Gotta give Walmart props, my experience here was pretty good! I needed some toiletries during my travels, and this Walmart served me well. Despite the massive interior, it was easy to navigate. The space was clean, bright, and full of useful signage. And with one-third of the store dedicated to groceries, it was really convenient to get some water and snacks during the same toiletry run. The parking lot is a bit of a hot mess, definitely could use a refresh similar to the store itself. But in terms of convenience, selection, and price, this Walmart did the job! read more

First, I want to clarify that this review is specifically about the Tire Center. While we were traveling, we discovered we had two tires going flat. We called on a Saturday night and learned they were closed. No problem -- we asked what time to come in the next day and whether we could schedule an appointment. We were told appointments weren't available, but to arrive by 7:00 a.m. We showed up at 6:45 a.m., only to be informed that they had appointments scheduled until 9:00 a.m., and those would take priority. Again, fine -- we asked if we could make an appointment, as he said no, they did not do same day appointments. We asked if we could leave the tire, as we only had one spare. They said yes, so we left the tire and came back around 9:00 a.m. Plan was at 9:00 we would come back to a fixed tire, and they would put it on the truck and than take the other one off and fix it. We arrived back at 9:00. That's when we were told they couldn't repair the tire and that we would need to buy new tires. They did not call and tell us this, just left the tire until we showed back up. Unfortunately, they didn't have anything suitable for our truck, and one of the gentlemen tried to sell us passenger highway tires, which clearly wouldn't work. We declined. After we declined, the gentelmen just walked away and was not interested in helping us any longer. At that point, a young woman with long blonde hair stepped in to assist us. She was absolutely amazing. She took the time to listen, came up with a real solution, and was transparent throughout the process. She even came out multiple times to update us on what was happening with the vehicle. Importantly, she didn't try to upsell us with tires that weren't appropriate -- she truly helped us make it home safely with what we had. She was wonderful, and we really appreciated her help. Unfortunately, the older gentleman we first dealt with was the opposite -- he didn't listen, wasn't helpful, and came across as someone who just wanted to make a sale rather than help us solve a problem. read more

Manager refused to help me with a return. The experienced guys with the gun department weren't working that day. A lady from another department said that she couldn't answer any questions about the guns or anything in the gun department. "If you know what you want I can pull the gun out from our case and ring it up for you! I know what I want so I guess that will work. Gamo pellet gun. It wasn't legal to use in town I find out sonI went back to return it and they said that I needed his permission. Here is. Exactly what He said: ( copied and pasted His response.) "Concerns Concerns are trying to return a pallet gun Unfortunately, our systems don't allow any any type of guns at all to be returned. Doesn't even allow me to override it. I love shopping at this mega-store because I always find what I need or more. I have to refrain from going through all the aisles because I will start buying stuff I don't really need. I didn't bring a jacket on this road trip and it started getting chilly so I looked for a jacket and found the perfect one plus some pants I couldn't leave the store without them. read more

I bought a computer over Xmas, and it was a used one when I opened it. Someone was the administrator of it? I was dumb founded honestly how could this happen. I took it up to Walmart multiple times, and showed them what was in the computer. I was still in the window of 30 days to return/ exchange the computer. They would NOT work with me to exchange it even after showing them proof. I was treated so poorly by the customer service staff. Sharon was extremely rude to my father, and I. It took me almost a month and to speak to one of the main managers to even exchange it out, and they told me it was a courtesy . It wasn't my fault to begin with. They sold me a used defective computer or refurbished. It was one of the worst experiences I've had in customer services. read more

BEWARE! BAIT & SWITCH PRICING, and false advertising. Bought a cell phone at this Walmart based on the advertised price which included a $300 discount off the "retail" price. They had some story that you had to purchase the phone on the Verizon monthly payment plan to get that discount, but I could pay it off after one month and get the full discount. After one month, Verizon says that was not their deal and to complain to Walmart. Upon return to Walmart, they claim the deal had expired and that they just forgot to remove the price signs. I showed them photographic proof of the sign, with a date stamp proving the sign was up on the day I bought the phone. The "Assistant Manager" said sorry but nothing Walmart can do. This is a classic case of bait & switch, and we will see in court how this plays out. Bottom line: DO NOT fall for a "special deal" at Walmart for a cell phone. ESPECIALLY if you just want to pay it off and not make payments. Walmart is becoming more and more notorious for this kind of behavior. Just beware. read more

Asked if there was some where else I could return it and was told told by a rude person they close at 8 pm and I could come back a 7 am. After pushing call button couple times( In Fabric Dept.) a Staff Member Named McKenize comes over. I Had placed two things of fabric on the table to be measured and cut. McKenize picked them up and the tossed them to the other side of the table. Then went to set up the handheld machine she has. No Hi No nothing. After fiddling with the machine. She say "What do you want? I replyed " 2 yards of the Blue and Brown fabric that you put over there." She then oddly cut the Blue Fabric. I was now pressed for time. So I offered to fold fabirc while she put the info into the machine. She slammed her hand down onto the fabric with scissors in her hand and told me that I couldn't because she would forget how much she had cut. It's only 2 yrds. She then yelled "Let me do my Job! " So I turned and left. No I did not say a word to her or a manager. I left store not to buy anything. This is not the first time being in this Walmart that the staff are rude. I live on the other side of Bismarck but knew that wouldn't be back in time to stop at the Walmart that I always shop at . That will teach me ... I will now make a point to avoid this Walmart in Dickinson, North Dakota! read more

