Wonderful customer service! The lady I spoke with on the phone was responsive, prompt and understanding. MUCH better than Columbia City...

Self-check is a joke, a worker who is over it is rude! Do NOT waste your time; no one is ever at…read morethe customer service desk, and the staff is rude and unhelpful. Nothing is stocked; it's the worst Kroger I have been to, and I am from Indianapolis.

I'll be the first to admit that this Kroger isn't the fanciest, or even the cleanest, Kroger I've…read moreever seen. However, I'm not quite sure why it seems to have only 1-star reviews. Great? Nope. Awful? Nope. It's located in a rather nondescript strip center that is definitely a bit rundown. After hanging out in the highly renovated area of Wabash most of the night, I returned to my room at the Holiday Inn Select which is in the same parking lot as this Kroger and adjacent to the strip center. To be fair, as someone who was largely mobile by wheelchair during my stay the parking lot here was definitely a bit of a pit. Potholes were everywhere and I definitely had to watch where I was going. I'd asked the hotel staff when Kroger was going to open as I needed a few items for the road. Fortunately, they opened pretty early and I was able to go over before heading back out on the road. I'm not sure how old this Kroger is - however, it definitely looks and feels older. However, it has all the expected basics with accessible parking, automatic doors, curb cuts, and mostly workable aisles (somewhat more narrow than newer stores). To be fair, I was not able to find everything I needed. In most Kroger locations, I easily would. However, I somewhat expect this when visiting smaller towns. I arrived shortly after opening with only a couple cars in the parking lot and only a couple employees (it seemed). A couple more would arrive before I was done shopping. An employee was helpful with me as I could not find my Kroger card. She made sure to get me one so I could get available discounts. I appreciated that. I wouldn't say she was super friendly, however, at 7am I'm not particularly friendly either. This was a perfectly fine visit. This is an average Kroger that has most of the basics, however, if you're looking for a real supercenter experience it'll fall short. I didn't find everything I wanted, however, I was able to get most of what I needed and was able to get in and out quickly with solid service along the way. It's an easy walk, or in my case roll, from the hotel and while the entire strip center is a bit run down it didn't feel unsafe (though could use a tad better lighting).

Its a very cute place run by the Amish, off US 31 in the middle of nowhere, lots to like! It reminds me a bit of Cracker Barrel, you can buy things in the store section, baked goods, jams, etc. The deli counter is where you order up your Deli sandwich, prepared with care by young Amish ladies wearing proper attire. I had a Deli Roast Beef on homemade Wheat Bread with pepperjack cheese, chipotle sauce, and jalapenos, very good! Served with chips and a cookie if you wish. This place is the real deal, nothing franchisee about it, despite my Crackerbarrel comparison. I have to think my money spent there is supporting some Amish family/families, so I feel good about that. Check it out if you are ever out that way!! We will stop again, I am sure.

I would give them fine stars, but they lose one because the last time I was in there the man I presume to be the owner yelled at one of the sweet Mennonite young ladies who work there. I was standing well behind the counter looking at the menu. He yells at her thinking she's slacking and holding me up. I was simply taking my time choosing my lunch. Besides, he shouldn't be screaming at his help for any reason. They are sweet Mennonite Amish, for the most part, and are always a delight to talk to. Shame on him for treating them in that way. If I ever see him yell at them again, he surely will lose a customer.
