They became the leading supermarket by putting a strong emphasis on customer service. They bring the adage "the customer is always right" to new levels. Add to this fantastic BOGO (buy one, get one free) deals and that alone makes for a winning combination. Add to this the iconic subs that they make in their deli (affectionately known as Pub Subs) and they become virtually unbeatable. These subs are pretty amazing. I usually go with their Italian sub or their roast beef. Both are excellent and I guess anything you would order at their deli counter would be a winner. This particular location is in Troy, Alabama and serves this community well. I must say that I would definitely recommend this particular location or any Publix, for that matter. I choose to give it five stars for their steps in making sure a visit to a Publix is always a wonderful experience.

Order 1- I called in an order for 90 wings - They made 90 potato wedges. Order 2 - I called in an order for a sandwich platter - I got bread, only bread on a platter. Order 3 - this past weekend I ordered 80 chicken tenders over a week in advance online. An hour and 5 minutes before pick up time the deli called saying they didn't have any tenders. 3 strikes - you're out!

As I sat at the railroad crossing 50 yards in front of this store, waiting for the world's longest train to clear the road, I developed a fierce thirst. After 20 minutes of watching drab-colored railcars roll s-l-o-w-l-y by, I whipped in for gas and a cold drink. The exterior is typical small-town convenience store, but the store is larger than it looks and serves as a general store for the area, apparently. Groceries, hardware, dog food, cleaning supplies, etc. stock the shelves. There's also a lot of cool old stuff around the store. Old scales, signs, and memorabilia from ye olden days. I wandered around a bit, ogling, selected a Diet Dr. Pepper, a can of snuff, paid for my gas, and hit the road. There's a pizza/deli area inside, with a couple/several tables to sit at, if you have nowhere to be and want to idle. The lady behind the counter was friendly and made the pit stop a bit more pleasant. Diesel pumps on the side, set-up like a mini truck stop.

The freezers constantly go out, yet they will still sell the food after it has defrosted and re-froze. Yuck. Don't buy anything frozen here. Just don't buy any food here, this place is dirty, old, and gross.
