I gave this review because we bought 1 case of diet dr thunder we drank the first part of them and they were fine but we got halfway through and they were flat. I do not recommend buying these unless you check them first and the expiration dates were fine on these. read more

Clean restrooms, helpful staff... Enough cashiers, surprisingly. Not too much of a wait. . I did have to stop the cashier from over loading my bags & squashing items. Then she sold me a warranty, I did not want, so I had to go back to customer service for a refund this morning. They seem to have a shortage on leaf lettuce & the strawberries were over ripe & looked bad. They did have a tremendous amount of overnight parking for commercial vehicles, with trash cans nearby. There is a Huddle House, Pizza joint, Chinese food, & movie theatre, among others within walking distance. Also a Holiday Inn under renovation. All good, great place to restock & rest. read more

do NOT go to this store, especially not in an emergency. this is the closest walmart within 30 minutes, and yet every single time i come here they're out of the one product i need or the employees are too incompetent to update the website/answer the phone. the last few times i've been here, finding an employee to help me has been a nightmare, but this visit absolutely takes the cake. i accidentally ripped a patch of paint off the wall in my building, and after calling ahead to make sure the paint counter was still open- and after driving over 20 minutes to get here, i spend an additional 10 minutes trying to find an exact match for the paint because they're machine is broken (something they failed to mention on the phone). then, i wait for 5 minutes for an employee before calling the store and having them announce that a customer needs help at the paint counter. the employee (his name was adam) took well over 5 minutes to find the damn counter, and then took another 5 minutes to tell me if they even had the kind of paint that i needed (literally just basic wall paint in a flat sheen). finally, i hand him the sample and he fiddles around on the computer for a while before telling me that HE FORGOT THE FUCKING PASSWORD TO THE COMPUTER! i'm literally fuming at this point and he tells me that if i come back tomorrow someone will know the password. great, thanks. read more

This place is really clean and the store itself is clean and quiet. Shopping here feels as though you are shopping by yourself. Not many people at all. As far as camping in the parking lot, very clean and PLENTY of room. The only down side is this seems to be a popular teen hang out until late in the night. They all have old LOUD trucks and makes for it being almost impossible to sleep without waking. Once it hits past midnight, they seem to disperse so depends on when you get there to sleep I guess. Overall, we were satisfied with our stop at this Walmart. read more

I have recently made multiple trips to the Vandalia walmart recently to buy sporting goods or licenses. Twice, there was no one with keys available to get an item from the case. Today, two employees could not get into the store computer system so I could buy a license. I wont be going back. Its a waste of time and gasoline. I will order everything from Amazon. read more

Customer service is a no-brainer. They have been wonderful to me and have gone above and beyond in assisting me on what I needed to purchase! That would have qualified for five stars alone. Professionally, as an I.T. technician who regularly services these stores on as a 1099 contractor through NCR: not so much and have been questioned at times because they were not aware of a service visit when they called for it to be done. I have been buying my tires at Walmart for 10 years and I always pay extra to have Roadside Hazard on each one. In 10 years anytime I have blown a tire I can take it to the nearest Walmart Supercenter and have it replaced because I carry my Walmart tire receipts in the vehicle with me. Any state I have had tired problems on the road hyphen Florida Georgia Tennessee Ohio New York Pennsylvania Michigan etc. Walmart has always had great customer service replacing my tire and mounting a new tire on my rim with balancing. I typically have to pay $10 for the labor on balancing and a valve stem charge... This particular Walmart Including Alice in the tire department employee and her manager Mike refuse to replace my tire and told me every other Walmart I have been to you is wrong and this particular Walmart is correct and Mike the manager has been here for 5 years. I was holding in my hand 6 receipts for the six previous tires I purchased. I'm now on my way to drive an hour away to the Walmart in Champaign where I have already talked to a Tim in the tire department by then he was very helpful over the phone and said they would be happy to replace my tire. I don't believe I will ever stop at this Walmart again and would not recommend my friends coming to this particular Walmart in Vandalia Illinois. read more

It's 24 hours....that gives it 3 stars right there. They seem to always have a greeter at the door no matter the time...impressive. They sell really good Wal-mart made pizzas.....ok. They also have little burritos and rib sandwiches for a buck....excellent. Sure they have a sucky music selection and are lacking in their stock of legos and video games, but I'm addicted to this place. read more

this wal mart is always supplied with products. Associates are helpful, BUT like most Wal Marts, their staffing is reduced. Sometimes there are long lines to check out. I will admitt that the self check has expanded and that was helpful. They even have it where you can load dollars on your own cards without assistance! I recently found that I like shopping on line and having it delivered to my door! VERY COST EFFECTIVE. As a person gets older, those isles get longer and free delivery and no sacks, it is great. read more
