This is your standard, massive, open-24/7, Walmart Supercenter. It's located next to Statesboro Mall and, outside of Georgia Southern, has probably made this area the unofficial city center of Statesboro, Georgia. This place has everything you need from fresh produce, clothing, and prescription drugs to garden decor, video games, and pet fish. Yes, for many years, they've actually carried an assortment of live pet fish here. You can get your flu shot at the Walmart pharmacy, fill up on gas at the Walmart gas station, get your hair done at the salon, pick up food from the Walmart bakery and deli, and rent a movie from Redbox. Why would you need to go anywhere else? Seriously though, this place is huge with a giant parking lot to boot. I've heard this is one of Walmart's busiest stores. It's certainly one of the busiest I've ever been to. As you might imagine, the parking lot was littered with trash and the inside of the store was messy and worn -- nothing really out of the ordinary for this notorious big-box chain. During our visit, Bulloch County police cars were parked outside the storefront and officers were patrolling the store inside. In addition, this store has heavy video surveillance. I'm not sure if it's more surveillance than the typical Walmart Supercenter, but they definitely let it be known that you're being recorded, underneath bright lights and all. Stopped in to get a set of Beats earbuds and some ammo. Nobody in electronics to help out. Asked an associate and they told me to hang around and someone would be back eventually with keys. So I went to sporting goods. Nobody there either. Left and went to a sporting goods store that has employees who could help me. Then I ordered the earbuds on line. I have been in this store several times and always experience racism. But today was the tip of the iceberg for me. I child was running free and Walmart staff was trying to catch him. I am Hispanic and so was the child. So the child flies past me while o am in the self checkout line. The Walmart greeter (woman) stops as she is about to pass me too, looks dead at me and says, "do you know who this child belongs to?" I was so embarrassed as there are other customers literally all around. It was so humiliating to have her assume that it was my child just because he happened to fly by me. read more

I really, really want this place to be better. For the past year or so, so many places on the shelves are empty. Things just flat out aren't being stocked, and when they are, they're stocking during customer rush hours (I've been at night, they're not stocking crap then). This makes navigating the aisles harder than actually finding what you came for. Every time I go, I leave without something on my list because the item just isn't stocked when there's a place for it. I've been to the electronics department on three separate occasions and never once has a phone that's advertised there in stock. I went through FOUR different phones in one go trying to buy one that had a little card up on display there. I honestly don't know if the woman was trolling me or not. She is never friendly or helpful in the slightest. My favorite experience was going to the front of store bathroom and seeing a loose panel under the sink and a mostly-used, greyish bar of soap lying on the counter because the soap dispenser was out of soap. It even beats today, when the checker wordlessly tears open my bag of pears and handled them with her bare hands to get the code (which, it's clear plastic... come on) because apparently there were two different types of pears in there (from the same bin where they were mixed together). She just tossed them in the bag with other groceries. Someone also peed in one of the dressing rooms and just left it; no idea who had to clean that one up, but I'm sorry. Zero stars. This store looks like it got hit by a CAT 5 Hurricane. It is a complete disaster zone. I was only able to get about half my items. Nothing is stocked, pallets of merchandise just sitting in the aisles not being put on the shelves. I thought I was going to have an anxiety attack just being in there. One register out of 20 open, self checkout 30 people deep. Sam would be rolling over in his grave. Please corporate get a grip on this place!! Never going back!! Walmart needs to change the way they handle people who are checking out with WIC coupons. I was at Walmart in Statesboro Georgia yesterday and I waited in line at least 45 to 50 minutes while two people in front of me checked out with WIC vouchers. One person must've had 8 or 10 different vouchers. This is absolutely ridiculous. I am not blaming the cashier because she was doing the best she could. This store is poorly managed! Every time I'm in (all times of the day) there are pallets of merchandise to stock crowding the aisles. It's frustrating to maneuver around all the clutter. They're out on the floor so customers tear into them. The place looks like trash. In electronics, the videos are always mixed up. There are always hundreds of empty spaces. There are always pallets and hand trucks loaded with boxes of videos to stock. The shelves are as much a mess as the clearance bins! I used to work at a Walmart and third shift stocked the shelves. By 8:00am, all pallets had to be off the floor. ALL shifts took responsibility for keeping the store neat. This place is horrid. read more

When grocery shopping in Statesboro you don't have many options so Walmart is typically where everyone goes. The parking lot is a complete mess but again, this is one of the only places to go grocery shopping so that makes complete sense. The shelves are usually pretty stocked I've never had an issue personally not being able to find something. It has a different layout than most Walmarts I'm used to. I am legitimately comparing this to every other Walmart I've walked into. It seems about average there's never any employees around to ask questions so that's not anything new. Overall I would definitely come back to this location there was nothing really wrong with any experience I've had here. read more

On the plus this is a huge Walmart, but its also in deplorable condition for what seems like a relatively newer location. Which you'll notice as soon as you pull in the parking lot, with all the garbage laying about. and it doesn't get much better on the inside, its pretty rough. Just as everyone has said about WalMart, this place sucks. If not for my wife, I don't come here. In fact I don't even go into the store anymore due to the attitude of the employees and managers. I wait in the car for her to run in. They are always out of something or for what ever reason the stock has not been put out. Your a lot better going to BiLo for what you need until we get another grocery store. Now there are a few, but a very few good one that do work here. So if you can, go someplace else as you will come out of the store a super happy person for it. read more

