    This your order?

They are SO Good that they deliver items when you don't even order them! I received a grocery delivery to my door for another person at 8:00 AM. I did not find the order until that afternoon. I did the right thing and told them they made a mistake, they said they would send the delivery driver back to pick up the order. An hour later it was still sitting on my porch. Called again. Put on hold then hung up on. Drove the items to the store and left them at customer service with my story. So, to a Mr. or Mrs. E. Trujillo, I hope you weren't charged for that order. Pic attached.

Top flight security/loss prevention. Aka a joke! Lmao

Walking through the mostly abandoned Richmond Mall on the way to the driver's license office feels…read morelike stepping into a time capsule that never quite got sealed. The air is faintly cool and carries that unmistakable, slightly dusty mall scent--a blend of tile cleaner, food court grease, and decades of hair spray and nail polish remover (worth noting, two of the remaining stores are a nail salon and what I believe was a former Regis Salon... the staple mall salon of the 90's where Gen X and Millennials were traumatized with the experience of horrible high school dance hair do's that remained plastered to your head for days due to all the hair spray). The wide tiled corridors stretch out, eerily quiet and nostalgically peach colored, but your mind almost fills them with echoes: teenagers in acid-wash jeans, jangly bracelets, and oversized sweaters clustering at Aladdin's Castle; you almost crave the thrum of a fountain and the squeak of white sneakers on polished tile remains. (Today I coincidentally wore white Bobs sneakers, an unintended homage to 25 years ago when I would have been in Keds!) The faded pastel walls and neon trim still reflect the 1980s--mint greens, peachy pinks, and geometric accents that wouldn't feel out of place in the opening credits of Saved by the Bell. You half expect Zack Morris to lean against a payphone or Kelly Kapowski to walk past clutching a brightly colored oversized shopping bag. Every shuttered storefront seems to hold a memory of when the mall was the center of social life--Friday night hangouts, first dates, prom dress shopping, families crowding in line for Orange Julius. Ironically, the current stores and businesses are primarily bridal or formal wear or what appears to be a fairly popular community church. I do have to comment on the crazy collision and juxtaposition of two quintessentially American social constructs - the hip non-denominational church and the former temple of commercial consumerism. A quick search describes the church as a friendly and service-based community and I will admit that I find a strange sense of positive harmony in their use of this space. Despite the eerily abandoned and run down exterior, the interior of the mall was immaculately clean and while the Drivers Bureau could have had better signage and directions (you have to squander some faith when entering the mall at the direction of your GPS), I applaud our government for their use of this space. A short walk into the heart of the former mall finds a well-staffed office and a digital check in system that was highly efficient and ran promptly on time. The whole experience was more than a little surreal: a bureaucratic errand tucked inside the skeleton of America's mall culture, where the décor and the emptiness are both creepy and nostalgic. Outside of the drivers license bureau, there are very few stores. Most seem to be local stores (I didn't recognize any chains) and while it is not your typical mall experience, i think it was a great nostalgic adventure to an era that was the center of culture in a way that no longer exists.

I thought ok a glitch second guessing my desire to dump a full bag of clothes on the counter to check. So today I had to drive back 90 minutes to Richmond to get that tag off the item and decided to look around. There were several aisles along with displays upfront and back with Halloween items on clearance everywhere. I found a Halloween candelabra and was going to buy it and seen it was not marked down. So I asked the gentleman with the man bun, which appeared to be a manager, if he could check and see if the markdown had been missed. He said no, when they go through markdowns again it will be caught, plus it had a Marshall's sticker. He also told me Halloween items do not get marked down until the week of Halloween and are not marked down already. surprise Halloween is in three days and we were standing in front of a row full of markdown Halloween items. See pics!! And I told him that was strange. I've shopped at TJ Maxx since they've opened, I'm old, and they would be able to check. He said no they could not and all stores have the same policy. I called my relative who worked at TJ Maxx for years and they said the same thing I thought, they would normally catch it next markdown, but if there was an item that appeared to be that it should be marked down and a customer asks they have a little machine that they can put the numbers in and it will tell them if it should've been marked down. So what Richmond management was saying to me is I don't wanna be bothered after I had to drive 90 minutes to get the tag removed from clothing they missed. I can afford full price for a candelabra and it's nothing for me to spend several hundreds when I get to Richmond to shop at TJ Maxx there is none close and the maxx is my favorite chain store, but a valid markdown should be marked down regardless of what I can afford. Unfortunately, for Richmond, their TJ Maxx is nothing more than a glorified Ross and always a mess. I did not buy the candelabra and put back the clothes I was going to purchase. It was just the ethics of buying from this store that has no regards for customers. If they treated customers better maybe their store would sell more items and it would not be the messiest TJ maxx I go to.

I selected 2 coloring books and thought that I was going to be done in a few minutes because there were only a couple of people in line ahead of me. The elderly cashier kept having trouble with the register. I first thought that it was just a system issue, but the elderly cashier eventually blurted out that she had not been properly trained on the register and did not know how to use it. By that time, I had been in line for about 15 minutes. Instead of calling a supervisor for help, the elderly cashier kept fruitlessly pecking at the register trying to get it to work. My husband texted me to tell me that he was finished, so I put the coloring books on a display near the register and attempted to walk out. The elderly cashier saw me and threw a total tantrum about how I should put the coloring books back where I got them from. I told her that the situation was her fault, so an employee should put them back. I also told her that the last time that I stocked books at an Ollie's store was for a brief month of employment at an Ollie's store in the northeast over 20 years ago when I was trying to pay the bills before I got a much higher paying job at a bank call center, and I sure as heck was not going to do my old job for free. She still balked at me, but I then told her that I now have a master's degree and that the only way that I would put the books back was if the store paid me my current hourly wage of $30 an hour. I was so mad at her that I almost flipped her the bird as I walked out. Ollie's was bad 20 years ago, and it has gotten even worse as the company has expanded.

My daughter was seen by a local urgent care for a bee sting to her eyelid this morning -- the swelling was pretty severe and I worried benedryl wouldn't be enough. The NP ordered a steriod and we discussed the potential for cellulitis -- she ordered an abx to keep on hand with instructions that if cellulitis was developing to start the abx and take her to a pediatric ER due to the sensitive location. So -- steriods were needed and abx to have just in case. When I get to the pharmacy it took an unusual amount of time to get the meds ready. Any pharmacy can have an off day. So I strolled through the store with kiddo's eye swollen; she's irritated and uncomfortable. We start checking out and I realize the price is unusually high. There were 5-6 prescriptions...not the two I anticipated. I realized the NP either electronically rx'd other other meds that may be useful...or maybe a certain template of rx's generated for the problem we presented with. But between the urgent care center and the pharmacy I wasn't made aware of other medications I would be paying for and didn't realize it took awhile because they prepared all these medications I never intended to buy in the first place. So the pharmacy tech looked flusterd when I refused to pay for medications I felt I did not need (I have 4 kids and already have motrin, benedryl, and pepcid at the house). And the pharmacist called across the room "Well I hope she gets some benedryl because that's really important." There might have been some sass in her tone. Or I was just done meandering around a store with a cranky toddler at nap-time, eye all swollen from the bee sting. YES, I gave the antihistamine before I left for the urgent care clinic, thanks. I wonder if there is a way to include the patient in on prescriptions that are being prepared to reduce wasted time, effort, supplies, *before* checking out? We got what we needed and everything is fine but the process wasn't efficient for the pharmacy staff or myself..
