I've been to this TJ Maxx in Statesboro a couple times. My girlfriend was considering buying some Samsonite carry-on luggage at this store. I like Samsonite, but I wasn't impressed with the rolling bags here. The selection and quality weren't the best. When it comes to luggage, you get what you pay for. I prefer Travelpro these days. We weren't able to find any of the dry shampoo my girlfriend likes, but she did purchase a bunch of bottles of hand soaps for her apartment. They had all sorts of varieties that looked unique. I browsed through the men's clothing section and didn't see anything of note. We did pick up a bag of what looked and tasted like green tea Werther's sitting on a shelf near the check-out counter. They did not taste good. Service has been good. This TJ Maxx is located at the Statesboro Crossing shopping center near Statesboro Mall and Walmart. Other big box retailers at this shopping center include Ulta, Petco, Books-A-Million, Rack Room Shoes, and Hobby Lobby. The shopping center is clean and looks well-maintained. I'm sure I'll be back.

And the bank with the credit card was 10% off at Ollie's on top of that. Well, I gave in to that. This is great! It is about half no name fake brand cheaper things that are knock offs (but not store brands like a Big Lots would have) and about half 2nd run name brands. I got Star Wars and Spiderman limited edition Pyrex refrigerator dishes, for just a scootch less than Goodwill would charge for them used. Those were clearanced on Amazon and the Pyrex website about 3 years ago, but here they are, resurfaced with racks and racks of them at Ollie's. They had all these comic books that came out around 2012-2015, and are about the age to get remaindered and past being clearanced at a bookstore. This location has tons of books. Pricing was all over the place for the books. The comic books were anywhere from $2 each to $8 each. (Most were $4.). The kids books were super randomly priced. Ones with retail value of $20 might be $2 at Ollie's, while ones with $8 retail value might be $4 at Ollie's. I used to resell books and the pricing was not related to retail pricing at all. There are bad deals here and there are awesome deals here. Good place for a last minute kids gift, because books are not as messy and cluttery as toys, so that is what I always give. I came for flower pots, in June (ie. in season). I was not disappointed. They have a bunch of ceramic flower pots ranging. A 5 gallon is around $20. Really big huge ones in dark blue (maybe 27 inches tall and more than 15 gallon) were $50 each. Last year, I went crazy at Lowes when ceramic pots were 66% to 80% off, and Ollie's on customer appreciation weekend was actually about like 60% off at Lowes for some of these. (With the discount, Ollie's flower pots are like 30% to 60% off Lowes ceramic flower pot prices; are like clearance at Costco; and are way lower than at Big Lots.) Probably a good place to check out for cute gardening stuff.

For a small city like Statesboro, this is a nice sporting goods store to have. It's cut in the mold of a big box retailer like Dick's Sporting Goods though not as nice and there's more of a focus on guns and outdoor, hunting, fishing, and camping gear. As a Georgia Tech alum, I was surprised to see they actually carry a decent amount of Georgia Tech apparel. In the state of Georgia, outside of metro Atlanta, Georgia Tech apparel can be hard to find. Not here. Of course, they have apparel for UGA as well plus Atlanta's pro sports teams (Braves, Falcons, and Hawks). As a golfer, I was impressed with the golf department. They call theirs the "Fairway Center." From apparel to equipment, they carry several major brands including Callaway, Nike, TaylorMade, Titleist, and Under Armour. They have everything you need to play including modern styles on shoes and apparel and some current club models, particularly when it comes to drivers and putters. They also carry clubs/sets for junior/kid golfers. If you're a college sports fan, they have golf bags with various school logos on them (not surprisingly, they are mainly SEC schools). There's a simulator where you can hit balls and try different clubs out. The staff can do club fittings and they can re-grip clubs too. When I visited, the most popular section of the store was the gun section. They stock a wide variety of rifles and handguns, ammo, and accessories (e.g. sights). If you're looking for a secure place to store your gun collection, they sell safes in various sizes. Most of the safes are big so they can accommodate rifles. For the ladies, they offer concealed carry purses in a variety of "fashionable" styles. I had fun checking out all the camo gear. Currently, this is one of three Dunham's locations in Georgia. The other two are in LaGrange and Rome. This is a nationwide chain with over 230 locations. Most of the stores are located in smaller cities like Statesboro.
