This is an OK store but I prefer the atmosphere and selection at the local Walmart. It's a very basic selection and there isn't much here if you like fresh food. It serves its purpose though!

I ordered the pizza when I was like 15 minutes outside of town online. I got thin crust pepperoni with extra sauce. When I got there it took a few more minutes for my pizza to be ready. I looked around and bought stuff I didn't need in the meantime. Took my pizza home (another 15 minutes) and starting eating it. I liked the crisp crust. I don't think they put extra sauce on it because it was a little dry. Considering it was advertised to have 4? different kinds of pepperoni on it I didn't think it had that much flavor. It certainly wasn't the worst pizza I've ever had but it was nowhere near the best either. Next time I'd probably choose Domino's instead but I'm glad I tried it. Oh, and I filled up my tank on the way in so there's that. I'm sure this is already a big hit in Owensville though!

I have been a regular for pretty much the whole 7 yrs. I like the pizza, burgers, Chicken sandwich. I only took one star off due to the belligerence of one employee. Nearly all of these people are great and polite. There's one cook that thinks he's the manager I believe but is grossly fooling himself. For 7 years I have been asking for tomato on my burger or chicken sandwich. They are sold with just a bun, which is a bit dry to eat that way. But, I believe it keeps them fresher. So, for 7 years, I always ask for tomato or onion. There is a subway type sandwitch bar there also and they always have the extras. Most times they charge for them and that's ok. Today was a busy day and the store had several customers. I ordered the chicken sandwitch and asked for a slice of tomato. He loudly exclaims "we are not allowed to do that"! Loud enough could almost be heard outside, as if I was committing a crime. I took my sandwitch and stepped over to the sandwitch bar and asked the young lady if I could get a slice of tomato from her, as she already has tomatos on the bar. She was all too happy to oblige. Like I mentioned, I have been doing it this way for the last 7 years as a lot of other people. As I said, I am a regular. 'Baby Huey' comes out of the kitchen and over the the sandwitch bar, proclaiming loudly again, "we arent aloud to do that!" rudely interrupting the young lady, who had a tomato slice ready to put on the sandwich. I could have easily let the situation get out of control, but I decided to let it go. What can you expect out of a pea brain. Very big and tall with no brain. Still, I know these days, good help is hard to find, but sometimes they need to follow-up on the new hires. Especially, in these days which we live. I still recommend the store overall.

What makes this one special besides the fact that they are almost always 5 to 10 cents cheaper than any gas station in St. Louis, is that it also has a small, but adequate grocery store in the back of it. The counter where the cook handed us our food was covered in food crumbs, and food residue. The cook didn't even act like he cared. He just sat our food on top of it all. We watched him cooking our food, and he was acting like he didn't even want to be there. Our napkin dispenser was covered in dust, and even had some kind of dried food on it. The whole time we were there, there was between 2 and 4 boys standing around behind the counter/register doing nothing. And we even witnessed the cook picking a dish towel up off the counter and wiping his forehead off with it, and then laying it back down on the counter! Something needs to be done about this! The whole area was dirty, and unsanitary. I will say that the rest of the store was clean, but we absolutely will not be spending our money in the hot food area again! Also I tried to contact them through the store email contact on their website 3 different times since then. Every time I try it says unable to send, try again later. We had burgers and onion rings. The world's smallest Walmart might just be in Cuba, MO. Located at Exit 208 of Highway 44, this is…read moreone of the smallest Walmart stores I've seen. The parking lot is large with reserved spots for law enforcement and cars with a disabled plate/sticker. There is only one parking spot for wheelchair loading Vans. In the summer part of the parking lot is used to sell/store seasonal supplies such as landscaping timbers and mulch, etc. It is amazing how much they can pack into such a small store. Think Super Walmart only less of it. TV's, laptop and computer accessories can be found here just like cellphones, guns, fishing gear and toys. The clothing/shoe department is small but well stocked for adults as well as for children. A seasonal department offers gardening supplies and lawn mowers in the summer and Holiday decor during the winter. There are basic pantry staples as well as a dairy/cold case. This Walmart does not have a separate liquor store - there is a small shelf of alcoholic drinks and mixers. They do offer some arts and craft supplies as well as books and magazines. The store is wheelchair accessible. Bathrooms are male/female only and also wheelchair accessible. A changing station is available. The staff is generally very helpful but returns (especially electronics) are often a problem. We have tried to return a cell phone several months ago that was well within the time frame specified for returns. Despite having a receipt, all the original packaging and the credit card used for purchase we were told they could not accept the return because the phone was purchased at a different location. Another return of a television was also denied. The reason given was that there was nobody in the Electronics Department that could verify the serial number of the TV. Checkout is available at three registers, the customer service desk and several self-checkout stations. This is not a 24-hour location. This Walmart is open 6am - 11pm 7 days a week, Pharmacy hours are 9am - 9pm Mo - Friday, 9am - 7pm on Saturday and 10-7pm on Sundays. This store does not require the wearing of masks.
