The reason the chicks are dead is because they don't take care of them, their water is always empty or spilt everywhere which can lead to health issues for the chicks. Same with the feed, it's always spilt too. When I'm righting this review I'm also talking about many other stores that sell animals not just this one rural king. They also don't care for their rabbits that they sell because they're kept in very small, metal cages that hurt their feet. I understand that they can't have very much room due to many reasons. But, there are many ways to upgrade their miserable lives. Like switching their water and food more frequently than just when it's empty. I was nice and gave them two stars though because they had all of the normal ones things as one store does. It's just makes me mad that no one cares about the quality of the animals lives in stores.

I found out that other locations from same competitor did have the item in stock and it could be sent to that store. So I asked her why they cant use that information? Then the girl said that they can only price match up to 20 miles from their store. I don't understand why that makes any difference when items are available and can be sent to the competitors store within their network and for free. So with a price difference of a $100 I got worst news, I will be going to the competitors and most likely not be returning to Buchheits. Reason number 1, PRICE! And number 2, is because of poor customer service.

I was purchasing something from a vendor on FB and we meet in the parking lot of Tractor Supply. I arrived early and since I had never shopped TS, I went in to browse around. Upon entering I was pleased to see that they offered affordable preventive vet care on select Saturdays. That is great outreach to the local community. I was also pleased to see that they enforced mask wearing and social distancing in the store. While I browsed the store, I found a good variety of dog treats and bought a couple bags to take to the local 5 A's Humane Society. Two other sections I found to be fairly impressive were the gardening tools and hand tools. Once we get into spring and planting flowers in my new backyard, I be revisiting TS for sure. When I first entered the store and heard chirping, I though at first it was background noise being played over the intercom. To my surprise, it was live baby chicks and they were making the noise due to feeding and cage cleaning time. If a pet store has small pets, I guess it is appropriate for a farm store to have baby chickens to sell. When I went to check out, I got a giggle. I had to ring a cow bell to let the staff know I was at the register. The staff was friendly and when I did ask questions, they seemed to fairly knowledgeable. I'm glad I took the time to go in and expand my shopping experience. I now know what they have to offer and when I am in need of those items, I will return to support a business in my new hood.
