I needed to pick up some items almost exclusively from the pharmacy section and made my way here. It was on my way home to PA and I decided to give it a try. This is somewhat of a smaller Walmart that I have been to, and this is one that you can tell was built back in the 90s and not torn down and replaced. Evident by the front of the store where the carts are stored. Pharmacy was off to the left of the one entrance and, as this is a theme, smaller than expected. And busy, it made it hard to browse and select items, almost always someone was in front of you or blocking an item. Especially if it was the aisle that forms the line leading to the pharmacy counter. On top of that, workers are milling about filling the shelves. So another obstacle to overcome. After what felt like an eternity, I had everything that I wanted and a few other items that I didn't necessarily need. Made our way to the front of the store to the self checkout lines. It took a while to get to an open register. I had to do two separate transactions and being able to do so without a line directly behind me, made it easier. However, being eagle eyed by the three employees hovering around the self checkout area was a bit unsettling. Finally paid, made our way outside and back on our way for the day. read more

I had a wonderful experience yesterday in the electronics department. Specicically, I was having trouble getting invitation cards printed due to problems with the machine that you enter your photos in. I asked for help and was immediatly assisted by Isabelle. Isabelle spent a very long time fighting with the machine until she accomplished the task. I have never had such good service from an employee anywhere in the Walmart system. Needed to return a defective item. Found the customer service desk empty, and when I approached an associate for help, I was told "oh she stepped away, she'll be back in 15 minutes". Well I didn't have 15 minutes to wait around for someone, so I politely asked if any other employee would be able to complete the return for me, and was flatly told "no". Irritated at this point, I said I found it hard to believe only one person in the entire store FULL of associates was able to help with a return. Was met with a blank stare. No "I'm sorry for the inconvenience", nothing. How you can run a big-box store with probably 100 people working at any given time (a few of which were standing at their registers with no customer in line) and not have ANYBODY available at customer service is beyond me. read more

overall, my experience at Walmart has been subpar. Until I ran into the cashier named Jose. He told me that he recently began work and clearly he deserves a raise -- his hospitalities of the level of Chick fil A, and it makes everyone else employed there look like a 2-star he is so compassionate. Before I realized he told me my bag was ripping. He assisted me when I double scanned. He told me insightful information about checkout. Walmart Supercenter #2566. This company needs to work on customer service relations if they want to see more memberships and stay competitive with Amazon. This was a pickup order and no one picks up phone. I went inside to customer service desk to get assistance; maybe someone could tell them that we are waiting in 100+ degree heat outside for our order. There was lack of empathy, compassion and true arrogance from a Customer Service manager named Jackie. This lady should not be in customer service. There were several other cars that were waiting in this heat for over an hour. People die sitting in this heat in cars with no assistance. You want people to join a membership, and this is the service you provide??? Corporate Executives were notified. read more

I went to this Walmart at about 10PM to return some items, and possibly do some shopping. Upon walking into the return area, I was told by an employee there that I would have to come another day to do my return, because the "customer service" desk closed at 8PM. I have never heard of such a thing, being told I could not return an item while the store was open? I asked for a manager, and 10 minutes later, a woman came out of the room behind the return desk, and told me the same thing. I asked about doing the return at one of the front registers, and was told they have not done that in over a year. To be perfectly honest, I was treated as if I had annoyed her by even asking. I will return to this Walmart to have them give me my refund, and from that point I doubt I will ever patronize Walmart again. A company that will gladly accept your money all the way to 11PM, but will not let you have money back on an item you are dissatisfied with after 8PM is not one I can do business with. There are no hours posted on Walmart's website for their service desk. There are no hours posted on their front doors for their service desk. I would like to add that one of the major reasons this disgusted me so is that I managed stores for CVS, Rite Aid, and Dollar General in my career. I have done returns for people 10 minutes after I closed my store before. This is the most ridiculous policy I have EVER heard of. read more

