But to be honest, this store wasn't around when I was there, but it's the same concept as the one I used to go to. So here's the concept: it's a grocery store with everything you need. It's a one-stop; you can pay your bills and then hop in the deli line. Now, all the people with jobs near and some far come to the deli to get their lunch, and the ones who are college students and the ones not working that day constantly look back, over our shoulders, at the person behind them, asking are you working today, if so, we let them get in front of us. It's the most friendly atmosphere because we are also talking and getting to know each other. Now the staff knows everyone and doesn't miss a chance to ask the person how they are doing or what the plans are for the weekend. But there's another amazing thing: the food is always good. I mean straight-up delicious. I tried to go light this day. One reason is I had just gone to Wendy's for a burger, but I turned the corner and saw the store, saw Vowells. So I had to stop! Normally, I would have gotten something like the pork chop, meatloaf, chop steak, liver with mac and cheese, corn, rice, cornbread!! But I didn't. So, I think I'll swing back by today for lunch to make up for yesterday!

There are many many disgusting things about this store: 1) There is a nosy elderly person (probably the owner) who often walks behind you in the store, insists and looking at your shopping list and keeps on pestering you what you should buy. Totally outlandish. Totally annoying. 2) Merchandise way past their expiration are never removed from the shelf. Unsuspecting customers often purchase these and don't discover it until they go home. As a result many of the customers do not return back. 3) Rotten and decomposing produce is not removed from the display. The above negatives are not a one time observation. These are persistent bad practices, unworthy of an American business.
