We were passing through Gillette on our way to Devil's Tower hauling our 40' fifth wheel. We placed our pick up order the day before so we wouldn't have to go inside. There was ample room in the back of the pick up row. JD brought our groceries out. He was very pleasant and friendly. We had a nice chat while he handed me the groceries. Wished us safe travels and even offered to help putting heavy items back in the doorway. Excellent service and everything was fresh and the way I would have picked them out. Thank you JD! read more

The staff at Walmart has always been pleasant. Walmart online is another story. I ordered a dresser, it was delivered to the incorrect address. The supervisor stated that I would get a refund...in 10 business days. I'm out $100 on a dresser, can't purchase another one until I get my refund. This is not the first time either. Do yourself a favor, shop Amazon. At least the customer service supervisor at Amazon tells you the truth. Walmart online customer service makes the rules up on their own because not 1, but 4 ddifferent agents said 4 different things. This is why I won't be ordering from them ever again. read more

Usually i absolutely love walmart but today i had the worst experience ive ever had in my life. I am a black woman and was with all my white friends which is very important to the story, this worker named mindy came down the isle and completely ignored the fact all my friends were messing around and yelled at me for just standing there swinging my leg back and forth and accidentally hitting an item under the shelf after i asked her if they had something in stock she said "it's probably under the shelf since you're kicking things under there" and continued to grab my wrist and take the item i had out of my hand and told me and my friends to leave she then followed us out of the store i hope this problem can be resolved read more

Ok, so I'm giving this Wal-Mart 4 stars for a few reasons. I understand this is typical of Wal-Mart, so they should change the policy but --- STOCKING NEEDS TO BE DONE AT NIGHT !!! I'll tell you why. Have you ever tried to shop in the Gillette Wal-Mart on a weekend? It's busy. Like - VERY BUSY. Having boxes and staff in the way makes the shopping experience even more horrible. I must say, though, you will never find another Wal-Mart where the patrons pass by and say hi, smile, say "excuse me" or "Sorry", joke around with you -- and the people who don't - are from out of town and not used to nice people! The prices are standard Wal-Mart, and I have yet to have *any* issues with anyone who works there. They are all very friendly and the cashiers are on top of their game. They are always saying hi, asking if you found everything, and occasionally asking if you can leave a review (I usually leave 5 stars because I actually like this Wal-Mart). read more

I did an online order for pick up here and Walmart messaged me 3 times about 3 items needed to be substituted I tried to substitute all 3 with Walmarts suggestions for substitutions and all of those were out so they cancelled my whole order and then the person went to Walmart and found all the items Walmart said were not available when they were full on the shelf the person asked Walmart why they said something was not available but he found all of them on the shelves and Walmart was busy and the employee said sorry we were too busy to go look for it we are just busy he said that is so wrong and making up excuses to not fill my order if the employees are too busy to go and look like their job is to do for online pickup why say something isn't available and then say sorry we just said for you to make substitutions just to not shop because they were too busy not acceptable read more

This is a typical zeal Mart in America. No one is knowledgeable of the store and most will not look at you little line help you. 5 team members and no one could tell me where to go to get items. One young lady in soft drinks putting out pricing knew something. One manager on the floor was clueless as to where items were, they directed me to customer service because they needed to go to a conference call. So much for customer service, no wonder team members cannot help the training is all about the store not the customer. read more

I enjoyed my experience. People/customers were friendly! The check out lady, was young and efficient and friendly to everyone! We also stayed overnight in the huge lot up front by the highway. Thank you so much for that added bonus Walmart. As always spent more money than I needed to, but always nice to walk around! I slept better than I have on my trip last night. Customer service is terrible, they're lazy when it comes to doing their job, they'll avoid helping a customer, even when you can get their help it's half-assed. Won't order in any normal products for customers (ie. Natural Jimmy Dean sausage or shredded Sargento cheese). Staff is not knowledgeable about products in their own departments. For not being in a tourist town they sure have a high turnover rate also. Oh and they also smoke right out front where the majority of customers can see them and smell it, not to mention subjecting others including children to the affects of second hand smoke. Mike gave Absolutely horrible service! We needed a tire changed on our tow trailer and the guy there refused to do it. Funny because we stopped in Cody, Wy 2 weeks ago and had the other tire changed by the Walmart there. They left us stranded hundreds of miles away from home with my kids and pregnant wife. Ugghh... Wal-Mart. What can you say about Wal-Mart that hasn't already been said a thousand times before. You either love it or you hate it. I tend to fall in to the hate it camp but I tend to find myself here way to often. The problem is they have EVERYTHING, it's just so convienent to go there for almost anything you can think of. Need some frozen pizzas, check, need a blender, check, need a new tv, check, need cold medicine, check, need a super dandy express clock 5000 from wherever the hell those things come from (probably China) they have that too. This is also the problem I have with this place, they have everything and none of it is any good, it's all shit. That pizza, yea it's gross, the blender, broke in a week and doesn't blend water, forget about fresh produce, and that super dandy express clock 5000 from China... well... it's awesome, but it's from friggin China! read more

I have been to this store countless times, against my will but for the most part I avoid it like my ex. If you are planning on making a trip to this Wal-Mart, I suggest you use tact. Gather another person to go along with you, when you enter the store, part ways. One of you head to the checkout lanes to claim a spot to wait 30 minutes in line, this is because they have 3 cashiers for 25 lanes. The other person can shop around for a while gather everything on the list and return to the spot the other person is holding for them. Then together you can wait another 10 minutes, and finally check out and go home. I don't recommend using the "express" cashierless checkout, it's more of a hastle than regular lanes. The staff is pretty friendly and helpful though, It's not their fault they're understaffed. read more

I actually used to have a low opinion of Walmart but the Walmart stores in this part of the country seem to be so much better than the Walmart stores in my home area. The groceries items were fresh and they actually have hot food for sale. I can see how this store can out compete smaller local stores. The check out sucks, they put in,self check out ,and that's taking job's from our community, you have to order off the website cause they have nothing compared to Spearfish, Casper or Rapid City and it is mostly higher priced. The store does have a good supply but nothing like others. When I called to check on my pickup order. The woman was a bitch and didn't hang up the phone, I heard her telling a coworker " I just had to listen to that guys life story". All I asked was,what is coming to my home and what was going to the store. The order has strung out over two weeks. I am going to stick to Amazon. read more

I LOVE WALMART. I go nearly every day because they have everything I need. I shop for myself and sometimes for others because I love to go. They have the best prices as a general rule and I love to see all the new items. I might enjoying buying more than I should and at least I can get the best prices which is very important to me. As a shopper I think so much of it that I bought stock in it. It gets 5 stars. Our Walmart in Gillette is one of the best ones that I have been in. It is pretty clean and has a good inventory. The checkers are polite although sometimes not enough of them and in general, I have no complaints. If too many people are a problem for you, go early in the morning or late at night. That is great time to go and you have no waiting in line. read more