We stopped here on the way home from an afternoon at a nearby winery. The store was recommended by a friend of ours that had just spent the day with us. Sadly our first stop in the shopping plaza was closed. It is a bagel shop that was closed around 4 pm on Sunday. Can you believe it? We came to Walmart to get soda water & a sweet snack. Plus the kids wanted to look around the toy department. After all it will be Christmas sooner than you think! Near the front of the store was a seasonal favorite. They had peanut oil in very large containers for the deep fryers to cook your Thanksgiving turkey! There's also a Claire's store by the grocery entrance for all your earring needs. We finished our visit at the store here. There were clearance items on sale. The grocery department is a decent size. It goes from the front to the back along the right wall. My daughter was craving a bit of ice cream. We could not find any of the DC area specialty brands like Jeni's at Walmart but they had Ben & Jerry's for a good price. while my daughter was picking a flavor out I took my 2 grandchildren and their friends to the toy area. They had a really nice variety of Lego kits here. My grandson loves building them. My granddaughter loves to play with unicorns. She saw so many fun and cute ones here. My daughter walked over eating a pint of the Jimmy Fallon flavored Ben & Jerry's ice cream. We shared it until it was all gone! We were both making Christmas list notes as the kids looked around. I try not to go to walmart most of the time. This one seems to always have stuff blocking the aisles. There is more workers just walking around then cashiers working the checkout stand. This one seems to never have anybody working at the checkout stand. (so be prepared to work at Walmart as a cashier and bagger just to buy your items. You ring up your own items and bag them so your pretty much working for free when you shop at walmart) well I decided to swing in there tonight because I was in the area and I should've just gone to Food Lion or Martin's or weis. I only needed to get a few items I noticed that in the store they were still advertising promos for Black Friday. (it is now the end of the day of Tuesday )They didn't take down any of the signs. There was no expiration date on the sell signs. I so I was just gonna buy a few of those items some of the items that I had put in my cart even had a promo sticker on it so I go to the self check out and I rang up the items and I was like oh this is full price even some of the items are cheaper online than in store. so then I had to get someone to takeoff the items and they were like I can take it off or if you want it or not and I was like why would I want it when it says promo right on there and you guys are advertising it on the sell rack for a lower price. so then he was like let me check my special system and it was just the Walmart app and I was like are you serious? Usually stores will honor what they have advertise. I mean with how many people that work at this Walmart most the time I see them standing in a group talking about their drama it would've taken them no time at all to take down the promo signs. I used to go to the pharmacy at this Walmart but not anymore because it just took way too long. Now I just get it sent to my front door for a-lot cheaper than it was costing me at Walmart from FREDERICK COMMUNITY PHARMACY(FREDERICK COMMUNITY PHARMACY is great).Plus the walmart parking lot sucks. I don't do the order online because they seem to like to give you stuff that's about to rot or is rotting or you have to eat that day when I do the grocery shopping online. read more

OMG! I have ordered from this Wal-Mart for the Free home delivery. 3out of 10 times my order has been sent to the WRONG STATE, WRONG CITY! WTF! can your people NOT read? It is also virtually impossible to request a refund on items that THEY erroneously sent to the WRONG address! Bottom line, DO NOT ORDER VIA THEIR ONLINE DELIVERY. So much like the other complaints I wish Walmart's quality of produce was better. Seems like everything from there expires within the week or a couple of days. If you want fruit, especially strawberries just keep driving because Walmart is not the place to buy them. My second complaint is their receipt checking practices. Whenever I go here (until recently) the Walmart greeter would ALWAYS check my bag. Which is odd because they won't check anyone else's bags before me. I am of AA decent. Not saying it's a contributing factor but it's mighty strange. Especially when persons have been caught walking out with tvs here..... and they weren't AA.... Odd. Maybe this location could stop watching me so hard and actually make sure nobody is robbing the place. read more

