Improve your parking lot!! I don't feel safe parking my car here, and I park in a handicapped spot.

I can't leave a lower review for this Walmart than a 1. Go to the other one if you can. Or better yet, shop at a completely different store. Walmart's good are so cheap. Anything you buy here will break ridiculous quickly. Boots will squeak after low usage. Air mattresses have holes in them. Headphones break very quickly. Shirts easily get tears. Microwaves break quickly. Go to a real store and buy quality goods. It will be a little more expensive, but you will save money in the long run. read more

Problem with the Walmart "superstore" in Johnson City, NY. I just moved to Windsor, NY. Please note that the address is a unique one. There is no other address like it in the United States according to the USPS. I decided to use my expensive Walmart Plus annual subscription to order some food and associated items the night before for a "guaranteed" delivery the following morning. The following morning there is no order at my front door. I receive a text that my order was delivered. I look at the digital picture attached, and it is not the front of my door. I call the Walmart Plus customer service and explain the non-delivery. She said that it is not "eligible for a refund." I learned that Walmart outsourced my Walmart Plus delivery to someone who delivered it to a friend. Then I called the Walmart Supercenter in Johnson City, NY and they said that they couldn't help me, although they store hired the "driver" that submitted the bogus proof of delivery, and bogus from door of my home.. I was told that I could "request" a refund. However, I told the store to either contact the "driver" or just resent the order. Both were rejected. I called the Walmart Plus customer service and had a better agent this time. He found my order and initiated a refund and even suggested I could re-order the same items. I did that and of course will follow this up, since Walmart is highly promoting Walmart Plus, and I'm even a Walmart shareholder. For now, I suggest looking at your bill if you purchase items at the Walmart "superstore," in Johnstown, NY. read more

We had a great experience at this Walmart, although the store was missing items as we noticed shelves were empty in some areas. We were looking for cleaning products like fantastic or lysol. We came across Fantastic cleaning spray but no lysol disinfectant spray. The fruit section needs a little love, most of the items were almost reaching their shelf life as some veggies like the asparagus were literally dry up. Overall we thought the store was very clean and we liked the fact that security was outside the store enforcing the mask policy. As usual we came across people shopping in the store that had their masks only covering their mouth and not the nose? Go figure people dont take covid seriously still even with 170,000 ppl dead. God help us all, thank you Walmart for doing the right thing! read more

I needed new wheels for my car. Should have gone to Wheelmart instead. I thought Johnson City was a city full of, well, Johnsons. It's true to an extent because it's full of d**ks. Jk. This is the Walmart that I came to to buy some beauty products and some fruit and some baby oil. Don't ask me what the baby oil was for. OK. Yes I was expecting a visit from a girl. No the oil wasn't just for her. Yes it is still in my trunk. I mean my handbag. I mean my trunk. Walmart has most stuff you could possibly need. This location is pretty standard compared to most stores. Their fruit isn't always fresh, though. Anything that isn't perishable is in good condition. One thing I noticed about this Walmart was that at 2 in the morning the clientele were a little bit sketchy. Like I'm pretty sure I saw a few hookers and drug dealers and crystal meth addicts in here. Made me very excited but they wouldn't tell me where they got their Meth from. Very interesting. read more

Absolutely awful customer service!! They have the baby formula locked in a glass case to prevent theft. There's a button to push to get assistance with the formula but when you push it nobody comes. 4 times over the past month I have tried to buy formula when I get the rest of the groceries but It's impossible. I have asked other associates for help and they "don't have a key but will page someone ". Still nobody comes. I spent 20 minutes waiting before giving up. I'm done shopping at Walmart! If I can't get everything I need in one place I'm not wasting my time. read more

My 72 year old mom went to the store to buy a pre paid phone n they never told her that the phone that she bought was a TMobile contract phone. They never gave her any paper work on it or anything. She didn't know anything till she spoke with me a couple days later n I told her that it was a contract. Please everyone watch out for your elderly parents that are trying to buy a phone on there own. I live 2 hours away from my parents. N when I contacted T Mobile they tried to make my mom buy it her 2 year contract at$48 a month. Till I told them they would hear from my attorney. Then n only then she was told that she could take the phone back to the store n the contract would be null n void. Please be ware of how they treat the elderly at this store!!! read more

