Worst experience at this Walmart today, 5/22/26. Went to the store to purchase transmission fluid. Couldn't find it so I asked a middle aged female Walmart employee for help at the motor oil section. She said to me "Spanish only" & walked away, how rude. What the fook? Why would Walmart hire employee that can't help customers in English? I get it, it's nice to provide help to non English speakers, but not providing help to English speakers? & treating English speaking customers rudely? Are you kidding me. Absolutely terrible. We then went through "AI hell" as their phone system passed us around to unanswered rings and "this mailbox is full" messages. purchased a 35 package of water, I have been trying to contact store and they do not answer, I called several different times they just don't answer, the phone rings and rings and rings... terribly disappointing. discouraging, , frustrating, and horrible. This Walmart is always busy so I try to avoid during peak times but no matter when I visit, staff is always kind and helpful. I'm always greeted when I enter, exit and throughout the store especially by individuals stocking. The store is always clean including the restroom which is impressive for the amount of traffic they get! When I go, it's mainly for the pharmacy. My senior kitty (20 years old) is on quite a few meds and I get them at this location because it's most affordable for me. The meds are always ready when promised and staff is great even when I do curbside pick-up during a busy time. Sometimes I'm too exhausted to even think about going in (fatigue from Long COVID) and I truly appreciate them offering curbside pick up and always being so pleasant! I always recommend this pharmacy especially when paying any out of pocket costs. Great staff, great selection and definitely a great location that's easily accessible. read more

I am so upset with the customer service here. I contacted them about my missing package and they said they have proof of my package being delivered and they left it at that. They said they have the proof and I asked to see it because my neighbor has the same door number as mine, They just asked if there's anything else they could help with and IGNORED MY QUESTION? Every time I call in the 3 years now that I've been here in the Hartford area in Hartford, whatever they don't ever pick up the phone. It's a small Walmart. Everything's locked up. Obviously cuz everybody wants to steal and I'm pretty sure everybody wouldn't steal if you guys actually checked your cameras regularly. Also, it seems like they get annoyed with helping us if that's the case, don't work with the public. I was told by one of the hiring managers to fill out an application that he would have me for an interview and the sound of it was like he was going to use me. Basically like to work there. I had to keep like renewing the same freaking application to the point where I was like you know what screw this. I just gave up Annie and every time I called I could never ever ever get a hold of anybody and them not to mention East Windsor Walmart is way a million times bigger, better. And trust me, there's bums out there too but they're like hardly anything's locked up. Your prices are sky high now, and not even not even just that. It's just it's very hard to shop somewhere where everything is scattered at the Flatbush one like it's so bad so scattered so bad and there are so many young people there that are unprofessional and very not polite. And this one girl was lucky. I didn't slap her ass like my freaking nephew. I'm kidding. I don't hit my nieces or nephews. Never would. There's hardly any selection of that store and it's very messy. Not only that, why is customer service and the money service thing down at different times? Rather you go to East Windsor or Walmart and it's open till the store closes. Y'all need a lot of fixing to do and you should definitely have whoever you hire. The worst Walmart! I have never in my life been in a store where I am uncomfortable to ask a staff member a question because they are so rude, you would think I was asking for a kidney. Just yesterday I said "excuse me miss" to a worker walking by, she was on her phone and rudely said, "I'm off the clock" and kept walking. So I found another team member, she didn't speak English. Then I went to 2 other team members I saw chatting and they were annoyed that I was bothering them. Even though this store is closer to me than other Walmart locations, I simply cannot come here again. Quite honestly, every person that works there should be fired. They should get new management that requires staff to be polite and friendly to customers. It's truly beyond ridiculous. The Hartford, CT Walmart Supercenter never fails to disappoint. Yesterday was just another example of the systemic indifference and incompetence I have experienced again and again there. I had lost a receipt for an item I had charged to a company credit card. I have easily gotten replacements in the past, and this was the most convenient Walmart to where I work, so off to the Hartford store I went. I went to the service desk and said that I needed a duplicate receipt. I knew this would not turn out well when the person behind the counter asked me if I had a receipt. I explained that if I had a receipt, I would not need a replacement. He didn't know how to do this, so he asked the other person behind the counter, who apparently didn't know either, so off he went to find a Supervisor. One came by, and she looked equally confused. Finally, the original staffer noticed that my credit-card statement that gave the date and amount indicated that I had purchased the item at the Bristol, CT store, so he said that I had to go to Bristol. I have gotten Bristol receipts through the Hartford store before, so I asked, "Are you sure?" I then explained that I have gotten receipts from other stores in the past, but he and the supervisor insisted. At this point, I am annoyed, so I said that if they were wrong, I was going to file a complaint with corporate. The supervisor told me that this would be fine, so if she prefers a complaint to a resolution, then that is what I will do. I went to Bristol, 5 minutes later I had a duplicate and when I told the story, the gentleman behind the Service Desk said that they can easily issue receipts from any Walmart store, if the date, time and original credit card are available. So, the complaint will be sent, and, to help others avoid inaccurate customer service, reviews will be put on various review sites. After all, this is what the staff at the Hartford Supercenter wanted. read more