This review is based toward the pharmacy here. For reasons unknown since transferring my meds here I no longer get calls from them telling me my script is ready, but my mom does. So I asked them what number of mine they had on file, I made them change it to my cellphone number, and... I still didn't get any calls. Anyway, I had already been waiting 2 weeks for a new script and the doctor told me they sent it in to Walmart (this was on a Thursday). So late Friday evening I go to finally get my new script to find out that I can't get it because the doctors' info sent doesn't match their info in the system. They ask me if they're open the next day so that they can give my doctor a call and I'm like... "no, it's a Saturday, they're closed" (why didn't Walmart call them Thursday or Friday morning when they saw the discrepancy in their system?). So Walmart tells me they'll call and take care of it, and that they'll call me when it's ready (which would've been Monday at best), and that I don't have to worry about a thing or keep calling because they'll contact me. So Wednesday rolls around and... I still didn't receive a call so I'm thinking they never contacted my doctor. My doctor ends up leaving me a message telling me that my prescription has been ready since Monday (so I was feeling pretty upset at this point since I've waited 2 and a half weeks for this medicine). I call up Walmart, yes they have my script (thanks for never contacting me!), and I finally get my medicine. Can't there be a decent pharmacy in this town?? The only nice thing they did while I was suffering with my problem was directing me to where I could get something similar to what I was waiting for in the meantime... but it didn't work for me and I didn't think that it would to begin with (but at least she tried and she took initiative on her own so that was nice). read more

None of the associates / employees know where anything is. They keep moving things around and when you ask someone, they go ask someone, who goes and asks someone else. Then when all three are together they stare out in space and wonder until I give up. read more

This is the best Walmart so far! (Except for the employees) They have the best clerance! All stuff goes for a dollar $1. That is the best deal. The custumer service is not that good, employees aren't in the mood, and they are RACIST (most of them). But I like to shope there. read more

Not enough cashiers, not everyone wants to use self checkout. It is very poor customer service to expect that people want to bag and checkout their items there self, especially buying groceries with small children. The manager should run more than two cashiers during weekends especially; too many workers standing around doing nothing. read more

This place looks like one of the stores in a apocalyptic movie, the shelves are empty and employees wandering aimlessly. If you go online to check for a specific item and it says that it's in stock, don't believe it. If they do have something, it's the most expensive that they can get in. And if you like to park at a favorite door, forget it, they have closed one set of doors and you can only exit/enter at the doors on the left. read more

Never again will I EVER use Walmart Charles Town WV grocery pick up! I was parked in spot "A" for an hour waiting, watching other cars who pulled up after me 20-30 minutes, being loaded with groceries, unbelieveable!!! I called thier pick up line 4 times to remind them I was waiting, each time "I was next in line". The whole point of grocery pick up is to lessen the stress of your errands, and make it easier to grocery shop. I understand it's Friday however an hour wait and watching others who arrived after you being loaded was beyond frustrating.I was late picking up my son as a result and my order was missing items. Unacceptable, never again! I could have gone in and shopped quicker than getting grocery pick up. read more

I'm really starting to dislike this place. I'll sit on hold for 30 minutes before anyone picks up the phone when I call, if not that then I'm transferred back and forth a dozen times for the same person to pick up and ask how they can help me when I'd already spoke to them in the first place, sometimes multiple times. It seems impossible to get help when I'm in this store and need something from the electronics section cause nobody is ever back there. Then, the young girl in customer service who answered my call this evening, I asked if she had an idea of when she's getting a shipment of a certain product in since she told me the store was out of stock of them item, and all she could rudely give me was "If we do have any on the way then it's probably in the middle of the ocean with the rest of the stuff that gets shipped here." It was probably the stupidest answer I've heard in my life. Walmart in Charles Town needs to step it up, especially with their employees. read more

Everyone answers all my questions with care and consideration to my needs. I would like to personally recognize KRISTINE for all her great help. First time I've been to this Walmart. Everyone seemed nice until I checked out. I went to the speedy check out ( I had less then 20 items) all the way to the right cashier was a lady with long brown and grey hair and she seemed like a nasty person. I tried having small talk and she was very short and would not make eye contact. She bagged my stuffed very sloppy. I'm sorry you have to work at Walmart but don't take it out on me. read more

Nice store, its walmart. 2 complaints, they used to restock only at night but now they do it all the time so they have huuge carts of wrapped up products in the middle of the isles and its annoying. Second, they don't restock non-food items. I bought a pair of Apple headphones and it was the last pair. Ive been there a few times since I bought them and they have NOT re-stocked. I tried to buy a ps4 game from there as well and they did not re-stock that for a while. I ended up buying it at gamestop anyway. They only re-stock food and clothes. The employees are actually really nice (if they talk to you). There is a Subway in the walmart (which is a plus). Overall, good experience as I seem to go there like everyday. read more