Called the electronics department and nobody picked up twice. I was then transferred to the costumer service department where I was greeted by a very rude worker who kept mumbling. After I was finally able to tell her what I was calling for, she transferred me back to the electronics department line! I've been on hold for a crazy amount of time! read more

This is a hit-or-miss Walmart, and my rating has nothing to do with the absence of a vision center or fast food restaurant. So I'm doing a "roll back", to use the company's lingo, to make it clear this location is barely mediocre for Walmart standards in the year 2020. We all know Walmart as a place where you can always find what's not at your go-to grocery store, pharmacy, or other discount store (or what's too expensive at one of these three places compared to what you can safely guesstimate the price will be at Walmart). Not here. One day, there were no 40oz bottles of generic honey. On more than one occassion one or two varieties of commonly sold generic dry beans weren't on the shelves (I can't remember if I was looking for chick or black, but I wasn't looking for an organic heirloom medley.). Yesterday they only had green lentils, there weren't any red lentils. There was the time I just knew there'd be more baby shampoo/conditioner options here compared to CVS but found fewer than five types of baby shampoo and no baby conditioner. I want to talk about the folding chair I couldn't find yesterday, but I didn't ask a staffer to verify their inventory (like I did when looking for a utility cart, of which there was only one), so I won't. Then there's the issue of a lack of training or lack of wanting to follow procedure. It hasn't happened a lot, but it's happened enough to be one of the factors that made a case for this yelp. So, based on my complaints above, inventory and stocking seem to be an issue. There was the time when my refund was put on my credit card instead of on my debit card because, even though I paid with a debit card, the staffer claimed there was a glitch preventing the refund to be applied to my debit card. And yesterday, I experienced another one for the #ReallyTho files: The cashier who helped us - who was as slow as molasses, btw (Real talk: the person who came behind us to be the thrid in line, waited, observed, then shook his head a little and left for another queue) - ABSOLUTELY NEEDED to unnecessarily touch all three of my bulk bread items to ring them up. Even though I'd put them in one clear bag, and even though ringing up these items doesn't require weighing them separately - which I know for sure because I'd learned to ring them up myself at self check-out in Vestal - this cashier needed to handle my food. She pulled out my mini ciabatta and put it in a separate bag; then pulled out each of the mini baguettes (one wheat one white) and just held them in her hand, one by one, while trying to ring them up because she could neither remember nor find the code for these three $1 items. That's when I noticed that she was wearing gloves. But wait. Had she always been wearing the gloves? Because I have never EVER - not even when I've put my bulk items in a brown bag - had a cashier need to touch my food, it never crossed my mind to be so critical of this one. I mean, I didn't find a booger on my bread when I got home, but still. This was not the context for tactile learning, gloves or no gloves, which didn't help any because she STILL rang up the bread wrong (and I made sure to tell her twice the $1 price I saw on the bin of each variety). Last year I was on my way to Scranton, via the greyhound bus from Toronto. I had a 4hrs layover in Binghamton so I thought i'd get all my camping stuff there, along with a prepaid visa. Everything was working out until i discovered you need an American address to activate a prepaid credit card, and i had just put a large chunk of cash on one that i didn't know how to get back. I told this story to your customer service agents, and it felt like the entire staff was gathered around trying to help me fix the situation. After an hour on the phone with the CC company we finally got my money back and i was able to get to Scranton to enjoy the music festival Thanks! read more

I have to use delivery service and at times,pick up. I use SNAP, low income,retired,disabled and yes,I paid my fair share of taxes until injured at work,taking care of other people...Walmart pick up/delivery required a bank card or credit card for SNAP only purchasers. Or you don't shop. They were charging taxes,weights on products that were already packaged and should not have a weight fee and 3 different times I had to contact my bank for unauthorized charges by the. Third party Walmart company for PU/Delivery. This was for pick up only. They would also charge my bank card for tips on pick up. I am on a fixed income and I can't afford to tip Walmart employees. It did not bother tye third party company that I filed a complaint against them for theft and unauthorized charges which my bank gave back to me. Next I no longer shop at Walmart. Walmart has lost my business and many others in our area due to the third party stealing from us. It is harder on our families having to shop for us but we can't afford instacart, Uber or any of the other delivery services who want service fees, delivery fees and a big tip...l read more