Socialism is a bad thing. This place hasn't recovered yet from Covid. Clothes and clothes always missing common sizes. They lock up underwear, yes, underwear. How about instead of locking things up for regular customers you hire the hartford police department full time at the store? So then I asked, do you have a flatbed that I can wheel this out to my car? He replied, "nah bro, I'm the only one here you gotta get a cart". A cart? A shopping cart? For a 75 inch TV? So I went to customer service and the guy there said the worker in electronics will get me a flatbed, to which I replied, no, he refused and told me to get one. Okay Walmart are you stupid! Here is you current store policy during COVID-19 - "Starting Saturday, we will limit the number of customers who can be in a store at once. Stores will now allow no more than five customers for each 1,000 square feet at a given time, roughly 20 percent of a store's capacity. To manage this restriction, the associates at a store will mark a queue at a single-entry door (in most cases the Grocery entrance) and direct arriving customers there, where they will be admitted one-by-one and counted. Associates and signage will remind customers of the importance of social distancing while they're waiting to enter a store - especially before it opens in the morning. Once a store reaches its capacity, customers will be admitted inside on a "1-out-1-in" basis." My issue with this is now people are gathering in groups outside the store entrance! I went shopping to go get some Halloween pajama pants and shirt. They had a small women's selection and everything they has was in 3XL. I was dissatisfied with what they had and went searching around the store for more but didn't find anything. To add to that, after I got the next best Halloween pajamas, I went to go get a pack of low sugar monsters but when I got to where they were, there was only the regular ones, and the originals. I got upset because last time I went to get monsters there they gad a huge selection but oh well. I am mainly upset because of the lack of Halloween spirit at Wall Mart and I hope that they add to that. its the end of September and the beginning of fall but they cant have Halloween things? I have been a loyal Walmart customer for years! Every now and then I had small issues which I dealt with quickly. Recently I placed an order that claimed to be delivered but it was not! I contacted Walmart immediately regarding this issue and was told someone would contact me. But instead, the following day Walmart deleted my account entirely without explanation or warning. I believe this was done maliciously by the representative I dealt with. I attempted to open a new account and was blocked. I could not believe I was frozen out!! I called and sent emails several times in attempt to recover my account to no avail. Walmart refuse to help me! Now I cannot access my account for all my pass/pending purchases or make orders. I am a disabled person, homebound who greatly depended on Walmart. I fail to understand why Walmart did this to me? It was cruel and malicious! I was left, upset, frustrated and angry I received such horrible treatment after all these years by Walmart. I'm extremely disappointed and hurt. I never thought Walmart would ever do such a thing. One of the worst Walmarts I've ever visited. Customer service is non-existent (employees are either preoccupied stocking shelves or distracted and standing around talking, many don't speak English). Everything useful is locked away or has huge clunky sensors on it (I had to wait nearly 10 mins for an associate with a key, just to buy a $7 pack of dove soap). There are maybe 4 human cashiers, the store is mainly self checkout, and the self checkout registers are predominantly card only (meaning you'll have to wait longer if you use cash). The panhandlers are everywhere (inside and outside the store begging for money), the panhandlers and employees often smoke near the stores entrance doors. You have to scavenge the store or go to the parking lot for shopping carts (the indoor returns are empty a majority of the time). There are aisles and aisles of empty shelves, usually the grocery items like meats, juices and dairy. Lastly, there is a line to exit (you have to show a receipt to get out). I avoid this Walmart when I can, I'll usually drive an extra 15 mins to E Windsor or Cromwell stores to avoid the hassle. read more

Called to check on tires June 3, 2019 in the automotive section took me two times to finally get through to that dept when I get through the guy said hold on then he came back after a few minutes took the size of tire and then never came back again. This was at 3 PM Then the next day I called the main operator this time it just rang and rang I hung up call back again it rang and rang and then somebody did pick up and they hung up the phone !! I called back a third time just to see what would happen and it rang and rang and rang and this was at 6:30 PM on Tuesday, June 4 so whoever is working is horrible read more

