Some people will be able to do all their shopping here with canned and dry goods, cleaning supplies, bathroom soaps and lotions, snacks, frozen foods and many upper Midwest canned goods like honey and jams. It's hard to call it a hardware store, maybe a home center, lumber yard, construction supplies, grocery store and garden center? I was in town so I called Walmart to see if I needed an appt to get a specific battery installed or if I could walk in. I was told for this battery I could walk in, purchase, and they would install. This was the first lie. My husband went in and purchased the battery and after the fact Jason the auto "manager" said he wouldn't install it unless he bought a different battery. This was after already confirming there was installation. We ended up placing the battery in my car and immediately knew something was wrong because the battery light came on and the AC was not blowing consistently. This didn't even happen with my OLD battery I was told to replace. We took their battery back out and replaced it with my old battery and my husband returned to the store to exchange it for a new battery and the one they claim is the only one they offer install on. This is when Maya and Anthony decided to lie to a manager and tell them we are having car problems. It is not a problem with MY car when your battery doesn't work. I have proof of diagnostics on my car that there is nothing wrong with it and no dash light was on when I replaced it with my old battery. Jason said he "wasn't comfortable" putting a battery in my car claiming there was a problem with it when he didn't look at it or run diagnostics. It's very interesting because I have heard from numerous people that Jason actually doesn't replace the oil cap when he changes people's oil, causing more problems and money spent. But apparently when it involves a battery, or a Hispanic trying to have work done, he has "top notch" judgement in mechanics. Then, after speaking with Kristen on the phone she said there is no reason any of this should have happened and to return to the store to exchange the battery. She said we would need to speak to a "high level" manager to resolve this. So I go back to the store and I talk to Zach who claims to be a high level manager but I saw no evidence of this. His lack of managerial experience, accountability for his staff, and resolution was alarming. His name tag also said he was in stocking so I am unsure what relevance that has to management or to the auto center. Zach continued to regurgitate the lie of the auto department stating they would not return or exchange their faulty battery claiming that it was a problem with my car that they have never put hands on. He took no responsibility for the behavior of staff and he was recording me and every other customer there without consent using his Meta Glasses. I'm not sure what Walmarts policy is on staff recording customers but this is something everyone in that store should be aware of. Ultimately I left, contacted corporate, went to AutoZone who changed the battery for me, confirmed that Walmart sold me a faulty battery, and went to a different walmart location who DID refund me on the battery.

I asked the employee watching the checkouts, she was right next to the one I used, if scanning the same item multiple times was okay for multiple purchases. She told me that was fine. I could scan the same package of butter 4 times for 4 packages. I did so. I also did the same thing with a bottle of lemon lime soda. Scanned the same bottle 6 times for 6 bottles. I noticed this lunatic employee was standing off to the side of me, watching what I did. I thought nothing of it. I got to a bucket of lard I was purchasing and was preparing to scan it when BOOM! This lanky, rude kid pushes me aside and says, "Attempted fraud! We have to check this out!" Pathetic, ignorant, rude wretch proceeds to start punching keys, pushes me out of the way and then says, "It all checks out." I was infuriated beyond words!!! He grabs the bucket of lard, scans it, puts it down and says, "You're okay, we're done." I lost it. I said, "Junior, I da%n well don't need YOU to check out my items in self checkout! What the ***((( do you think I'm trying to do?!! STEAL A BUCKET OF LARD?!!!!!!" I hate this WalMart!!! I've observed them pulling similar stunts before on other folks. PURCHASE YOUR FOOD ITEMS AT ALDI'S! At least they don't attack you, shove you out of the way, etc.

They used to not have gluten free eanything but now I can go there and they will have a fairly good gluten free selection which is unusual in a little town. They will order sometig for you if you tell them. All the staff is awesome and will help you find anyting you need and you do not have to wait in a long line to get checked out. I will go here rather than go to Wal Mart because I hate Wal Mart and us in Lamar are stuck with Wal Mart since we have no grocery store. Wish Muncys would open a small place here in Lamar too. They would do good here because all us who do not like Wal Mart are many. We are having to drive to Puttsburg or Joplin to have a decent grocery store unless we drive east to Muncys. The only thing I have noticed is that unless you plan on using the meat you buy at Muncys within a few weeks it will go bad. So their meat section has gone down from what it used to be and that bothers me. I used to love their fresh meat section but dunno what they have done but it as gone down in quality from what it used to be. They moved everything in the store in odd places and their prices have gone up too much in alot of products. I understand that inflation is happening and real but when I can get the same exact products for less online and at Dollar General it tells me one thing , that their owner is jacking prices for his own gain. Aside from that the employees are awesome and helpful , and the selection is decent too. If you want a good store locally this is a great place, as long as you have no income restrictions.