It's Walmart. It's a soul-sucking experience. I honestly wish this place didn't exist. Why can't we have a Target? I only go here if I really, really need something right away that I can't get anywhere else in town. Every time I go in I feel anxious and like I need a shower. My biggest pet-peeve with this particular Walmart: absolutely no hand-baskets. I feel like it's psychological warfare: they want me to get a cart so I can't move in the aisles filled with carts and then have to look at all the products while unable to move and buy everything. So, instead, I run through the store, weaving between carts, and only purchasing what I can hold in my hands. Seriously folks, get some darn hand-baskets. Another issue: if your coupons don't scan properly, they won't honor them. So, your manufacturer coupons may not get you anywhere here. Also, the lines are atrocious. They only ever have a handful of lanes open in the store. This is usually not too much of a problem for me because I like self-check-out and only ever buy as much as I can physically carry, but because there are so few lanes, people with carts filled with stuff gum-up the self check-out. There should be some sort of rule against having 200+ items in self check-out. Not that anyone in Walmart would follow it, but it's annoying. read more

This place has been VERY TRASHY! They need to clean up the fish area and maybe freshen it up a bit. I mean it's not a bad place. I just wouldn't recommend buying clothing from it. Horrible Quality clothing. I mean if you buy food or whatever, I would recommend you get the Walmart Brand pop tarts because they taste better than the on-Brand one. And also, The cashiers need better attitudes. If they don't wanna work, why come? The food is alright. read more

Not my favorite Walmart, but it is the only Walmart Supercenter around when I visit Statesboro. My problem with this Walmart is the layout. It's just backwards and discombobulated. However, it has everything I need when I need it. read more

This Walmart is by far the worst I've ever seen. Every time I go there to purchase something its out of stock. Im hesitant to even go there anymore if I need something because I know the result will be the same. The inventory they do have is just thrown around on the shelves. I wasted 2 hours this morning when I called the Walmart in Statesboro, Ga and was assured that they have a certain phone in stock. I double checked to make certain but when we arrived after driving for 45 minutes, we were told that they have not had that phone in stock for a few days. I wasted 2 hours because an incompetent employee could not bother to check and tell me the truth. The only reason I was even bothering to go to the store instead of ordering online is because I tried to do that twice but your automatic security check canceled the order both times. Now I have to wait until tomorrow to check my bank because the money was not refunded right away. read more

It's Walmart, not much else to say. In fact, the only good thing I can say is that it's the least expensive place in town for groceries. Other than that, it stinks. If i could give a zero star review I would. Went in today to do some shopping for my mom. This is the most disgusting Walmart I've ever been to. The outside looked like two weeks worth of litter had been left there. You walk in, and there was NO sanitary wipes, hand sanitizer, nothing. Doesn't the CDC have guidelines for grocery stores/supermarkets during a pandemic? Does Walmart even care about the health of its customers? I literally couldn't believe it. There's trash all over the floors, and I didn't expect to see shelves fully stocked, but everything was just wrecked. I couldn't even find anything on the shelves that I was looking for because it was so unorganized. I can't even believe I had this bad of an experience. Even from Walmart, which I already consider bottom of the barrel, this was such a disappointment and horrendous. From now on I'll just do my shopping in Savannah and bring my mother groceries. RUDE customer service on the telephone! I contacted the main number to speak with someone in the Vision Center. She proceeded to give me the direct number to the vision center. I explained that I was calling long distance and asked that she transfer me to the Vision Center via her line. She stated she didn't have a way to transfer the line and again proceeded to give me the number. I asked for her name. She said she was "the operator". I again asked for her name. She stated she "doesn't have a name". I asked for clarification on her statement, which she bluntly said, "I don't have a name". I then asked to speak with her general manager. She put me on hold for approximately ten minutes and never came back to the phone. This occurred on 10/20/14 at approximately 1:50pm. Walmart in Statesboro is a terrible experience. We went in for a DVD, since it's the only place in town that we could buy it on a weeknight (without making the trek into Savannah for another electronics store). They were out of the DVD. We found this out after searching high and low on the DVD shelves, since all of their DVDs looked like a kid had run through and knocked everything askew. Me and my friend needed a few things tonight on 10/11/2020 at 8:50 and we went to self check out with our four items. We get to the scanner and it isn't working, it will not scan out items. we go to move to another and the associate Connie who is an older white women comes over and helps us. she then proceeds to stand right behind me (white female) and my friend (black female) the whole time. proceeds to watch us and ask "did you ring this up". giving my friend rude looks as we are going to leave she asks to check our receipt. we gave it to her because we didn't take anything and turns out we didn't ring up one item. we apologize because it was a mistake and proceed to go back to ring it up she then stands there and watches us again. when we are done she turns around to the two other males (also black) and proceeds to make them check ALL their items and take their things OUT of the bag! i watched for a while longer and she proceeded to stop two other black men but ZERO white people. i am completely disgusted. read more

Good centralized location. Its a walmart, so it carries just about everything you'd need. Murphey USA gas station location (Usually some of the cheapest gas in town). Massive amounts of parking, which is good because as the only Walmart in town it is usually exceptionally crowded. Always, ALWAYS crowded. Usually has fairly long lines due to only a few lanes being open at any given time. read more

When we questioned this we were told customers could not be refused. Hello! Then take the freaking sign down. Also trying to get a manager is a joke.