My daughter and son in law were at this store yesterday 3/15 and were followed by a black male throughout the store at an extremely close proximity, while he was holding his phone. They assumed he was security and fully understand there is a job to be performed. Why would this so called security not be a bit more seamless in his role? Once at the cash register my daughter shared with the cashier her dismay as she is a frequent shopper. The cashier confirmed the individual did work there but did not apologize for his actions. Thus the reason for this write up. The story does not end there as they then both went to Walmart to find the same male in the isle they were in doing the same?? Is he security or does he get off intimidating and or taking pictures? Neither of them said anything to the individual nonetheless, he should be addressed for his approach and actions. read more

I will be frank and say that I dislike bigbox stores as a rule but in spite of this, recognize that this is a very good Walmart. It's better than any Walmart I've been in throughout the USA. They are well-staffed, have ample inventory, and the aisles/store layout actually makes sense. It's my family's preferred grocery store, even the produce and vegetables are as good as other more high-end chains in Connecticut. Also the home shopping department is really with it. Nice people and reliable service. I hope it is as nice a place to work as it is to shop, because we care about that. Great job whoever is the manager here!! read more

Ladies and gentlemen, Wal*Mart. We all know what we're getting here, folks. We're getting products and groceries at what are supposedly the best prices around. Hell, I know my wallet thanks me for doing grocery shopping here as it's not as painful on the budget. Would I purchase clothing here...dear God, no. I'd rather be seen in a burlap sack. But Wal*Mart is what it is. Tips to make your Wal*Mart experience a little more palatable... 1. Shop here at off times (early in the AM, later in the evening). Still, be prepared for the inevitable screaming child who is exhausted from not sleeping for 24 hours. 2. BRING YOUR iPOD, etc. This is essential anytime you're here. 3. If you only have a few items, and you must shop during peak times, use the self-checkout...even if there is a line. Your sanity will thank you. 4. If you choose to use the manned check out lines, don't expect much. I've been greeted and thanked exactly once in this store. So keep your expectations very, very low. 5. Try to park near the garden center. You can get in and out easily as there is an entrance right there. It'll save you traffic problems in the main parking lot. 6. When purchasing meat, look for the yellow tags. Those are packages that are "use or freeze" features. There is a certain number of days a package of meat can be left out for sale, and these are at the end of that life. There is nothing wrong with this meat, the store is simply complying with state law. There's no shame in shopping at Wal*Mart, folks. When friends come to my home, nobody realizes that the bag of Dorito's I just opened came from there. You'll just have a few more sheckles in your pocket after buying it. read more

I have been to a few Walmarts in my days but this one is different. I came here yesterday because I need to pick up some Rit dye for a home improvement project and the website told me to come to Walmart to get it. It is a Walmart, so in that sense, I don't think its worse off than any other Walmarts out there. I even had an employee came up and ask me if I need any help when I looked lost in the aisle where they kept all the light bulbs, and he asked with a big smile on his face. However, it is different from the other Walmarts I have visited because of the ominous feeling this place gives out. First, when I walked in I noticed an armed police officer, never had I seen that in other Walmarts. Second, as I walked out I saw a wall of bulletin board pinned with missing person's posters. Third, when I was in the parking lot ready to leave, I saw a security patrol car and it was 4pm in broad daylight. I don't know about you, but I feel like bad things have already happened here or is about to happen. read more

Like many and most people, I don't like Walmart. The quantity of Walmart was probably the biggest shock to me when I moved out to Connecticut. This Walmart is horrible. I question myself for going here, because I question most of the patrons of this Walmart. I feel like I always see a cop present when I'm at this Walmart. I have to say, this Walmart is huge. Wal*Mart is an ordinarily depressing place. But this particular location is truly extraordinary with regards to its complete lack of ability to provide a person with basic human respect. Forget even the concept of "customer service" - such an achievement would be light years away at this point... but perhaps they could start with goal of having their customers NOT leave the store feeling like a feces-flinging Rhesus Monkey... I asked for some help from two ladies about 10 feet away from me. They didn't hear me, so I repeated myself slightly more emphatically. The eye roll I got in response as one girl turned around was so petulant, I coulda swore her eyeballs did a backflip in her skull. Sassy, nasty, impudent. Then just today, the tire guy "didn't have tires in stock" for my girlfriend's car. He said he had "standard tires," but her car needed a "performance tire," an obvious ploy to bait and switch us into buying more expensive tires. Please... my girlfriend's car is not going above 75 miles per hour, I don't care what kind of tires are on there... I hate Walmart in general. This location is the model store of the bottom of the barrel customer service. It seems like they only hire sleezy people to work there. No one is remotely friendly. Everything is a mess and nothing is stocked. My boyfriend and I needed milk and there was virtually no milk. I wouldn't be surprised if Walmart is too cheap to pay a stock associate minimum wage with no benefits. I understand that Walmart is not a fun place to work at, but in this economy when people are struggling, any job is glorious. The cashiers were basically gossiping with one another. They didn't want to be bothered. The auto department was like "who cares" when they didn't have my tires in stock. Also the bathrooms in the front were blocked off. The only good part is that there are police present. Once you walk inside, you will figure out why the police need to be there. read more