So, I was at the Johnson City NY walmart this morning to pick up a couple of essentials and I was appalled by the Harrassment of the store employees. My daughter and I were sharing a cart to pick up the items and we "UNDERSTAND" the concept of 1 item person. We both picked up "1" pack of bathroom tissue for each and I was HARRASED by 3 different employees that I could not buy both the packs of bathroom tissue. But keep in mind 2 people sharing one cart. In this critical time of need and desperation your employees should not be harassing customers. This really ruined my morning! read more

PeopleofWalmart.com!! This store is pretty weird. You get all kinds of strange Walmart people. The greeters don't greet and there's usually a police officer nearby. Parking lot is huge and the layout is pretty weird. We were looking for charcoal and it ended up being in the gardening center. This Walmart location is a newer build compared to other Vestal location. While this is a Super Walmart (meaning they have a grocery store), the store is much smaller than the Vestal location. For some, this may be nice as it is less overwhelming. They still have everything you need at Walmart - toiletries, bedding/bath, electronics, auto, paint, clothing, grocery, etc. This location also has a Subway and hair and nail salon inside. The worst part of this store is probably trying to check out. There never seems to be enough cashiers working. The people that frequent this Walmart are CHARACTERS. 30 years ago my Dad met Sam Walton doing business in Bentonville, Arkansas. Quantity and price was always their mission. No different today, in fact Sam would've been amazed at the ginormous expansions worldwide. People residing in Broome must remember that by the time you read this, KMart surely will be but a memory. Walmart provide jobs here and the patrons are real people looking for value. They say that if it exists it's in New York City. So far, not one is in NYC but in Broome there are two. I forgot my pajamas when visiting the triple cities. I picked some up at Wal-Mart for $12. What a strange and depressing place.

I can not agree with the previous reviews at all. We parked our little rv ther overnight and felt safe at all times. Yes there might be people that are dressed weird, but that's not what I am going for if I go to the store. Nice and very friendly people who work there if you are nice to them! Weird store! No one is around to help you, they WILL NOT work with you to exchange items with receipt after a certain amount of time, and does NOT honor national recall returns. This store also only has one entrance and exit, which makes you really uncomfortable as a parent to shop here. IMO, this is the better of the two local Walmarts as you don't have to park a mile from the front door, workers are friendlier, it is kept cleaner( I always see them with a sweeper) and to check out is much faster than Vestal because of being less crowded. I hate the layout though( just like Vestal), sometimes it takes me a while to figure out where something is that i'm looking for. There is a subway restaurant here too, it's alright if your hungry after shopping. And there is nothing weird or strange about this place, I dunno what the others are talking about. Disrespectful and down right...Ghheettoooh!! Never shopping there again. And I'm going to tell ALL my nice, kind, respectful, intelligent, educated friends and family to do the same. I'm sure, their response will be " Oh.. I never go there to begin with! " So, I will no doubt tell everyone I work with how horrible my experience was, especially my wife! She was treated like, one of the " degenerate people, who are unfortunately employed there. She is even considering calling a lawyer for deformation of character!! My wife is a kind classy, woman who doesn't judge anyone and smiles at everyone. A woman who takes care of herself daily and has meticulous hygiene, which says volumes about the class of people who work at this particular store. The store itself is fine for whatever you need... However, the customer service is terrible! The Pharmacy is the WORST pharmacy I have ever been to in my life, and the only bathrooms they have are all the way in the far back corner of the store! Not exactly customer friendly for the elderly, disabled or pregnant. The parking is also terrible and they should have parking reserved for expectant mothers. It's not exactly ideal to waddle 1/2 mile to the store when it's -1 degrees outside with blustering winds when your 9 mos pregnant. read more