I always stop at Walmart's when I travel the prices are good and they have everything I need. Also if my tired I stay in the lot for a few hours I'm never bothered and it's safe. They have good deals on produce at night. read more

Employees are A+, same with the new order online for groceries and online pickup. Easy & convenient. Management needs to get a better handle on inventory and order for their customers needs. There's a few items I need that seem to be always out. read more

This Walmart is kept clean. With supply chain issues there can be items out of stock but that's everywhere! I check the app when looking for specifics before I go in-store. They do their best with keeping things in stock. Employees are friendly and no fears of being car jacked in the parking lot! read more

So I travel all over and this is the nicest Walmart that I have been to. clean and can find what I am looking for and way more!! everyone is really nice and treats everyone the same!! most the time I hate going to Walmart but not this one I actually enjoyed it! This place is absolutely racist. Three people at the door hound my husband for a receipt if he's pushing the cart even though everything is bagged. They make us sit there as they meticulously go through our entire cart. My husband is American Indian. If I push the cart through no one says crap to me. I am white. It is disgusting. Ignorant racist employees. I also know I am not the only person to experience this. Send your employees to some sensitivity training Walmart!! read more

I can't even begin to describe how much I hate, no wait loathe this place. This store clearly can't handle the influx of customers. Produce (as well as other products) are always expired or completely out. It isn't uncommon to see empty shelves. Never enough employees. Check out lines are always at least 5 full carts deep and only 7 out of 20-something lanes are open. Don't bother returning anything. This place is a joke. read more

This wal mart is beyond terrible!!!! I would give them negative stars if possible ... Their store is a disaster, they have actual shopping carts filled with random items around the store ALL OVER! They have pallets of stock in the middle of every aisles... They never have anything you need, their fruits and veggies are rotten and gross nothing is fresh! Their shelves are empty barley with anything on them! Their employes suck also ... They have no idea what is going on in that store, you ask them a question and they have no idea! When I first got to Dickinson the Wal-Mart was terrible and always out of everything, but with the new Family Fares opening there are more than 2 grocery stores for 30,000+ people now. So it has improved a little bit since then. Still ridiculous during the day but wonderful if you go after 8pm or before 7am read more

Wow! We started in southern Florida, clear to Oregon and are on the way back so we have seen lots of Walmart stores and this is very nice. It is a fairly large store, well stocked, and very friendly folks. I read the reviews prior to making the trek from Medora and was pleasantly surprised. this place is terrible!! dont come here, there employes are so rude and racest. me and my best friend wanted a good day so we went shopping, and she has a service dog becasue she has anger issues, and we took off the vest when he was sleeping and didnt put it back on. so when we went in walmart they asked us if the dog was a service dog and we said yes and showed him his tag on his collar. then he diditn believe us even though the tag was RIGHT THERE LIKE!! then he called three other workers over and said that we were lying and that we have "issues" and made us get the service dog papers. we said we would go get them from the car, and they followed us to search our car for them! that was the second time i went there but its also my last. read more

I can't describe how much I hate this place. Literally every time I enter the store, I leave with an unnatural anger. Nothing makes you feel more like a head of cattle than trying to return something. The cashiers are always new, and I have never gone through the line and been correctly charged. Sending a money gram is a huge nightmare, and the lines are always ultra long. They have the cheapest prices in town, but I would gladly pay double for the piece of mind. read more

I ordered two tires online from Wal-Mart, with free delivery to the store, mounting/balancing/etc extra. I called the store to find out how the process works. I was told that as soon as I received word that the tires were at the store, to come in and it was first come, first served. The tires arrived in less than a week and I went to the store to have them put on, $15.00 extra per tire. Ken waited on me. (He might have been the Department Manager.) He told me how long it would take and if I had store shopping to do, I would be paged. The work was done faster than expected. Ken was very honest and redid the store charge because there was a coupon I was not aware of, saving me $10. It was my first visit to that Wal-Mart, and twice store employees led me right to products I needed. I would rate the auto department as prompt and very honest, and would go back again to the store and certainly will recommend it to friends and coworkers. read more

I began a vacation with Dickinson ND being where I stayed the first night. The next morning when I started my car the "change oil" light came on. I went to this Walmart, as I have normally gotten oil changes from Walmart in Steubenville, OH and Helena, MT for years. Once they were open at 7, the staff seemed very slow to get going, where in my visits to other Walmarts they immediately waited on me at 7 on the dot. I was 2nd in line, yet it took 90 minutes to do the oil change. Two of the employees wanted to disclose way too much information to me about their personal lives. After getting the oil change and going on my way, the next time I stopped I noted they had not reset the oil change light. I did get that corrected at Walmart in Logan, OH. Then on the trip back just before Mitchell, SD, the "hot oil" light came on. After taking it to a repair shop in Kimball, SD, they said there was a quart too much oil and the oil was very dirty. I can only surmise from this that the Walmart in Dickinson ND did not change my oil, but just poured in a quart and charged me for an oil change. read more
