Since Dillon's pulled out of the KC area, I try to find a Dillon's when I venture outside of the area. So when we went to Topeka yesterday, there was a Dillon's three miles from where we had to be, so we were excited when lunchtime rolled around and we were getting ready to return to Olathe. Went to Dillon's specifically for the Chinese food. Discovered that the tradition of fast and delicious Chinese food from a Dillon's isn't a given. The lo mein noodles weren't the tradiltional flat lo mein noodles at all; the noodles they used in it were the thick heavy noodles one usually finds in pho. The biggest thing, though, was the lack of any kind of flavor. Just tasted like noodles in a broth with no spices or flavoring. The entrees fell to the same issue: no real flavor at all, very bland. Egg roll was not crispy at all. Service was good. Man behind the counter was very friendly and acknowledged us almost immediately as we walked to the counter.

Managers here need to do better.

Well, there is nothing "cheap" in this store, unless it is damaged. It is sad, I remember you could eat for cheap shopping there. What's concerning for me is...it is the only grocery store in the area, which is economically low, and the prices were way more expensive than Walmart and Dillons. Just out of curiosity, I looked in the freezer area to see a brand that I might have know the regular price at other stores...a Totino's pizza that was so old the packing was blown up about to pop and it was $3.17!!! The same pizza (not old), is $1.75 at regular grocery stores. Are they marking up prices because they know many people in that neighborhood don't have transportation?!?! That's pathetic...do better!! I will not be shopping there again. Very disappointed!!!
