problem. We truly enjoy shopping at WinCo and hope this feedback helps improve an otherwise outstanding store.