I have been to many wal-marts in my day (don't judge me), and this is EASILY THE WORST WALMART ON THE PLANET. I challenge anyone to find one that is worse, honestly. Besides actual crap on the floor and walls of the bathroom, I waited in the Site-to-store area for fifteen minutes after I pressed the "page a customer service rep" button. I finally saw an employee walking by (most of them were chillin somewhere or looking absolutely miserable), and when I asked her how to get someone to help me she not only didn't slow down her stroll to the employee area at the back of the store, but only grunted in reply. Seriously, she grunted. Don't get me started on the general appearance of the rest of the store OR the entire customer service dept at the front. What a sad, sad place to shop, work or just be. The only reason I wasn't completely enraged by the whole thing was that it must be horrible for these people to work there. How depressing. Also, if you've ever seen that undercover bosses show, I think this is a prime candidate. I know that any high-ranking Walmart exec would be HORRIFIED by what they see there. I considered bringing a camera there so that my friends would believe me when I say I've seen the worst Walmart on the planet, but I don't want to go back there. read more

On Tuesday my girlfriend and I had some time to kill in the West Hartford area, so we decided to swing by Wal-Mart and do some exchanges/shopping. She bought an ink cartridge at the Manchester location but it turned out to be the wrong size. For some reason they only had one person working at customer service even though they have 4 registers there and about 20 people were waiting on line. It took a good 20-30 minutes to fine get to the register and we did the exchange no problem. Then the woman just walked away and started helping the next person, even though the ink cartridge was still in the plastic secure case. We finally got her to tell us that she sent some sort of a signal to the store manager to come up and open it, since only they have one. After about 5 minutes she had completely forgotten about us, and still no manager. We asked if she could page the manager and she said no. 12 minutes after we completed the transaction and when we were tired of waiting we walked to the front end by the registers, asked the person who seemed to be in charge there and unhooked it in 2 seconds. She said of course they could have paged her and had no idea what the other person did to try and get in touch with her. Even though she was confused she didnt seem to think it mattered and had no interest in talking to the costumer service rep. read more

Obviously, they're known for their low prices. Everyone knows that, and it's part of the reason why my family and I continue to shop here. However, not all of the associates here are very... how shall we say, 'customer focused.' One of them in particular (forgot the name) really wasn't all that helpful or accommodating, and it looked like me asking them for help was a real bother to them. That hasn't always been my experience with every single visit here though, some of the associates are rather helpful and do go out of their way to assist. In terms of cleanliness, I would give them maybe a 7 out of 10 on that. Usually, but not always, there are adequate cart wipes, bottles of sanitizer, and other necessary cleaning products available for use. However, there have been a few times when there haven't. You get what you pay for, when you shop at a Walmart, and this one really isn't all that different. read more

Worst Walmart in history of Walmart's. Terrible service. Live in the area and I will drive to other Walmart's just to avoid this one because the service is so bad. I currently walk with a cane. I bought presents for my sons birthday tomarow and politely asked the manager for a bag. He said " I'll tell him " and walked away and ignored me. So I asked another employee and he said " hang on" and he ignored me and went all the way to the other end of the self service register and also talked to some associates. A third and fourth associate passed me and avoided eye contact all together . I had to hobble up to them and shout hello? Hello? Can you help me get a bag please? He looked at me , looked at my cane and asked me how many bags and wat kind? At this point I was alittle frustrated that other associates where helping other customers get bags but I was literally being ignored. I said " it doesn't matter what kind, 1 or 2 I guess" so I rung out, left one of the bag I bought behind for the next customer because I didn't need it and hobbled as quick as I could out of there. Every time I need assistance at this Walmart, I am ignored. Literally ignored. I'd give you no stars if that was possible. read more

This location is about 5 minutes from my house but I'd rather drive to the Manchester or East Windsor location. The employees here are extremely rude and unprofessional. The younger emplpyees often hold conversations with other employess while they take care of guests. They pay more attention to their co-workers than they do to the guests. read more
